- We discuss some of Crystal Palace Football Club's history in this video. We begin with the club's location, home ground, and founding story. We then discuss the club's nicknames (Palace, the Glaziers, and the Eagles), crest, and important events. And we close with discussing noteworthy players, managers, and stats/records.
The video is not all-encompassing but it hopefully provides some interesting information about Crystal Palace FC.

Thanks for stopping by The Soccer Tavern. Hope to see you again soon. - Sport
Palace fan here. Really good video. We're delighted to still be in the Premier League 6 years after this video.
Hope you get to see another match at Selhurst, as the football has been so entertaining under Oliver Glasner.
Thanks for watching and commenting! Glad you enjoyed the video and I hope to get back to Selhurst as well 🍻
Fantastic concise factual information about one of the oldest football clubs in the world.
Well done for including that the club originally dates back to 1861 👍🆙1️⃣0️⃣⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️💙❤️💙🦅
Thanks so much Tom! Really happy you enjoyed the video and I really appreciate the positive feedback 👍
i never actually knew that my club went back to 1861, thanks for that information
No problem! Hope you enjoyed the video 🍻
Thanks a lot!!! i'm from Mexico, I support Arsenal but have an affinity for Crystal Palace, too many things that I wanted to know and you explained in less than 15 min, keep up the good work!
Hey Juan! Thanks so much for checking out the video and for the kind words. Really happy you enjoyed it and found it useful. And thanks for subscribing to the channel 🤙
Brilliant video, great summary, Steve Coppell needs a mention though
Thanks for watching the video and for the comment. My bad for missing out on Steve Coppell.
No
This video was awesome! Great Job man! 👍
Thanks so much Sean! Glad you enjoyed it
1861! Thank you, you have done your homework. Hats off to you sir. C.P.F.C
Thanks for the kind words. Happy you enjoyed the video! 🍻
Hey do a history of Bradford city AFC please
That song call glad all over 😊
You need to mention that Palace is the nearest to Brighton. Many people in England can;t understand that it's a local derby - because Brighton are on the South Coast and palace are in London - but the 2 teams catchment areas for supporters border each other - thus meaning that some areas of Sussex are part Palace and Part Brighton supporting areas (Brighton is in the county of Sussex) - hence the rivalry
Thanks for the info! 🍻
A rivalry not derby.
Great video!
Thanks!
Great video
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
I think you should look in to coventry city. Very interesting history especially in recent years.
They’re on my list to do at some point. Tough to find time to make videos these days, but I’ll get to them (hopefully sooner rather than later but can’t promise that). Thanks for the suggestion! 🍻
This needs a revisit
No trophy for ages, really under archiver and forgotten one. But it surprise me how they never got relegate yet
Damn I always just thought we started in 1905
Hope you liked the video! 🍻
Very Good just one error. Ian Wright came from non league football Dulwich Hamlet and was not from the Palace youth set up. I think he was 26 when he joined
Thanks for the info Trevor. Always appreciate additional insights as I certainly don’t know everything! Best of luck to Palace 🍻
I’ve watched all these videos for the premier league teams as I try and choose my favorite team. I’m trying not to be the basic American Manchester United fan. So far I’m having a hard time choose between wolves and crystal palace. Anyone have any more resources for information?
Thanks for watching! Good luck choosing a club to support 🍻
Crystal palace
Do the history of bcafc
Hey John! I appreciate the support. I’m actually taking an indefinite break from the channel right now as I go through a personal situation. I hope to be back sometime later this year though. I have some other requests for videos but I’ll add BCAFC to my list. Thanks! 🍻
You missed out Steve Coppell from our notable managers.
My apologies for missing him. Anything you can share about him?
@@TheSoccerTavern No problem. He managed us on four separate occassions, took us to our first FA cup final in 1990, won the Zenit Data Systems Cup and took us to our highest ever top-flight finish (3rd). He also signed a lot of the players you note in the late 80's-90's; Wright from non-league, Geoff Thomas, Nigel Martyn.
Awesome stuff! Thanks for all this background info 👍
🤟🍺⚽️ good video, subscribe
Thanks wolf! Glad you enjoyed it.
