Sadowsky, on purpose, wires his pickup pan pot( for whatever reason) he does this and I guess it makes sense to him, he does this on all his bass models, who knew 😊
@@BullyThaKidd Lol, Sadowsky feels that trebly sounds should be "forward" (pan clockwise/bridge pickup) and bass sounds should be "backward" (pan counter clockwise/neck pickup). Go figure.
I paid $3300 for my METROLINE 24 5, its the finest in my collection, fit n finish is superb. the pickups down to wood is top notch and very comfortable to play.
Yepp, all, Sadowkskys the same, I changed the 2 wires on mine, 5 minute job. I wrote them a mail back in 2007, and asked about that blend knob situation. Answer was along these lines, they look at the blend knob like a tone knob, turned completely down is a bassy tone (neck pickup) turned completely up is a trebly tone (bridge pickup).
I absolutely love Mine,( metroline 24 5) when I got it I was thrown off by the blend knob, but I read the manual, I like it! its unique and not planning on chaining the wires.
Very cool looking bass I didn’t know they had this line, but for the price you can go get a new Dingwall and a used Stingray lol, you got bro at the end lmao, keep the videos comin Bully!!
You can not buy a used NY sadowsky for $3600. Dingwall basses are totally different in tone than a Sadowsky and not as well made, but that last part is subjective. These basses are made in Germany in a state of the art facility. My 5 string is chambered and it weighs 7.7 lbs.
If you think this one is overpriced I have the Masterbuilt version that was $6.5k. To be fair it’s really nice. Never seen a flame maple neck like it. They cut very well in a mix- other people always say how much they love it. To be honest I still prefer my P Bass though.
Sir Sadowsky basses have always had the same lay out. If you don’t like the layout so be it, but do some research and you would have known this without adding a little note. 99% of the basses you review are cheap, so I get it. But don’t knock a bass because you can’t remember which way to turn the balance knob. In closing I did not watch all of this review, and not many of your others than to know you showcase cheap basses. Not a problem, I’ve been there, but I bet this is the best playing and sounding bass you’ve ever reviewed…thanks to your brother or it would be another 400$ special.

That is just how Sadowsky wires their blend pot. It has always been that way
That’s a cool bass, Roger Sadowsky reversed the Pan to differentiate himself from the others, I love my Modern 5 , it’s worth every penny, you feature mostly cheap instruments on your channel, this ain’t cheap.lol
What Wal bass do you think you would be able to get for 3k😂? Dog,.. Wals are upwards anywhere from almost 10k all the way up to the skies limit. There is a company that makes replicas. They might have a $3k model. Maaaybe.
The both PU on tone was a bit different from what I expected. If there was a way to defeat on of the bridge coils then I would be in on this one. And even I, with my penchant for weird-@$$ electronics setups, wouldn’t be prepared for a reversed blend/pan knob.
The weird way Sadowsky wires their blend has been pointed out already, so that's fine, but it would still always feel alien to me. Also, the MM style pickguard on a J style body shape looks strange to me. Sound is pretty great, but I'm happy to have a Clover Apeiron 5 (old German version with Delano TheHybrid electronics) which basically does the same thing, maybe even better, for way less money. In this price league, I'd probably go for a Lakland instead. Lakland Skyline if I had less money to spend, and for under 1000 bucks, the new Sire Z7 looks really nice.
I figured out how to play come down, all in the same 4 fret box, so you don't have to be sliding all over. Check it out, good song.

It is a boost only preamp so you wouldn’t go all the way on full as you will destroy your speakers. Clearly you might not understand how the preamp work as the config might be new to you
Please google and read the preamp Manual of that bass for you to understand how it works. You said “i don’t know what’s it doing.” Clearly you didn’t research how it works and even mocking the bass without doing your research. How can this be a credible review?
Guys, it's a Sadowsky bass. The pickup blend is and always has been reversed on these. It is normal and not a mistake. Literally the only complaint Bully had in the end was the blend knob, because he didn't even care to google some specs before he did this review. That is what is actually dissapointing.
Meh... I also said the switches were wonky. And it's 3.6k... but thanks for watching I appreciate you taking the time to comment. And you are right. I didn't Google for long.. its my brother's bass. I can get it again.

I found that out after the vid was shot
@@BullyThaKidd Lol, Sadowsky feels that trebly sounds should be "forward" (pan clockwise/bridge pickup) and bass sounds should be "backward" (pan counter clockwise/neck pickup). Go figure.
@@BullyThaKidd The line on the knob is supposed to point down at the detent. Then, the line indicates what pickup it is going to.
@@acolwe that actually makes sense to me. Then again, I’m left-handed (but play righty) and tend to be a bit backwards.
R.I.P. Roger along with your blend knob
A lot of times when I’m looking to hear what a bass sounds like and slapped as well you can always count on this guy in the video.

Mine was 3625, finiest bass I’ve ever played in 30 years!

That M/J is a great bass. You forgot to mention the weight? Mine comes in at just under 8lbs. Lightweight and a joy to play!

Groovy 😎🤘🏻🎸 sadowsky makes great basses. And this is a nice looking one. I really like the blue finish and the tone sounds great.
That's a beautiful bass but the price is a heart attack coming hehe if I had the money I would definitely buy it.
jfc at 3.6 you can get a custom design brand new musicman stingray or half of that u get a used stingray special. Outrageous.
I sad basically the same thing,
Then don buy it.

I own a Metroline JJ bass. You get used to the blend knob after a day or two.

How is sadawsky gonna rip off MusicMan and then go and charge more? Doesn’t make sense

Yeah, pan pots are backwards on Sadowsky. It definitely makes you think it's been wired wrong in the factory.

All treble no bass
Wow disappointing...... 😢
Leave it to German manufacturers to over load their products with features that are hard to use, mediocre styles and a huge price tag.
That sound is no different than the fender jazz sound of p bass sound.A american made fender aint worth no 4 bands.
