The motivation is so obvious yet so baffling. Matt and Burk write shitty scripts, but are cheap to hire, therefore Sony lets them write pretty much any movie in whatever the fuck this universe is supposed to be, without any ambition other than profit and embracing the fact that these movies are made fun of rather than appreciated. It is just sad and pathetic.

I unsubscribed him as well. Pretty much as soon as he said he wouldn’t give bad reviews anymore I was done. That’s not being a good critic then and I don’t respect that. If you want to make your film fine but don’t use it as an excuse to clearly try and gain favor for yourself. It was incredibly fake on his part and I was done. Chris is a good guy but he’s not a critic anymore.

Came back after watching Stuckmann's non-review. Years ago I bet my money on u and u didn't disappoint. A "mainstream" movie critic who's secretly on our side lol.
It's times like this where I feel bad for Jeremy, yet thankful for him being willing to sit through these kind of movies.

I'm like 3 million years old and when I was 5, I started in on comics. I've been a huge comics fan forever. When 2008 Iron Man came out, I lost my mind with excitement. I've missed the last maybe 5-6 comic movies on purpose, maybe 10. I think I stopped around 2nd Shazam. (Deadpool 3, though).

What's funny about the Raul Julia comparison, if they had kept the comic character design, that of crazed, shoeless, homeless guy in a tattered 3 piece suit, the character would have been the PERFECT vehicle for a theater trained actor to come in and just chew the scenery to bits. But that would have required better writers, casting, and foresight and self reflection on the part of the director.

Just came back from a matinee showing and - I genuinely enjoyed it! Well above Morbius and just below Venom. Does it have the slick feel of an MCU film? Absolutely not. Is it offbeat and over the top at times? Sure. But - Dakota Johnson is fun to watch, the plot is straightforward (well, by comic book movie standards anyway), and the visual effects have a gritty style that I enjoyed. Probably not for everyone, but definitely doesn't deserve the hate it's getting.

I stopped the movie with 30 frikken minutes left to watch some revirlews.. i paused the movie at 70 mins and was like.. what do you mean im already an hour and 10 mins in... Jeremy.. i was ready to walk out of my own living room at 3 mins in, when she was all.. strong independent female, so sweetly thanking her protector for bringing her an umbrella...

Could still be, she wouldn’t be the first actor/actress to cross over. Russell Crowe who plays Zeus is also playing Kraven’s dad and Chiwetell Ejiofor is in Venom 3 though his character is currently unknown.
