  • I bought some P&S Brake Buster a few months ago and have been testing it using different concentrations to see how I get on with it as a wheel and tyre cleaner. I’ve been testing it in an IK Foamer and in a spray format (both neat and diluted) to see how well it performs on some pretty dirty wheels.

Great and honest review Heather! I was keen to try P&S Break Buster since a while, but it’s quite expensive here in the EU and UK. (calculated with neat usage) Seems a decent stuff, that I still want to try, but I like the every day star Surfex HD on wheels & tires, also it very cost effective. An other very informative video on a Sunday night, thank you 🙌

Cheers Viktor! It's definitely worth trying, comes in handy for particularly dirty wheels as long as the brake dust isn't too baked on! It's one of the best tyre cleaners I tried though surprisingly I think that's my favourite way of using it!

I use it via a former leaving it dry initially. I find it works very well at 1/5 on well kept wheels.ondirtier cars I'd likely use something strimger, but as a single product to do it all, it's brilliant.

Great review! I found the same--great for maintenance, less so for really baked-in brake dust. It's my go-to for most things, though, as it's fairly cheap in the US. I've also found Meguiar's All Wheel Cleaner, which is sold in retail stores here, to be surprisingly effective for a cheap, "over the counter" product. For tough stuff, I break out Meguiar's Wheel Brightener.

I totally agree with all your remarks about the brake buster in the foamer. Idk why everyone loves it. I bought a foamer just for that and like you, I find that the foam just runs off so fast and the cleaning power isn't that great, espicially tire wise. I'll use it pure in a sprayer next time.

Good honest review. I use Brake Buster but found Adam's Wheel and Tyre cleaner to have a bit more cutting power. Of course the Adam's product is almost double the price and I doubt either would be able to get rid of that caked in brake dust seen on those rims in the video. You would probably need an iron remover for that(which neither the Adam's or Brake Buster contain).

I personally find that 5:1 is useless because it offers no contactless wash advantages: doesn't brake down tire dirt or anything on the rim. Scrubbing, like in the video, still results in no results. Have to use it straight or 1:1 and I'm sure you are all aware, tire cleaners go quick because you always have to use a lot of product. For a dirty tire, I ended up with 4 passes of straight product to get no more browned foam. Most reviewers do 1 pass and show the tire still wet to "present" that the product cleaned the tire 100% when in fact, to show it worked, they never show reapplication with no more browned foam

you didnt use it on a dry wheel, and you didnt say what colour nozel you were using the IK.. both would have impact.

Dilluting is for the birds 😆...always use out of the bottle for best results

I was stung before with P&S with Bead Maker and said I'd never use one of their products ever again. They are basically CarPlan qualty at Bilt Hamber price.

Ahh that's gutting, I've heard mixed things about Bead Maker to be honest, seems like a love or hate kind of product!

For white/light color vehicles bead maker creates very nice gloss. When I need max gloss after a wash, Bead maker is my go to. Either stand alone or as topping. Durability is short though, only some weeks. Can heartily recommend it for quick and cheap gloss purposes. 😊

Get with the barrel brush girl ....no wheel is really clean without it and use it straight out if the bottle ...its strongest that way

I normally do clean the barrels but just wanted to focus on the areas that were easiest to see for the video :)

Brake Buster is just too expensive to be using neat at €35 for 3.7 litres. It's really only suited to well maintained wheels but if your wheels are very wheel maintained the you'd get away with using auto wheels for a contact less clean

I would not dilute this product. Plus you need to let it dwell before scrubbing it! Thats why its not as effect as it would normally be.

You diluted too much. I use it straight up in the foam cannon. It’s a brilliant tire and wheel cleaner

Most foam cannons will dilute the solution at least by a factor of 10 but I only diluted it by a factor of 5 in the foamer/ spray bottle so it'll be more concentrated here compared to if I used it neat in my foam cannon. The foam consistency would be a lot wetter I imagine though
