They are trying to make it real. As real as they wish it was. It's creepy honestly. The Boys is a dehumanizing ,desensitizing, disgusting show about removing heros from actually existing. Giving badguys a simpathetic background so that the "men" out there can feel emasculated by Homelanders actions.
