Marta is certainly a very good guitar player with her own style, but i'm afraid you must have very few knowledge about portuguese guitar to pretend that she "really raised it up to a new level".
Always enjoyable listening to you play Marta. It is inspiring as I picked up a Portuguese Guitar two years ago while in Portugal and want to learn to play well some day soon.

Tantas vezes me pergunto, o porquê de nascer alguém tanto talento e ainda por cima ser abençoada com tanta beleza? O que resta para as outras, comuns mortais a quem o destino ou seja lá o que for apenas deixou uma vida anónima e tantas vezes difícil sem que ao menos tivesse tido durante a vida, nem que fosse apenas um dia de glória. Que natureza imperfeita.
Os verdadeiros dias de glória estão nos nossos olhos, não nos olhos dos outros.

This is the taste of the portuguese soul. Saudade is when you feel that you miss something, but you can't explain/don't know what it is.
actually is more a mixing feeling of missing from home or place or people (that can be quiet clear or not) and the hope of going back to that very same place and people even knowing that maybe will not be possible or when it will be possible

A Marta Pereira da Costa, embora excelente guitarrista, não é a primeira nem a única guitarrista profissional da guitarra portuguesa. A primeira guitarrista a tocar este instrumento (que julgo que ainda toca) foi Luísa Amaro, que também tocou com Carlos Paredes.

Ah, so people like Antonio Chainho or Carlos Paredes were not professionals? And the numerous players that earn a living by accompanying fado singers are not professionals? Or not fado guitarists? Come again?
They intended to say "the first FEMALE professional guitarrist". But not even that is quite true...
Why were they using an electric bass guitar?That instrument has nothing to do with traditional Portuguese music!!!Also,they should not be using a guitarra Portuguesa to play American Music.l am referring to the song that was written by George Geershwin.
Fado and Portuguese guitar are commonly accompanied by a bass instrument. In the old days it was a Portuguese version of the acoustic bass, but its sound couldn't keep up with the Portuguese guitars sound. Because of that we started using more electric alternatives for bass
