I had an operation 2 months ago, and was confined to bed. While laid up, I found U Tube. I like quite a few Vlogs, but I was addicted to yours! The Caddie, Buick, Mercury Studebaker, The Buick, The Oldsmobile!!!!!, Edsel, LTD Ford station wagon, Ford Pickup, Chev Convert, Camero white, Camero Yellow, Chrysler Imperial, El Camino, Pontiac, Tempest station Wagon, Caddie Convert, GMC Pickup, Chevy Belair, and all the Corvette's. Plus much more. I now have watched every blog you have, and gave a thumbs Up to every one of them. I love the corvettes, But the 50's and 60's cars, are my favorites. My Dad was a Pontiac man, a new one every year, from 58 till 66, when he switched to Caddies. I wish he would have saved one. Thank you and keep them coming! All the best, Mark

60's Cadillacs are great. Used to own a '67 Coupe Deville. High quality cars that were surprisingly fast/quick for their size.

The 1964 is my favorite.
If the floats are sticking you can take a hammer and tap in circular pattern (Not Hard) around the top edge of the carburator and the floats will settle and not flood the engine. Old school trick!
So many 'one man bands' go under because people don't charge (enough) for their own time. Great mechanic - smart businessman.

That is a beautiful car I'm very happy for you it runs well to really runs good sounds like these carburetor work on it but the carburetor is a pretty new to me so I don't know congratulations enjoy it can't wait for the next video
Yep she'll need new soft lines, probably wheel cylinders, master cylinder, possibly front caliper rebuild if that thing has front disc brakes, etc. It's just a fact of life that rubber gets old and either swells up and gets either real soft or real hard. Didn't take a whole lot to get her to run, though.

Please check the “radio music” in the loud background. Some of us are deaf. And I thought it was noisy on my end. I was checking my hearing aid to see if it was messed up? Not sure you need a noise suppressor on your microphone? Great caddy, wish I had it!😀

A cousin had one, just like this one, brand new. It had incredible air conditioning, my aunt would keep extra sweaters in the car for the non-Texans. Car was a real "boat" of sorts, definitely meant for interstate cruising. Haha, interstate highways were still being constructed in 1964.

With that much fuel missing due to carb issue it would be a good idea to check the oil for fuel contamination..you should find oil level beyond full..that has been my experiance in the past, keep up the good work bro, i love the channel
What an excelent timing. I just got my (also white) 64 Cadillac Coupe De Ville ready aswell after 4 months. Had a knock but it turned out to be an exhaust manifold gasket leak. Rebuilt the whole engine before finding it out
Some time ago, I was at a dinner party and talking with a friend who is a chest surgeon and in the course of conversation mentioned my recent work changing a clutch "master" cylinder and the need to move some stuff out of the way. He interjected, "That's what we do!" So, there you go.

My grandmother had her carport (a former chickenhouse) extended 4 feet after she bought her '64 Cadillac. The carport is still standing, despite a tree smashing one corner.
Hey Ben , we have similar taste Vettes and Caddys I own my family since new 1986 Coupe Deville, 96 C4 Vette . In the past I owned a 76 Coupe Deville with a 500 as big as your 64 429 beast ! wheelbase 64 129.5 inches 76 Coupe Deville 130 inches

Congratulation for the progress so far. I see I am not tthe only one that has fuel issues with a classic GM fullsize.
My nearly perfect 65 Bonneville Convertible with less than 70000 miles ran perfectly for years and years. But this summer after long trips from time to time it was starving with lack of fuel. Lines are clean, heavy duty fuel pump is brand new, filters, lines everything good. It runs like a champ, but from time to time the problem occurs again. I am afraid I have to remove the tank because maybe there is a screen that is somehow clogged with dirt.
LOL re the owner's manual. As Jay Leno says, the owner's manual used to have all sorts of useful info. Now they just say "Consult your dealer," and "CAUTION: DO NOT DRINK CONTENTS OF BATTERY."
That should have taken care of at least half the fresh gas you put in the tank.

That engine has been painted. Originally caddy blue is a lot darker shade
Ben, that carb looks pretty new. I was surprised then when you concluded it was the carb at fault. Why does it look so good? Had you cleaned it? (Btw next morning @ 12 mins. you have a very easy to hear Mockingbird! love it!!)

What is that component with the splitting crack at 3:32? Looks like the lower control arm, but I’m guessing not since it’s pretty obvious and you didn’t say anything about it.

I have a 64 cadillac I need a passenger front fender, does anyone have one possibly the lower part of that front bumper below headlights passenger side?
