This is why all rescues need time to decompress. I do hospice fosters with a senior rescue and our rule is 3-3-3, 3 days to accept their new reality, 3 weeks to learn the new routine, 3 months to settle in. Snappy is so sweet and a poster dog for giving a bitey reactive dog a chance.
Poor little guy wasn't mean. Only scared.

Poor thing. It's horrible to see him so terrified! I'm so glad you found him and rescued him. He was acting only out of extreme fear. And being badly hurt didn't help at all. I'm so glad you worked with him. He's a little sweetheart!!!!

I'm thinking he was snapping because of his injury. Once the injury was healing after the surgery, "Snappy," didn't need to be so defensive.
At the beginning, it shows the wonderful lady trying to pick him up, and he wanted nothing to do with that. Sure, I get it, any movement with a broken leg must have been extremely painful.
I'm glad Snappy has recovered. Great job to his rescuer.

It's so sad to see a dog who desperately needs love and affection, but is so terrified of people (probably due to past abuse) that they he won't let anyone near them.
I'm so glad that Snappy finally realized that he was surrounded by people who were being kind and gentle with him, and was willing to give being loved a chance. ❤️❤️
@@SabrinaLey-of6lr 99% sure he was abused by a past owner. But there's always that 1% chance that he was a street dog that was just wary of people in general.
Whatever his history is, I'm happy that he is learning that people can be loving, and that he deserves to be loved.
You can tell his fear came from a very real place, unfortunately. He must have really suffered somewhere. Thank you for saving this angel.

Medically speaking, the pup probably wasn’t “Snappy”; he was in PAIN & frightened. The poor little guy had a broken leg. Though moving him as necessary, it was also very painful. As he healed & began trusting she wasn’t hurting him on purpose, he came around wonderfully!! 🥰
He was also very scared.
But I'm sure she knows why, and we can also see that it's not his personality but just the situation.

He was probably in just so much pain. I remember my previoua dog, she loved people,but then one day she started snapping at people she used to love, and I noticed it happened when people tried to pet her. Others were saying she was becoming old qnd agressive, and I said no, something is not right. Turns out she had a cancer and was in major pain. After we treated her and managed the pain she went back to cuddling and loving to recieve pets. So remember, dogs dont just get agressive, theres always a reason for their behavior and its important to pay attention to that

Sometimes we find ourselves in their situation so when we rescue an animal one would think there's only one rescue. Nope. There are two: the one being rescued and the one doing the rescue. A lot of the time the one doing the rescue is rescued by the one being rescued.
This woman is an angel.
You could tell from the beginning he wasn't a mean dog, just in pain and I'll be the first to admit when I'm hurting I'm not the nicest person. When he started to get on the mend he started showing his beautiful personality.
