One thing no one can complain about in this movie is the SOUNDTRACK! Alan Menken and Howard Ashman’s work is true magic. Moreover the new additions like this rendition of Vanessa’s song or "For The First Time" and "Uncharted Waters" made with Miranda fit PERFECTLY in the soundtrack in my opinion. Halle and Jonah’s voice made these so memorable too🥹. I know everyone loves to hate on "Scuttlebutt" but it’s clearly just a funny song for kids just like "Les Poissons" was. Every Disney fairytale movie has a funny scene or song just for laughs since Snow White

I was truly impressed by this remake. Halle's voice as Ariel was absolutely enchanting, just like a mermaid's magical voice. And Jessica Alexander as Vanessa absolutely killed the role. As for Melissa McCarthy, there's nothing surprising -- she is as good and talented as she always has been.

Me too I think that’s so sad. Kids at my daughter’s school were saying how their parents said it’s a bad movie and a rip off. She was so sad.
My daughter herself said that ariel isn't supposed to be black, she's supposed to be white... We are colombian and have every type of color in our family... But we know we aren't expected to go watch a movie where the purposely changed a ginger to a black girl...people are hypocrites, and love being on a moral high horse. Don't let your children get turned into puppets. Let them express normal opinions...

Rob (the director) explained multiple times that they cast Ariel for her VOICE!!! No one who auditioned outdid Halle’s vocal/emotional performance…and lastly, with that being said, if you were so against the casting decision why are you wasting your time here watching this video and commenting on this post? I never understand people who do things like this. If I don’t support something I’m not gonna go out of my way to watch a video on it much less comment on that video.
@@quinn9074 give me one example of an iconic character being white washed... It's hypocrisy. The only reason they blackwashed Ariel is cause people think it's ok for it to go one way, but all hell breaks loose if they make a black character white. Low IQ activity.
