One of my favorite forms of filmmaking, is the ability to tell stories without having to use dialogue. Which is something Pixar does wonderfully!!!!!!!
Fun fact: Gary Rydstrom, the writer/director of this short, is a very well respected sound designer, going back to the Terminator 2 days. The multitude of switches is meant to evoke what a sound mixing console looks like to the uninitiated.
Gary Rydstrom was also the original writer and director of the canceled Pixar film called "Newt," which was supposed to be a love story of the last two blue-footed newts on earth that would try to save their species. It was shelved because the concept sounded a lot similar to the Blue Sky film "Rio".
The guy's name is Ernie, and the reason he looks so much like Linguini, is because he was actually meant to be the earlier design for him, until Pixar changed him.
The funny part about this is that this is basically an alien interpretation of a drivers test on how your supposed to abduct a earthling from his home... It's really funny to me! XD
I loved this show when I was a little kid, one time I saw this when I was young and I was over tired so when the chubby alien's chest caved in at 4:13, I started crying thinking that he's always be that way forever. LOL
I saw this short film in a movie theater playing ratatouille. Because the human man looked so much like linguini from the movie I thought that the alien abduction was the reasons his hair controlled his body as shown in the film when he and remmy the rat are cooking. It was years later that I realized it was just a big coincidence.
I laughed so hard, a bathroom case... These are made by such incredibly talented people, slightly twisted minds and a whole lot of money: a perfect mix. Thanks for the upload. Ouiiiii, un autre, un autre!
'twisted minds' i would genuinely considder that offensive. twisted minds means something is off the hook with the developpers. the script writers have a great sens of humor, they're not mentally ill like you're stating.
I said ''slightly'' twisted minds and I meant it as a compliment, as in 'out of the box thinking' kind of. Mentally ill is exactly the opposite of what I meant, sorry you took it in such an offensive way. But we're never gonna survive unless We get a little crazy No we're never gonna survive unless We are a little, crazy... - Seal (from his song ''Crazy'')
If you watch a very very funny episode of SNL, for example, you might think: Boy, these people are crazy! Would you mean by that mentally ill? Take care and good luck with the game.
This is like taking ur driving lesson’s test and omg, when I was a kid watching this, I was LMAO 😂so hard and I still laughed at it so many times and this is why Pixar is good at making those short films like this

1:20 "Di-di-deh-det-buh-buv … buh … dit-dit-dit … dit … " The closest thing we ever get to a piece of dialogue in this short is that nervous stutter.
