    Sorry about the below comment I meant to say Great video love Matt wish to I had seen this when I started fishing with my husband 8 years ago. I still cant land my fish using a net and my husband always helps I really do need to master this but really find keeping the fish on in one hand and getting the net in position to get it really awkward. Any videos on this technique I can catch them no problem!

A video well done.

    Float fishing for commercial carp you can change your weights. I used to set up a swan shot 3 inches from the hook and then spread the rest up the line. This way you can spot bites two ways. float goes under or lifts out. creates a lighter version of a bolt rig too and aids setting the hook.

    A controlled Underarm Lob or flick is also effective & more desirable when fishing in the Margins.
    Same easy action as Matt has shown, except Underarm.

    I need someone’s help I went fishing tonight and really struggled to cast further out. I could only get it a couple metres out. When I made it heavier to cast further the float was just sinking? Pleaaaase advise thank you

    one thing. the weights needed to weigh down a float are written on the side of the float now are they the weights placed directly either side of the float or is it the total weight including the smaller weights down towards the hook? thanks

    • @charliepamment1
      @charliepamment1 Před 4 lety

      that is the weight you need to set the float but take into consideration the bait you are using. worms or corn are heavier than maggots for example so you may need to under shot your line depending on what youre using

    The name 'waggler' comes from the way the float waggles in the air when you cast

    I have a 15lb line for float fishing. Nonsense about it making it more difficult, if anything, it means you don't lose the fish when your crap line snaps.

    • @StirringAlloy
      @StirringAlloy Před 4 lety +2

      Bprezzle it 6lb or 4lb is perfect for float fishing maybe you’re just shit and casting into tree and breaking of or your fishing for 30lb fish you can fish 15lb line with the thickness of 5lb line (braid fishing line) but we normally use mono and from experience 15 line doesn’t really fit in a float or the size of hook you should have been using

    • @rebeccaconlon9743
      @rebeccaconlon9743 Před 3 lety +1

      @@StirringAlloy if your sea float fishing for coalfish as an example, those beasties can weigh up to 18lbs with an average of 7lbs, so a heavier line is needed. But like most things, some survival/extinction bias is typically at play in most communities. The biggest recommendation is take your time I researching, what you want to catch, where etc and then equip yourself with knowledge before buying anything. Much like any big hobby like cycling, rowing, etc
