  • Filmed during the Russian siege of Mariupol, “20 Days in Mariupol", is an Academy Award-winning documentary about devastation on one side and hope on the other.
An Oscar-winning documentary, whose Lithuanian filmmaker was killed making it, should shock and move MEPs to step up support for Ukraine against the Russian invasion, says the EPP Group's Sandra Kalniete of Latvia.
She joined the director, Mstyslav Chernov and Mayor of Mariupol, Vadym Boychenko, with MEPs at a cross-party screening in the European Parliament.
Kalniete says all parliamentarians across Europe should see the film "to understand the urgency of the situation."
