What you're saying is spot on; life has so many paths that just cannot be foreseen. Many of these things are going to happen whether or not you are married. When you find the right person, going through these things are much more endurable since you share the load with the person you love. On the other hand, some issues arise due to marriage itself. But it's these things that can make a marriage stronger. In our opinion, it is how you interact with the one you're with that helps to alleviate the stresses of these occurrences.
