I've had my 2022 DLX EFI up and running for two weeks now, been riding it every chance I get. Really enjoying it. Bought it mainly for off-road, has plenty of power to pull me up the steep hills on the family farm (I'm not a small guy). I plan on leaving it geared low for the trails, I have street bikes for going fast on the road. Really glad I bought it over a used main brand bike for twice as much. Enjoying the project aspect of it.
Thanks again for watching my videos. Have fun on your new bike and keep the rubber side down.
Define "not a small guy" 😂 I'm 6'4" 270 been looking but afraid I'm just to big
I have the Hawk 250 Carb Version. Great bike, I love it. Like you said, as long as you’re having fun and I have fallen in love with the Hawk community as much as the bike. Awesome!
This is amazing to hear. I absolutely love these bikes and I cannot say enough good things about them. It's good to meet a fellow Hawk owner that loves this bike. Thank you so much for watching.
I love your channel bud!
It's not the typical hockey channels that do too much, your laid back approach is awesome.
Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for letting me know, you made my day. It is comments like this that make me want to keep making videos. Thanks Hank Hill.
Way to go. Im glad you showed all the efi HATERS what the difference is between efi & carberator models go.
To me its way easier to own and operate. Besides im 60 years old.
I'm getting my Hawk 250 tomorrow and I am super excited for it! I've been watching a lot of your videos between the Hawk and the KPM. I do a lot of outdoors type of things, so I decided to go with the Hawk! It's my first bike and I can't wait to get riding! Thanks for all of the great videos!
Sorry for the late reply. Hope got your bike in good condition. let me know what you think of it, I love mine. Thanks for watching.
@@hanzdidit I did receive it. They didn't send a battery and I think the starter solenoid relay is bad. Either that or the stator. But it's a fun bike to learn on so far! Even with the issues I'm having, can't beat the price for the amount of fun I've had in a short week!
I almost ordered one , But i ended up getting a 20013 KLR250 for the dirt and a 2015 KLR650 for longer runs. Both were used and in great shape for the same price as the Amazon EFI for each, And i have done many upgrades for both. The amazon EFI still looks and sound good .
Awesome man, as long as you're riding and having fun that is all that matters! Watching.
Holy shit you must have hit the jackpot, play the lotto buddy because I don’t see any bikes for less than $3-$4,000 unless they need a whole new engine
Continuing to enjoy your videos.
It's comments like these that make me want to keep making these videos, you made my day. Thank you so much for watching.
Just ordered one from Orion power sports yesterday. I like watching your videos! I'm very excited for my bike to get here!
Sorry for the late reply. That is awesome, I'm so glad you got one of these bikes I think you're going to love it. I would love to know what you paid and your experience working with Orion power sports. I've never bought a bike from them so I would love to get your feedback. Thank you so much for watching.
@@hanzdidit got my bike about 3 full weeks after I ordered it. Their website says 4-6 days to ship out. Obviously that was not the case haha. Other than that, their customer support is very responsive. My bike had only one small scuff on the front fort by the wheel. I got my bill of sale paperwork filled out same day when I emailed them. Overall I am pretty satisfied with Orion. Amazon showed $400 shipping for the dlx. The bike cost me 2100 shipped to my door, no sales tax.
@@hanzdidit oh, and I was out of their free shipping network so I had to pay $50 for their extended delivery service. Skipped the lift gate upcharge and just slid it onto the bed of my pick-up with my girlfriend. After seeing you muscle yours out of your truck it gave me confidence haha. 😎
12:55 They have low compression, because they are air cooled. 9:1 should be standard
I took my knobbies off my hawk. It’s the older hawk. Brand new tires. There yours if you want them. I just don’t want them wasted. 18 and 21 inch. If you can’t use them please pass the word. No charge just work the shipping
This is an amazing offer, I don't want to sound ungrateful so thank you very much. I have already sold his bike and do not need the tires. I hope you can find a good home for them. Thanks for watching.
Really looking forward to the giveaway! These videos are great I really want to get this bike in the spring. Thanks!
Thank you so much for watching I can't wait to give this thing away.
For 6 speed transmission and claim of 249.9cc displacement out of the box check out Templar X 250. I would use mostly street so initially I looked at TBR7 for 17" rims but only the rear is 17 with the front 19. I would do both 17 and street tires for a super moto build. I only found one no longer continued model of china 250 already setup super moto style but it's not available any more. TBR7D adds upgraded led lights, stator and usb port out of the box. Unfortunately once you start seeing $3,299 and higher prices these Amazon bikes become severely overpriced vs a CFMoto 650cc MT or GT in the USA they renamed it 650 Adventura although it it's the MT or GT I haven't studied enough to recall but with full name brand parts Bosch, Benbow, full color large LCD instrument displays and set of name brand paniers included and a Kawasaki twin motor (CFMoto makes engines for some of the Kawasaki and KTM bikes) for $6,700 or less and with Pirelli street tires included standard and a 4 year warranty. Eco and sport ECM modes. Stick knobbies on to do ADV trail riding. More than three times displacement and name brand parts and comparitively much higher quality build for twice the cost of the Lifan KPM 200 or similar Enduro Amazon bikes in the "premium price points". These bikes had a niche at the $1,400 price points of a few years ago but a the prices go up the value proposition drops. If you go Alibaba direct you could get dual sports up to 450cc range in the 3k mark. Edit: the hawk 250 and hawk 250 dlx are two completely different bikes with nothing in common except the name hawk to market to Americans. Completely Different make for each bike.
Thank you so much for the great information I will definitely look into these other bikes and see if it is something I can do a review on. Thank you so much for watching.
@@hanzdidit if you are also interested in branching out on Asian bikes to India they bought out and continued the Royal Enfield company. You get bikes starting at 350cc for just in the $4k range and you get some of the smoothest transmission 650cc twins in the upper $5k range. They also smash every Chinese and even top three Japanese bike brands in the US with every bike they sell getting a 3-Year Warranty plus on top of that you get 3-Year roadside assistance / breakdown coverage. Sure beats the 30 days most China bikes give especially those 250 cruisers they try to sell people for close to $6k. No enduro in the Royal Enfield stable but they do have a scrambler single thumper 410 I believe and a 410 Himalayan ADV that they literally ride the Himalayan tracks with a super low torquey thumper that just pulls for days up steeper inclines without needing to downshift at the expense of high freeway speeds. The 650s are mostly a cafe racer and British standard in the form of the interceptor. They may announce in a few weeks the 650 coming in new release models with a cruiser which is to become thr big brother to the existing 350 Meteor model and perhaps another new model or two coming out with the same 650 270 degree offset crank twin which gives you that nicer exhaust note to listen to the 180 Japanese twins. The REs are getting a lot more popular fast in the US as you get a lot for very little and nothing you don’t need if you are not into insectoid robot bikes, LCD everything displays and a slew of rider modes. You do get efi, slipper clutch and those industry leading 3 year warranty plus 3 year roadside assistance. I have my eye on that new Meteor 650 rumored to be announced in a few weeks. Baring that not being available in time, the Interceptor 650 (INT650 in US) is a good choice for British standard.
@@hanzdidit just an update. The Templar X 250 with 249.99 CC and 6-Speed transmission is back in stock. I picked one up. From what I’ve read from others the welds look the best or even robotic. Protective finish is thickest seen so far. Frame tubes are oval, swing arm is beefy alloy and stainless fasteners everywhere. It’s a beast for off road. Lowest gearing out of the box so you can use all the power off road under 40. It comes with knobbies and even rim locks already installed. That’s great for off road or keeping speeds under 50 but I’d probably make a rear sprocket upgrade to taller gearing and remove the rim locks so the wheels can be balanced and tuned for faster speeds once the knobbies are worn and switch to 705s or whatever the 2nd set of tires becomes if I use it more on streets. Both front and rear shocks are fully adjustable / dual adjustable. It’s a full size enduro maybe tallest yet. The compromises for me would be minor. You get a digital dash but no fuel sensor so you use the mileage on the digital dash to gauge when it’s getting near fuel refill time, key is more snowmobile style than motorcycle. The head is shimmed raising the combustion chamber above the piston slightly to detune the engine and lower compression to pass emissions. If you take it back to fully tuned up to 26HP seems to be the max potential. Carb is sealed but the fastest way to remedy is to grind the heads off and replace them with Allen keyed metric bolts. Jet kit already on the way from eBay for less than $8. You do get the rear rack standard and installed out of the box so that balances it out. Should be here Friday if the shipper estimate holds true.
The reason for the discrepancy in cc is the Chinese add the combustion chamber size to the volume of the cylinder to get their total
This is great information to have, I did not know. Thank you so much for the information and thank you so much for watching.
Your awesome man ✌🏻😉
Thanks man it's comments like these that make me want to keep doing these videos. Thank you so much for watching.
There are some good trails near Mohawk and up 36. Mostly Logging roads but some single track. That's where I take my Hawk. Man I thought Eugene was dry. The Deschutes river looks low.
So far I've not had any problem riding the bikes on any normal trails, thank you so much for your input and thank you for watching.
Ive had engine bolts come loose dont forget to check those or get some lock nuts for it
Thank you so much for your input and letting us know. Thanks for watching.
I have the 2022 sr250s SSR with the NC250 6 speed 80mph stock besides racing carb hot to try that one it's an awesome bike and make sure even better Super Moto👍
Thank you so much for the great information I will definitely look into that bike. Hopefully I can do a review on that one soon. Thank you so much for watching.
Awesome content! Keep it up man. Can a smaller shock be installed in the rear to lower the bike some? I just ordered one yesterday. 👍
Sorry for the late reply. I am not sure about this. I would love to know how your smaller shock works and which one you got if it does. Thank you so much for watching.
You can buy or make a bracket that lowers the rear shock about 1.5". It basically lowers or extends the bottom shock mount. Way easier and cheaper than changing shocks.
You can also loosen and lower the front forks at the clamps at the top of the triple tree. Lots of videos on CZcams 😂😮
Nice video would like to see the KPX 250
Sorry for the late reply. That bike is definitely on my list and I will be getting one soon. Thank you so much for watching.
@@hanzdidit no worries man love your content keep up the good work can't wait to see it
I keep on coming back to your videos trying to convince myself to get one. I really want a bike for the spring summer and this sounds like a nice affordable buy but the height is an issue as a bigger.
I am 5 '7" and it is definitely a tall bike for me I am on my toes. He might look at the KPM 200 if you are a beginner. It is a much lower seat height
Just got my endorsement I could really use a good starter bike!
Thank you so much for watching.
Xpro Templar x is by far a better bike and a better deal on Amazon. It’s not only cheaper than a hawk dlx but it offers a better frame, fully adjustable suspension front and rear, a true 250cc engine that’s counter balanced and has 6 speeds. Amongst many other Benefits. 🤷🏼♂️ btw I own both a hawk dlx and a templar x and side by side there is no comparison.
The hawk looks and feels like it was made from leftovers and the Templar x will compare to any name brand 250 four stroke that you can buy used.
I will definitely check that bike out, looks pretty awesome thank you for letting me know. Thank you so much for watching.
The cori Templar is not cheaper it’s more money.
How is the Templar X for street riding?
I wish they would put a bigger fuel tank and some less aggressive tires on the X.
I've been thinking about buying my 18 year old son the hawk dlx 250 but after reading your comment I'm considering the templar. Is it efi? I can't find 1 with a 6 speed. Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help, Ray
@@RNett0506 for the 6 speed, you need to get the Templar X model. The regular Templar, and the M, are 5 speed.
I think all three are carbureted though. Seems like a lot of people put a Nibbi on them for a power boost. The X seems to be sold out everywhere right now.
The hawk is better because u can add that carb
This is a great bike I agree. Thanks for watching.
The airplane myth is interesting are there a lot of bodies or skeletons down there to?
lol Thanks for getting my joke,.
Please Review the templar x 250, ive already bought the bike and it will be delivered tomorrow but I would still like to see a video on it.
Please let me know what you think of it, if you like it I will try to do a review on it. I'm still trying to get rid of a few bikes my garage is filling up lol
Started my carb one up after two years of standing and it started on choke after the second kick
These bikes are amazing and so far I have found them to be a very reliable. I'm glad you're having a good experience with yours. Thanks so much for watching.
YOU NEED TO TRY TEMPLAR X AND LET US KNOW HOW IT IS !!!!!
Looks like a cool bike. can you tell me where to get the best price on this bike? Thanks for watching.
Hey bud. Just purchased this same bike. Looking for videos on it found yours. Funny thing is I told the wife "hey that looks like bend" and it is, sweet. Because we live south in Lapine. So did you have any problems getting it registered with the dmv?
Yes this video a shot in Bend. It is nice to meet somebody local. I did not have any problems getting this registered. You just have to pay the import tax and then take that to the DMV and you are good to go. If you do not know how when you go to the DMV they will explain it to you and you can do it there on your phone. When I registered I got a fore your plate. Should not be a problem. Thank you so much for watching.
May I ask your routine maintenance on this thing? When do you do the oil how many miles put on the tires before you change them? I have myhawk dlx and wanna know a few of those things
I would suggest changing the oil every 1000 miles. It does not use very much that's not going to be expensive. Has far as tire where goes and regular maintenance I would just keep your eye on chain and if the tires look like they're wearing out replace them. Always look for loose bolts or if there is a rattle make sure you tighten up whatever's rattling and you should be good to go.
I keep hearing better things about these
So far, I've been very impressed and I have not had any regrets buying any of these bikes. Thank you so much for watching.
Wow! You Did It Again, another great one. Sure hope everyone subscribes.
Jack
Thanks Jack, I really appreciate the support and thank you so much for watching all my videos.
Do the street tires make a huge difference on your ride experience on the road? Worth the investment? Do you have a link to the tires??
I have not changed the tire on this one yet so I'm not really sure but I can imagine based on my experience with other bikes that it might make a huge difference. I will definitely try to give you more information, thank you so much for watching.
Would this bike be suitable for traveling? I live in Montana & like to explore Montana & nearby states, & I think this could be a good choice?
I think this would be a great choice for a trail experience, it might be a little terrifying if you had to write it on the highway or the back roads of Montana. I have spent some time there and I know people like to drive very fast. If you're on the dirt/ gravel back roads no problem, but be careful if you're on the back roads.
hello I am a beginner to manual dirt bikes the only other experience I have had with dirt bikes is riding mini bikes do you think that this bike is good for a beginner
I think it is a great beginner bike if you are a tall person if you are shorter than 5 foot five I would definitely not suggest this bike for you or anyone that short. I am 5'7'" and I still have a hard time getting my feet on the ground when I am off Rhode and on uneven surfaces. If you are a tall person then this would be a great bike to learn. Hopefully this is helpful and thank you for watching.
What road is that old airport off of? I'd love to take my kiddo out there before the houses go in
I am not sure what the road is called, it is out off of OB Riley Road in the neighborhood is called Pacific crest eye think. Thank you so much for watching.
Whats the Fastest Amazon bike you have rhode? Im just looking for a cheap bike so I can visit my son 2 hours away from me.
If you are a mechanical person then there are modifications that you can do to this bike with some gearing and air intake mods that will make it go faster. In my opinion I will try to find some thing used that was a 400cc or bigger engine. Two hours is a long time to ride if you can only go 60 miles an hour downhill lol. These are great commuters but they are not meant for long rides on the highway, I actually think they are very dangerous on the highway because you don't have the power to get out of the way if you need to. I would start with something a little bigger. Hopefully this is helpful if you have any more questions I'd be happy to answer the best I can. Thanks so much for watching.
Do you like the Hawk better than the Brozz? Aren't they basically the same bikes?
I have not heard of the Brozz. but I will definitely look into it and see if it is the same bike. Thank you so much for watching.
Templar X is a better off road dual sport for the money!
Thanks for your input, I think that might be my next bike.
@@Billy5150. Templar X is street legal. Myself and many others have them plated, no problem.
My Boy 1 in only 10,000 ...
Psh its Probably me But how I'm I going to get that bike home because
My Hawk 250cc Dlx efi is my only transportation.... 🤔 I gotta think of something quick!!!
LOL, thanks for watching.
Did you have to adjust the valves when you assembled it?
No, when I got mine, it did sound a little loose but after riding it for a while it definitely sounded like it tightened up. I’m not sure if that’s the brake in or what but you should put some miles on it before you start tweaking with the Valves
Sweet video! Xpro templar next! 6 speed🔥
Definitely, this bike looks really amazing, I will definitely get one and test it out, thanks so much for watching.
wrong just purchased dlx fuel injected for 1900
Hey do you think this is the best duel sport that you can order?
Yes this is the best One in my opinion, It is a great bike and it gets great gas milage. Thanks for watching.
GPS the top speed, my speedometer is way iff
Yes I agree that these parameters are not correct on these bikes. I have had this bike up to almost 70 miles an hour according to my GPS. I hope this answers your question. Thank you so much for watching.
Im thinking of ordering one, hows the bike now months later?
Worked great the entire time I had it, but I sold it so I could buy more bikes to review. I pay for these bikes out. of my pocket so i cant keep them all. LOL
Is it stock sprockets
I have not changed anything on the bike since I got it. Everything is stock. I know there are different sprockets you can buy that will make it go faster but I have not tried them out yet. Thanks for watching.
Hanz, can you recommend a helmet brand for people who wear glasses
Look up Lali channel. She’s done videos on and made a small list a year ago of all the helmets she came across that support folks that wear glasses.
Thanks!
@@fire5par I use HJC F70. It’s glasses friendly and full face with ECE 22.05 and DOT.
I am a big fan of this Bell helmets, so far I have not had any problem wearing my glasses with this helmet. Thank you so much for watching.
the engine is a less powerfull bad clone of honda 230cc. I read somewhere its 13 hp
Not sure but I think it is a 230cc engine.
Not a real power house with just a hair more hp than a honda monkee
totally agree, but they are a great beginner bike, thank you so much for watching
