it's funny how when you beat the penguin side quest Batman says goodbye forever to Mightwing, then you do this and he's like "Hey nightwing"
TheMantisGuy In that case it probably took place before the penguin side mission.
It's Nightwing, not Mightwing.
I prefer to play this mission and the other SOI missions after the main game.
Probably depends on when the player does the penguin mission or if the player chooses to do this mission in between, but I do agree it's funny how after beating penguin Batman says his goodbyes and then this.
it's probably because this mission is a DLC that was added later
Let’s be real, Croc is probably one of, if not has one of the most tragic backstories in the franchise:
•He was born with a skin disease that causes him to mutate overtime
•His mother died after giving birth
•His father disowned him
•He was abused and beaten by his aunt
•He was bullied at school due to his looks
•He was then pushed to the point where he devours his aunt
•And he was tortured and experimented on
The most tragic part of the backstory, for me, is how at one point, when he joined the circus, he actually felt accepted for once and felt like he had friends and family, but even that bit of joy was taken away from him when some of the people of Gotham killed the other circus members. Had croc continued as part of the circus, he never would've become a criminal.
well, one thing i don't really like the design of Crocs in AK is why the developer cut his legs short, compare to the previous design in Arkham series?

Love the fact that Croc actually helps his henchman to get back on their feet once they are knocked down
If croc had a more serious part in the game, He'd be more of a boss than other villains, He'd care for them unlike other people since not all criminals are fully bad, but there are the bad apples in the bunch
@WaspBlade04 Well after Waylon probably mauled Jonathan can you blame him
@@WaspBlade04100% agreed, given the fact most people on earth aren’t psychopaths or sociopaths, most criminals of all kinds also aren’t psychopaths or sociopaths.
The vast majority of criminals, no matter how hardcore and far they’re willing to go to achieve the goals, still have limits, morals, principles, a personal code.
An excellent example is how few criminals are willing to put children in harms way, or worse actually harm children, they’d prefer to die than do so, just as Tony Montana did in Scarface.
Living with that in the back of your mind is a fate infinitely worse than death.
Almost all criminals only seek a better life, they’re disadvantaged, often from the very beginning, raised in awful environments and conditions with few if any positive role models, oftentimes they don’t even have a single parent in their lives and are deprived of what they need.
We’re only animals at the end of the day, eventually we lash out at the world and attempt to improve our circumstances by almost any means necessary, and sometimes the ways we do so are the only ways we know how to do so, due to no other apparent opportunities and/or being raised that way by terrible people.
Tragic events and circumstances are what create the majority of criminals, it’s always been that way and it always will be unless we as a society work to change it, investing the time, effort, and resources is essential for this purpose.
I love Cash's character development on Croc. He lost his hand due to him and its reasonable he's vicious towards him in the first game. But in the final, despite Croc getting the same treatment, Cash feels remorseful on what happened to Croc. He's not as harsh towards him in his capture. I'd say that's something. Shows progress.
Yeah but he is still a little angry over what Croc did gicen that Croc losing a hand isn't a big deal when it can grow back but I agree it does show Cash is possibly seeing the man who is behind the monsterous features.
@@blackdemonknight It's rather understandable why Cash's sympathy towards Croc has it's limits. Because if someone bit off my hand and joked about it, I would have a hard time forgiving them. At least Cash is still able to look at the bigger picture, otherwise he would've let the warden go as a thanks for torturing Croc.
@@sparkshark789 Yeah but he doesn't for 2 reasons, 1) Batman would prevent him from letting the warden go and that was if he was even considering it and 2) Croc might be a monster but the Warden is more so for litteraly using his inmates as human lab rats.
Scarecrow, on the other hand would probably enjoy Croc's torture if he'd seen it given Croc fucked him up in Asylum. Knight should have had an interaction between them.
I mean Cash hated Croc even before he lost his hand, honestly I feel like Croc targeted Cash specifically because of that pre existing grudge.
I'm surprised Scarecrow wasn't after croc's head in this game, they're definitely not fans of each other...

What I loved the most about this mission and Season of Infamy in general is how much they felt like Arkham City and Asylum, the Cutscenes, the Atmosphere and the Linear nature of the levels in the DLC made me feel really nostalgic, not to say that Arkham Knight is bad in fact it's my favorite Arkham game, it's just there was a charm and feel to the older games that Arkham Knight kinda lost.
The problem was the boss fights. In Arkham knight the boss fightss were just tank and a very mediocre red hood fight. Arkham City and asylum had amazing boss fights but storywise they weren't the best. City had a better story than asylum. But Arkham knight has the best story of all the Arkham games in my opinion

@@MrPersonalityProductions A bit too slow on his part unfortunately
Actually really loved this level. I honestly have never thought of Killer Croc as a villain. He's just a victim of a very very bad situation where he is pushed to do bad things to survive. Not only that but he was also abused all of his childhood by almost everyone he encountered, which considering his power, would definitely require great restraint, which he had to eventually get rid of in order to survive. Seeing Croc as the victim in this DLC was pretty cool, and the character of Croc is definitely one that may even have a road to redemption unlike many other Batman villains. Also the tail was badass xD
I think Croc would make a AWESOME hero, but with all that happened, i think he hates mankind for that

"Whatever happens here is between you two. I just wanted to make sure everyone else was safe."
I always thought how it was cool that when it comes to Killer Croc and Mr. Freeze, the way the characters are written are always sort of meant to tug at your heart strings, if only a little. I know how DC likes to play around with that idea that it only takes one bad day to become bad, but you always seem to find a way to understand Croc and Freeze a little more than most villains.
Can I just say I love this new design for Croc. All of his designs in the Arkham series have been great but this one is now my personal favourite. I think the tail and sharper scales are what really add to the new look.
Except his weird belly like he looks menacing till you see his muffintop
I still think Arkham Origins is the best version.
I feel like they just downgraded him in this.
@@isaacgarciamedina6506arkham origins is a bit lame, a big green guy with fangs
This looks absurd and doesn’t work with the realistic style of the game. It reminds me of the second 90s MK movie where they do animalities and turn into Playstation characters.
I love how Rocksteady portrayed Croc's mutations in a comic accurate manner instead of taking the lazy way out and saying he has a 'skin condition' like everyone who has NEVER READ A COMIC WITH KILLER CROC IN IT have said.
It's not a skin condition. Silver age Croc claimed it was because he looked mostly human. In the Knightfall arc (AND YES THIS IS A CANON EXPLANATION AND NOT A THEORY), Bane broke Croc's arm which triggered his metagene further (YES CROC IS A METAHUMAN) and caused him to acquire a healing factor. The healing factor can, well, heal him, but it also worsens his genetic atavism and makes him delve further into a mutated state.
There was this whole comic arc where Hush infected Croc with a virus that aggrevated his metagene further and caused him to grow a tail and resemble the Arkham Knight rendition, too. Then he was cured by it by a scientist, but he still started mutating because the virus left his cells continually aggravated.
THIS is Killer Croc.
While I agree in AA it says he was bullied by his alcoholic Aunt because of his skin codition
Trozza Bee Anything can be defined as a 'condition'. If I have a hang nail, I can call it a 'nail condition'.
Scales qualify as a skin condition but that doesn't negate any of the facts I stated. He clearly doesn't just have a rash.
Funny how you mention the skin condition not being a thing but him being a mutant is, then going on about how people that talk about the skin condition thing are wrong, yet they pretty much say that in the first issues that feature him. Bane breaking his arm didn't trigger anything, he was a guinea pig for scientists back on Arkham, and became more inhuman each time, sometimes even losing the ability to speak and other time behaving like a complete animal.
The Hush virus was just that, a virus, it didn't aggrevate nothing, it mutated him into a more crocodile-like creature. I mean have you read his origins for either the original or New 52 universes? Neither talks about a mutation.
This character right here isn't Killer Croc, it's Killer Croc on Lizard steroids.
A S R New 52 is not what Rocksteady is basing this after
I have read his origin for the original, and it was RETCONNED, as I stated, to not just be a skin condition. It was a skin condition in the golden age because they wanted to be grounded in reality.
Jason Kelly I remember all of that. Hush really fucked Croc up. I actually felt pretty bad for him.
¿Are there no Joker hallucinations in this missions? It would be amazing... "So Croc got his arm chopped off huh? Poetic injustice! Remember old Cash, Batsie? I'm sure he'd found that funny."
Yeah, that is weird they didn't record Joker lines for Croc, Mad Hatter and Ra's al Ghul. Either they just assumed everybody would save these missions until last, or they couldn't hold on to Mark Hamill.
ExplorerDS6789 Well I think it's cuz in this point in time Batman has gotten rid of the Joker by making him being forgotten. So I guess it would make sense that Joker hallucinations aren't in this Season nor the DLC.
^It wouldn't make any sense, because you can play this missions before final "showdown" with Scarecrow.
Because rocksteady does not want to confuse the players I guess.
Most people will play the DLCs after the first playthrough, so they added this one without Joker. Gamers would think a this point, that he is cured. Thats why.
@@Ziomaletto Croc and the warden says Wayne instead of Batman when they are put in cell. I don't know either tho
My favorite scenes are when both Nightwing and Batman double team against Croc. It shows both how in-sync they both were while also demonstrating the amount of difficulty it takes to bring Croc Down.
Croc in this game is at the level of Bane in Origins, but I think that is more about coordination and not get caught in his attacks.
Dualplay more superhero games need to use it. But it is badass no words spoken until the end.

I will forever feel bad for Croc. Poor dude didn’t ask for any of this. 😢
I especially feel bad for him because they state that his condition is made worse by trauma. If you notice, right before you fight him he's still talking in complete sentences and speaking normally. But after the fight, he struggles to talk in complete sentences, saying things like "I escape once. I escape again". There's a good chance that beating that Batman and Nightwing gave him ended up making his condition worse again.
It's really sad how everyone in the Arkham series, whatever their alignment, calls Croc "it", "animal" and "thing".
Goes to show how almost far gone he is. How, objectively speaking, that's what he is now.
They also call him, "subject" and "creature" which is saddening. It seems only Batman considers him human as he uses the pronoun "he" and sometimes calls him by his name "Jones".
People have come to see him as an animal and Jones seems to have come to see himself that way too. You get treated like a dumb animal or a monster long enough and eventually that can be what you become. Killer Croc seems to think that if he cannot be made "normal" then he will be forever separated from the rest of the human race sadly not without reason. One thing I notice is that even in Arkham Origins (Please humor me, I think it is canon to this series even if it is not the same) Batman seems to show pity for Croc when talking to Alfred about him noting that growing up the way he did could not have had a positive effect on him. While I condemn his cannibalism and crimes, I feel that to a great extent he is what the world has made him, at least this version of him.
Batman says "he" "him" and "Jones" though?
He does because he stills seeks Jones as human which is why he brings him to prison and addresses him like anyone else he talks to there.
Damn, I feel so sorry for Croc. All his life he was treated real shitty. Now he has been treated even shittier. The guy just can't catch a break. You can't really blame him for hating humanity. Still, I wish Rocksteady stuck with his Arkham Asylum design. They just couldn't let the Arkham Knight model they made go to waste can't they?
I kinda hope in the future games Killer Croc would be a neutral ally or anti-hero to Batman. Like in his Prime Earth counterpart. A bleak possibility, but I can dream.

Loved this and the origins design, origins because you can kinda feel that theres some humanity left in him there, and this one cause hes brutal and savage, on all fours like a real croc

The more trauma he experiences the more he becomes bigger and crocodile like

I'm only at 2:33 and this is already incredible. It invokes that "Arkham City feeling" that the main story never managed to. Mostly because it's more intimate and focuses more on creepy interior atmospheres and not just Batmobile Batmobile Batmobile.
You're thinking of Asylum.
+supermysticsonic2 And City! They had the gritty atmosphere that this game never managed to retain. It's because the grimy and dark look was lost to all the militia shit and those goddamn tank battles.
All 4 of these dlcs gave me that City and asylum feel. 10 bucks well spent imo
your not batman
Clown Chuckles you're*
"I hesitate to say safety, sir. It is Gotham" Alfred got me laughing so hard with this one
The voice actor for the Warden in this mission also played Otto Octavius in Spider-Man on PS4, and
Damn
Why do I love the idea of Doc Ock experimenting on Killer Croc
Just mod the game to replace Nightwing’s Model with Spider Man’s and we have our crossover
i thought it was just on my head for a second there, the warden definitely sounded very familiar with doc ock
Actually that Warden's VA is Dee Bradley Baker not William Salyers.
I loved the level design and build up to the final fight, but it's really depressing how every boss fight in this game is the same.
That being said, I do love the movement of Croc in this game. He fought like an alligator trapped in a man's body. It was awesome!
Killer croc's awesome, my favorite batman villain
and the design here, hella monstrous, the longer waist and fattish croc face with the elephantman feet were creative
Gotta say with Croc’s scaley armour, ferocity and strength this boss fight was really disappointing (not just cos it’s recycled from Albert King’s who was just a boxer)
Your goal is to literally fight everyone but Croc and then just mash the attack button and casually press counter when it says so.
Given Croc’s state he is DEFINITELY a boss Batman shouldn’t beat with fists.
This should’ve taken strategy, used the environment and possibly used a chase sequence.
Why not have Aron Cash and the police involved, Cash could finally get payback or maybe die fighting Croc or saving Batman from him or something. But no, it’s just a fist fight and it’s a shame because Waylon Jones could be portrayed as Batman’s MOST tragic villain but they barely give any emotion towards that and at the end of this series of games, in their last confrontation Croc just gets beat up and locked away again
I agree. This DLC was cool but some aspects with this one and the Mad Hatter especially were disappointing. Taking on Killer Croc in a fistfight was lazy and just nonsensical.
That was one of the best coolest missions ever on this most wanted. Nightwing is one of my favorites, just as that criminal was going to say "we're going to.. then gets kicked in the face.
i really love Croc has there ever been a time where people tried to cure him in the comics or anything?
@Someone Special Welp
@Someone Special that sucks
@Someone Special Did he do it because he got hungry, or because he found out she had no desire to really cure him?
@Someone Special yeah I want to know too
@@dareshadow1015 She told Waylon after months of hard work and research that it wasn't possible.
Wait why couldnt they just send croc to a tropical island where they just feed him stuff and he could be a friendly crocodile 🐊
Adrian Berisha cuz he doesn’t wanna look like that he wants to be human again
Adrian Berisha Hell just send them to one on populated part of Africa or into the middle of the Amazon rainforest a few dead poachers won’t hurt anyone
Imagine crashing on that island and finding him!
@@charlottewalnut3118 not unless they come snooping around and find a giant meta crocodile man then they'd panic and treat him as if he was a monster which is what they mostly do to him is treat him like an animal.😐
Isuaro Molina No I’m pretty sure in Africa he would be worshiped as a God especially once they figure out that his skin is completely bullet proof
"there's only one monster here" is my favorite line in the entire game
15:36 - 15:42 Thanks for the dumb-dumb lines, I wasn't following until they explained it again.
Pretty sure he was explaining what happened to nightwing
@@oKiterrrr ... Nightwing is in the room with him. What, is Dick an idiot *okay you have a point*
The double takedowns batman and knightwing do on croc are the coolest things ever
I actually feel sorry for Croc, despite his bad moments in the past, this DLC showed me that there is some part of him that isn't all bad
冴島 大河Xx Hypercosmo1 xX what part is that?
The way that this mission is played, it's hard not to speculate that Bruce Wayne himself is actually behind the controller. All the timing and intuitional decissions are impeccable.
10:45- that little sequence shows why I adore the fear multi-takedown
I get they mutated Croc but a Tail is too much IMO. He's a human with a skin condition, not a f***ing Crocodile man. He's not The Lizard from Spiderman.
+Joshua Bellis well they mutated him even worse. i'm pretty sure in comic he also look like this.
EDIT : he look worse in comic. in comic he's like coming from some fantasy surreal world.
+Bronze Gremlin ...well, yeah, but he evolved more and more. Look at Origins Croc before looking at Asylum Croc. Granted the timeskip, but I think that he'd more or less end up looking like this if it went naturally. They experimented on him, which hastened and quite possibly made his condition worse than it would've been.
+Bronze Gremlin Really? I thought that was the best look of them, with this one a strong second. Never really liked the more human-ish Croc.
Good luck Bronze, hope you have a blast playing the DLC, I'm really jealous :P
It's not a skin condition, Croc actually shares part of his genes with lizards
+Bronze Gremlin Ah no, it's just that I don't have the season pass and I am low on cash so I can't get the DLC either way :(
im calling bullshit on the fight. in arkham origins, years before this, crocs skin was thick enough to be resistant to high-powered rifles. batman DID beat him, but with the help of giant explosive containers. now hes bigger, stronger, AND has a healing factor? punches, no matter how strong or the training, are gonna even phase him. i dont care how good nightwing and batman are theres no way they ever could have won in that situation.
pt 2 when he was being escorted by the gcpd and cash, his tail was free and he coulda easily whipped all of them with it and gotten away, jumped off the roof into the water and survived. maybe with some injuries, but he has a fucking healing factor so...
+KJ Jammrok Probably because it would be hard to fight croc in a sewer,It can probably be possible to fight him in a flat area.
Ik this is late asf but tbh they both studied crocs fighting style over the years arkham Batman and nightwing are peak human asf lowball they mastered all forms of Martial arts known to man and all types of escape artistry and Batman specifically Is in a op ass suit so tbh croc gets folded out of water easily
@@rawwej i mean, at a point none of that matters if you're up against an hulk-sized, heavily armored, sentient beast with a healing factor. given everything it takes to restrain him its just a hard sell for me that 2 humans can just punch him until he's tired if he's only gotten stronger/more durable over the years. the dual predator takedowns with robin in the main story are pretty brutal though, those definitely could do it. ig I wish they would have done a dual stealth mission for batman and his OG kid nightwing, this woulda been a cool chance to do it. kind of a mix between origins final bane fight, (too powerful to fight head-on) and the robin/batman dual stealth from the studio mission. was definitely still good to see croc again tho
13:32 My favourite part, Nightwing is my favourite superhero in the whole game and always will be
This game is so underrated it’s literally a masterpiece I wish they did a movie of it !
Yeah I do too but they’d just have to do Parts of City Of Fear since it takes around 9-10 hours to beat that mission Alone. so they’d have to cut a lot even from that. It just feels like a bit of a job to cut down city of fear to say two and a half hours and still keeping the story great.
Steve Blum reprises Killer Croc. I can't put a finger on who voiced Warden Ranken though.
Best Croc ever.
The warden is Dee Bradley Baker. The same actor they used for Arkham Ras al Ghul.
@Jonathon Banasiak my mind: 💥💥💥
@@trueblue6201 I thought he voice Rigby from regular show
@jacobthedragon7450 You are thinking of William Salyers.
7:40 thanks Alfred now the guard knows our identity
This game honestly has one of the best dlc out of any video game for how big the main story is
The part where Nightwing said “Its that aftershave” was classic
I feel bad for Croc, all things considered.
killer croc is huuuuuuggggggeeeeeee
Titan will do that to a man
+BoringMan That actually isn't Titan,That's Croc's own condition worsening.
+BoringMan Yeahh, the Arkham Asylum Titan endings are not canon.
Trump anyone?
+shin jinyi Arkham Origins killer croc wasn't even close to this size.
Batman's interaction with the warden has got to be one of my favorite scenes in the Arkham games
Killer croc getting experimented on is a deep low. The warden deserves to be locked up as well. Batman and Nightwing did their jobs well.
I feel pretty horrible for croc, every bit of trauma he feels just makes his condition worse seeing how he's locked up again that's more trauma, because of his appearance of standing on all fours I'd say he be a giant crocodile with human intelligence and I mean something like deinosuchus with the ability to speak English, fucking. terrifying.
Wait since batman was able to cure man bat from being what he is, can't he do that for croc?
+A Bird Killer Croc was born this way.
Man bat (Kirk Langstorm) did an experiment trying to cure deafness but managed to turn himself into a vampire bat but killer croc (Weylon Jones) was born with a rare disorder causing him to be a mutant lizard
+Imperial Guard
Apples to oranges. Killer Croc was born with his medical condition, so there's not getting rid of it short of manipulating ones own DNA, which might be fatal as his healing factor might be the only thing keeping him alive at this point. Man-Bat on the other hand was the result of an experiment to try and find a cure for Kirk's chronic deafness.
That's a good point, the equipment at Kirks lab is pretty advanced, on the screen it showed the human part of Man bats dna being turned into an antidote so if u took Crocs dna then it could work the same way
Wryse croc is at the point of no return, he is fully beast now.
As of posting this comment, I'm doing the part where you search for the parachute guys and it's just as the mission becomes available, so just after you meet up with Nightwing for the first time. As I'm going to the second parachute guy, I fight some of the street thugs, when all of a sudden, JOKER ENTERS THE FIGHT! I knew there were moments where you could see hallucinations of him in random places, but I didn't know he could take the place of random thugs mid-fight! Most bizarre thing I've seen, especially for my first playthrough.
I bet King Shark was on that ship with Croc and Grodd too.
I hope it was chonky shark
i love killer croc he is my favorite villians in batman arkham
How is he your favorite
Kos Va ok spiderman
Masterpro 098 umm that’s not a question, it’s a opinion
@@joncraddock1615 idk maybe cause he big and I like crocodiles, so long as they don't bite me.
Mine is Joker
6:16 RKO with his legs mid air
Beneath The Surface was a really unique side mission. I love how all the Arkham stories match with their missions. In Asylum he was the predator, the immovable animal that was gluttonous & violent. In this one he is the victim of animal testing (Hence why I'm against animal testing). He wanted revenge but Batman knew Waylon had to be apprehending for killing innocent people on the airship. I don't blame the guards & doctors they are only doing what they were told to support their families. It's the warden that was the prime problem. My prediction is that Ranken tried experimenting with Gorilla Grodd & tried weaponizing his condition before they apprehend Waylon Jones.
There were no innocent people on that airship they were all helping with the experiments. They were all monsters, and they deserve to be eaten.
7:34 did Alfred said Master Bruce front of guard ? Damn man..
Batman is the only one who can hear Alfred also everyone already knows who he is
Batman is the only one who can hear Alfred also everyone already knows who he is
If I were Batman I would let Croc kill the warden and then take him the down, the bastard deserves to be mauled by a giant lizard man
Benjamin Astaburuaga a fucking men
Dude. When you rescued the second Iron Heights guard...that was the most epic series of takedowns I've seen in this series. Lol props.
