That's the nicest thing anyone has said to me today.
Once upon a time, in a small town nestled between rolling hills and serene lakes, lived a young man named Tommy K. Tommy was an avid Magic: The Gathering player, his love for the game ignited in his early teens when his father handed him his first deck. Over the years, his collection grew, but one card held a special place in his heart-Death's Shadow.
Death's Shadow, a creature card with a unique ability that thrived when Tommy's life total was low, fascinated him. Its dark and powerful imagery, combined with the thrilling gameplay it enabled, made it Tommy's favorite. He felt a peculiar bond with the card, as if it had a life of its own.
One summer evening, Tommy sat by the window of his room, the cool breeze carrying the scent of blooming flowers. He shuffled through his deck, his fingers lingering on Death's Shadow. "Who... what are you?" Tommy stammered, unable to believe his eyes.

Tommy's heart raced. This was beyond anything he could have imagined. "Why are you here?"
"To thank you," the Shadow replied. "You have given me purpose, brought me to life in your games. I have felt your excitement, your strategic mind, and your unwavering love for this game. And now, I am here to offer you a gift."
Tommy's curiosity was piqued. "A gift? What kind of gift?"
The Shadow extended a hand, a swirling vortex of darkness forming in its palm. "A bond," it said. "A connection that transcends the game. Together, we can achieve greatness, experience adventures beyond imagination."
Without hesitation, Tommy reached out, his hand merging with the Shadow's. Instantly, a surge of energy coursed through him. Visions of epic battles, mystical realms, and untold wonders flashed before his eyes. He felt an unbreakable bond with the Shadow, a partnership forged in the fires of passion and magic.
From that day forward, Tommy's games were more exhilarating than ever. With Death's Shadow by his side, he became an unstoppable force in the world of Magic: The Gathering. But beyond the game, Tommy felt a sense of companionship, a connection that filled his days with excitement and his nights with dreams of fantastical realms.
Years passed, and Tommy's legend grew. Players from far and wide came to challenge him, but none could match the synergy between him and Death's Shadow. They were more than a player and a card; they were a team, a duo bound by destiny.

Genuine question why not 4 tamiyo
Thanks so much! The easy answer is that 3 has felt right, the long answer is that multiple tamiyo is really really bad, but the first is pretty free to play out and flip. If the meta was more unfair matchups, I'd probably add the 4th and really prioritize trying to flip her, but with a ton of galvanic discharges running around, she's not always the ideal turn 1 play. I like to save my 4 ofs for cards I actively want to play out turn 1 against every deck (thoughtseize, nethergoyf, preordain etc). Obviously not a perfect formula with Shadow existing, but you get the idea.

I fell in love with shadow back in the days with GDS and Traverse, and i try to play it whenever it seems competitive. Your most recent take on Dimir Shadow was my baseline for what i took to MaigcCon Amsterdam. I made it to the Top16 Bracket of the Secret Lair Showdown on Sunday.

Yo! I really appreciate that. And that's awesome that you did so well in Amsterdam! Shadow is absolutely the love of my magic career, and definitely embodies everything I want to be doing in the game, so I get that completely.
@@thecntrlfreak1347Same for me. This new Take espacially reminds me of the old versions, that were really tempo oriented, with Bauble and Wraith in the mix. Felt Like u get an edge in almost every game if u play well enough and can keep up the pressure.

I love always your videos, I also need death´s Shadow in all my decks , one question, how about remove 1 street Wraith and add 1 Murktide at least?? Usually Murktide is a Win condition right? thanks.
You could, I tried a couple leagues early on with 2 gurmag angler, and the impact it had on the yard was still a bit much for nethergoyf. I definitely think you could rework the deck to fit murktide though, like cutting the wraiths altogether for a set of considers, then cutting the 4th goyf for a murk or something like that.

Does this deck just auto scoop to a chalice on 1 with no threats in play? I was thinking making room for psychic frog so there's a threat on 2 might help pad out those matchups on game 1
I mean, that does sound like pretty much every Death's Shadow deck...
@@thecntrlfreak1347 True, but they usually also have bow masters or murktid too. With the new ugin land that can chalice on 1 turn 1, that sounds like something we should respect. Maybe a brazen borrower?
I really like this list, tested a bit vs titan and grixis wizards with good results. Some times felt like a way to trample/fly over could be good.
Usually the matchups that you need evasion kind of turn in to tamiyo ults. Then just clear out enough blockers with your 12 new removal spells.
