This is a nice one! I was messing around designing a kelp farm two days ago, and came up with something similar but this is better and more compact. Also, you could place waterlogged stairs facing into the inside of the farm at the same height of the pistons to regenerate the source blocks as soon as the piston retracts. It's not as aesthetic as the glass, It might improve the rates a little tho.
Was messing around this this design... I think it should work to extend the growing chambers towards center, to 8 blocks long, and then have a 3x1 drop chute with fence gates, probably not worth it but you would have 12 more kelp plants per section within the same footprint. But again, placing 30 fence gates per section is a bit ugly and annoying. From the short bit of testing it seems to be working

Nice! also most are a pain in the butt to get the water rinning just the right wway
I noticed you mention this farm produces 9 stacks of kelp but your kelp smoke slice consumes 11. Why not increase the height of this module to 4 layers of kelp, if I'm correct that would produce around 12 stacks which would pair great with the smoker slice.
Hi! 😊 You’re quite right! Easy “fix” to do it like that. The reason I did not give it much thought is probably that I would do it a bit differently in “real life” after playing around with the mechanics for a while now. The one slice solution is maybe a bit over complicated.
Hey Bud, just saw the video where u emulated Bdubs brutalism style. Would you mind also trying to immitate and explain the style he used for his big bridge in his building with Bdubs serious? I can‘t seem to get it right somehow …
Hi 😊 as I remember it’s a large diagonal bridge … that is always complicated to master … but it’s not so much a style as specific building experience I think. And as I remember he does not go into much detail or show many closeups

Could i reduce the number of pistons needed by using one piston with the max number of slime blocks attached in a row?
Hi😊 Yeah! You should be able to - since slime does not stick to scaffolding. But then you need a non sticky block behind them.
