Really was an awesome day and thank you so much for making us do the full circuit for the first time. as tempting as that return via River Nidd is I knew you would be the pair to get us over the full circuit. So much history and variety on that hike. Absolutely fantastic day, i keep laughing at the “two tickets for Jaws please” line, it really tickles me. Hopefully our bottoms won’t break the internet! Absolutely ready for our winter hike! 👍

Lovely hike though the hills on the outside of town, Jill, Nick, Karen and Steven. Pateley Bridge was a quaint and beautiful town. Oh Yeah! 🤣🤣 Bottoms up on Bottom Road. Stunning rock formations at the end. Ah, the "summer breeze makes me feel fine" too. 😁😁 Cocktails help too. Beautiful tour!
Thank you Dave and Kathy ♥️ Yes we really love Pateley Bridge, have stayed there a few times over the years too, there is so much to see and do in the area. Some of our MPs and TV personalities live in Pateley Bridge which is testament to what a nice place it is. from the second you set foot in the town there is a real sense of community and overwhelming pride. its a delight to visit it must be about as close to perfection as one can get to actually live there!

I remember the last time you went to Pateley Bridge and Brimham Rocks me saying I must go back to both of those places - still not done either yet. So nice to see the sun again and a warm day, I miss both so much and is sure was 'absolutely stunning when you were out on the moors - what a view, the heather looked awesome! Years ago Mrs Metalman used to work for an animal feed company and she would go to Pateley Bridge show every year, always enjoyed it and watching this makes me want to go there now..., well, as soon as the sun is out the it is warm anyway. Prefer the alpaca's to the lamas to be honest (less spitting) but what a great thing for the kids to do and a lot of great Brimham Rocks history. Yeah I am a NT member and I remember climbing all over those rocks with my two lads while Mrs Metalman and out daughter sat and watched, about 30 years ago - happy memories! Cheers Alan
gosh its worth a National Trust membership just to park at Brimham Ricks for free. ive not really used the English Heritage membership that much, I’ll probably give National Trust a membership when my EH runs out. is that right about the Alpacas? gosh didn’t know that was a thing. I will want to go Alpaca hiking instead! I do remember having a camel ride when I was younger and those things don’t half spit! id love to go to the Pateley Bridge show, thats right up our street, sadly it’s always around the time of Jills birthday and our Anniversary so we will probably be away. its a lovely route this one, it’s the first time we have done the full circuit as whichever hill you climb, the one to Yorke Folly or the one to Brimham Rocks there is always a great way to cut the walk in half and have a lovely stroll along River Nidd. we met Tramp in the Hills in the knowledge that they would make us do the full route. I’m sure we all slept well that night, it’s a good 12 miles and at least 2000 foot in overall ascent. got lots more sun to bring you, hopefully enough to take us through to the real sun returning!

A beautiful day out, just have everything, stunning scenery, a very lovely town, cute animals, including a shepherd with sheep dog, llamas being taken for a walk and then finishing it off with really interesting rock formations. (I just would have added a cream tea somewhere!😄)

I absolutely love the nature aspect of this place and area. And seeing all the green and beautiful views, the sheep and rocks. Top of the world for sure lol😅. That's interesting about the plates colliding. 😮 Those rocks were so unique. Loved the singing 😂❤

That's sooo lovely there and I would love that sweetshop ! Nice that you had Tramp and Karen with you and the weather was gorgeous for you. The views were amazing and the heather really pretty . Yorkes Folly was interesting and Pateley Bridge a gorgeous place. Those llamas were adorable and the history here was fascinating. Loved the natural rock formations but don't go jumping off ! I haven't done rock climbing and abseiing in a few years but that looks like it would be a great place to do it 😃👍~ Anna

Hi Paul thanks for your comment we have never been in a hiking club but Steven who is with us in this video who has a channel also does walks as part of a club in South Yorkshire! There are some amazing places and hikes all around Yorkshire isn’t there I’m sure there are plenty of hiking clubs! Really nice film Nick & Jill from a beautiful area of Yorkshire. So good to have not only a Gate Of The Week but also a Style Of The Week. Spent a weekend once climbing at Brimham Rocks, that was so many years ago you and Jill would still have been in school. Nice to see Steven & Karen and I remember their film of this particular walk, check it out. You were all right to protect your legs from the dreaded ticks but Steven was wise in waring long strides. absolutely Steven was the sensible one. I think I might don them this year, as much as I like wearing shorts in the summer it’s not worth the risk when walking in the countryside, the statistics of the ticks is awful. unbelievably after leading Karen and Steven astray in the overgrowth none of us had any ticks on us, thats a first for us! 👍

yes its very perverse seeing these videos now. Temperatures rarely get above freezing and the skies are forever grey! love that shepherd struggling with the sheep, he must have held up traffic for about half an hour at that junction. every time we thought all the sheep the way he wanted, one cheeky one would escape and as he would race to chase it another dozen would run off in every direction. Absolutely hilarious! thats a great idea I would love to revisit Pateley Bridge and just chat to some of the shop owners, get their opinion on why the town is so successful and thriving. we must have kept Steven and Karen waiting for hours whilst we kept bumbling those tongue twisters of lines! thank you so much for awesome comment and great support! all our love ♥️

Aww what a wonderful day with lovely, fun & might I add fit, ( gosh, how many miles? haha !!) company too. Pateley Bridge is one of those names that you hear but have no idea what it is like or where it is ... well I won't be able to say that again!! What a smashing destination ... the little town looked lovely with the independent shops and beautiful gardens obviously well tended and cared for. You got great weather, the heather at its best looks so beautiful but also lots of interesting features with both gate and, and turnstile of the week ... wonderful !! But .. there's is still more with a folly, bridges and a waterwheel not to mention the stunning views. Have to say my favourite was Brimham Rocks. I'd seen a picture before and though "naaa" that must be photo shopped haha ... and so quiet !! Thanks for this Nick & Jill .. I'll soon have to get a bigger bucket for my ever growing list haha

yes I’ve been warned about the llamas. had a similar experience with Camels a few years back. we are down for some trekking with one or the other!
I'm guessing was from last Summer with the tshirts on. Looked a lovely day for a hike in an equally lovely area. I've never heard of it nor any of the places you visit. No slamming the gates or Steve will have your guts for garters. Those cows were very nice letting you thro even if they did give you a stare. The folly looked rather cool but those rocks were the best bit, oh and the trig bagging. Thanks for showing me around somewhere I've never been 👍Paul

Pateley Bridge looks worth a visit. I've wanted to visit Brimham Rocks for some time as it's an obvious photographer's playground. From other videos I've seen it does get busy though, you seemed to have it to yourselves. Great video Nick and Jill with special cameos from Steve and Karen.
thank you so much Andy, I think by the time we arrived it was probably after 5 so most people were leaving. its probably the best time to arrive as the rocks look absolutely magnificent at sunset. if you are A National Trust member it is free to park also! 👍

thank you guys, yes we have stayed in Pateley Bridge a fair few times, we do love it there. So much to see and do in the immediate area. we only scratched the surface with this one. there are great mine works, reservoirs and a short distance away splendid waterfalls and neighbouring villages. we used to live on the west coast and holiday on the East Coast, Pateley Bridge was always the welcome halfway point between the two destinations. I knew my holiday had officially started when we hit Pateley Bridge! hope you are having a smashing weekend! 👍

We marvelled at that Shepherd for quite a while, it is just something you don’t often see but I bet it’s something that annoys workers in the local area and titillates onlookers like us on an almost daily basis. He must have held up traffic for half an hour at that junction and boy we enjoyed every second! its always an honour to meet up with Steven and Karen, they have so much knowledge and hiking expertise. you could drop either one of them blindfolded in any corner of the UK and they would know exactly where they were! have squirrelled away a fair few summer videos, hopefully by the time these end we shall have the return of the blue skies and longer days! thank you so much for watching, hope you have an awesome weekend! ♥️⛰️
