I’m a natural born U.S. citizen and I come here everyday, to CZcams, to check in on the Ukraine War. I’ve done this since the invasion started and I’ll do this until Russia is defeated. Ukraine, you are not alone. Millions of people around the world love you and DESPERATELY want to help you with whatever you need. I’m sorry the U.S. is such a mess. We are basically at war with ourselves at the moment and it’s tragic timing. Sending love to all suffering through this.

I just sent a message to my Congressman, Andre Carson of Indiana. He has not yet signed the discharge petition. He had emailed me that he fully supported Ukraine. He does not support Israel. I asked for an explanation. He will not get my vote unless he signs this petition. He is not supporting his constituents.

in finland, all houses built during certain years have had an obligation to have a certain amount of wood stoves per person, so that incase there is no electricity or district heating people would not freeze if russia bombed our infrastructure.

All it takes is for a majority vote called by anyone to force the rules committee to discharge the bill without the rules committee or speakers permission. Almost everything in the house can be done at will by simple majority because the house is the chamber of naked democracy. It was done in 2015 on a bill regarding the export bank. The speaker doesnt even directly control the release of bills to the floor, although he has a good deal of influence over the rules committee.

ANYONE blaming a small group (or individual) for this bill not getting voted on is manipulating your ignorance of the process for political benefit. Please remove "the" before Ukraine. The name of the country is not "the Ukraine". It's just Ukraine. Adding "the" before it implies that the territory is literally "the frontier" or border between Russia and Europe. When you say "the Ukraine", you're implying that you think Ukraine is part of Russia.

As a Brit I have had my fair share of cause to complain about our government and about Mr Cameron (as he was when PM) specifically - it was his blitheness which allowed Brexit to happen. That said, I don't deny that of all those contributing, other than the US, the UK is right up there - but it all feels a bit ungracious and unenthusiastic. We MUST ALL be prepared, if necessary, to actually take a cut in living standards. I went with out heat both the last winters - it was cold and uncomfortable for sure - but it gave me just one percent of the discomfort of the Ukrainians. Moreover, while everyone else was moaning about their energy bills, mine went down. I actually had extra money and was able to donate to the Ukraine war effort...
