Dig It.. Larry Graham Played Bass And Sang At The Same Time With Sly And The Family Stone From 67 to 1970 And Solo With Graham Central Station In 1974 Way Before Jermaine.. Bless Them Both..
Thank you family, but Larry Graham was not famous when he was with Sly and the Family Stone. And what song did Larry sing and play bass on live all by himself with Sly, because I have some shows on them and I didn't see it?????? And I know all about Graham Central Station, but again Jermaine Jackson was the first famous singer to play bass and sing at the same time all by himself live, i.e. I Found That Girl; Bridge Over Troubled Waters and other songs all in 1970 and 1971. Thank you so much for your knowledge fam. Peace.
Yes..., You're Welcome Bro Indeed.. There Is No Footage Of Larry Graham With Sly ATFS To Be Seen To Show Visual Proof, But Graham Played And Sang On A Few Solo Tracks In The 1968 Live Shows That Are Audio Only.... Graham Was Indeed Also Very Famous With Sly Because He Was The Innovator And Inventor Of The Slappin And Pluckin Style Technique Back Then That No One Was Doin At That Time... Listen To Thank You Fo Lettin Me Be Myself Again From 1970... There's A Track Called " Let Me Hear It From You" Also Color Me True, That They Did Live That He Sang Solo!! Listen To Hot Fun In The Summertime, And Dance To The Music.. Everybody Is A Star, Graham Is Singing And Playin At The Same Time On These Tracks In Sections. Check Out Some Ed Sullivan Footage From 68 - 1969.. Plus Graham Played Bass And Sang At The Same Time With His Mother In A Combo Group Before He Joined Sly ATFS... There's Soul Train Footage With Graham Central Station On Soul Train In 1974 As Well.. Jermaine And His Brothers Were All Influenced By Sly ATFS.. Listen To The J5's First Lp With Them Doin "Stand" And I Want To Take You Higher... And The Fact That MJ Ended Up Owning All Of Sly's Music And Publishing.. ---- Soul And Peace And Be With You Brother... Rock On!!
PS... Check Out " Sing A Simple Song - The 1969 Stand" Lp With Larry Graham Singing And Playing At The Same Time As Well... Soul And Peace Go With You Brother. Rock On!!
@@BROWNSOULxxx Thank you brother, but I see you don't see what I'm saying. Everything you said about Larry Graham, I already knew. I know all them songs, brother people knew and tripped off of Sly Stone not Larry. All the stuff you're saying about Larry playing with his mother is stuff you found out decades later from Larry, and again nobody didn't know Larry until Graham Central Station! Mike even mentions Graham Central Station in 74 on the Merv Griffth show. The whole slapping and plucking is another subject matter that can be disputed as well. And there is a lot of people including Sly's brother who said that's Sly doing the bassline on a video of all them in the studio listening to playback of Thank You For Lettin Me!!!! It's on CZcams. And there are others who say that's Sly Stone playing the bass on Thank You For Letting Me, And the Jackson 5 was influenced by The Isley Brothers, James Brown, Tempts, Staple Singers, as well as Sly Stone. Again Jermaine was the first famous singer to play the bass and sing songs live!!! But Peace Family. It's good to see that you dig some real good music!!
Brother Carlos... Yes, I Hear What You're Sayin But I Know My History As Well And I Have My Opinion In What I Have Been Around In My Travels, Feeling And Thought. Those Songs Sly Wrote With Larry Graham Featured As Well As Rose, Cynthia And Freddie Were Not Adlib's.. An Adlib Is A Spontaneous Feeling Of Emotional Singing Or Instrument Playin In The Moment On The Spot In Where You Are At, Not Written Lyrics That Are Written For The Lyric Of A Song. Those Were Legit Lyrics To The Story Of The Songs... This Is Deeper That What It Is, I Appreciate Your Post, And History, Jermaine Is An Unsung Incredible Dope Bass Player I Agree Indeed, But There Are Elements Of History Before That Existed In The Making Of What He Ended Up Doing, Playin And Singin At The Same Time.. I Appreciate Your Passion, Great Photos And Footage And Being a Conduit To The Masses Knowing About The History And All... Peace Go With You Brother, Keep On Doin What You're Doin, Don't Stop!! All Soulful Blessings...
No one really understand how GREAT the Jackson Five was

There were great at a very young age. Had natural and real talent.
All the brothers had the exact same tone in their voice...very soft-spoken...it burns me up when they always picked at Michael for his voice...gotta love this iconic marvelous group of people...thank God for them
As lifetime Jackson fan l never knew all this...
THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS
Literally as if every nigga gotta sound like Barry white lmao
@@urmom777 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What amazed me was the musicianship of Tito and Jermaine they were above average musicians as teens.
Also jermaine had speech problems when he was younger and he would play the bass with his speech problems and sing lead also at a young age, that shows how important Jermaine was in the group
Jermaine's playing live was amazing he was as good as any bass player on the scene singing and steps all at the same time his concentration was off the chain.
Aw man this video is a gem. I knew this was gold even before you got into the 5 things. I was going to comment that my father toured with the Jackson Five before they left for Motown and at 1:35 you actually have the flyer with my Dad's group and the Jackson Five! My Dad was in The Radiants; his name was Maurice McAlister and their most known song was "Voice Your Choice. Also I actually have an original copy of the picture you shared at 1:53 of the Jackson Five at Chess Records. The name listed at the bottom was the Radiants and the Jackson Five's tour Manager Luther Terry. My Dad told me they did the Chitlin Circuit in the Dallas area back at that time. I wish I had've wrote down all the stops. Also my Dad wrote Etta James song "Only Time Will Tell". It was featured in Jennifer Lopez's movie "Angel Eyes". ❤You just made my day.
That's real deep!!!!! I was so pleased to read your comment!!! Thanks for the info!!!!! That's Peace fam!!
That's screwed up how the Jacksons never got a Grammy though they probably had the greatest male singer, vocally, of all time
Not only that 4 number one singles on one album and noooo Grammy where they do that at I'll tell ya in the great USA
This video was too short, great stuff.
I totally agree
Literally the Greatest group in history ✊🏽💎💎
A look into the Jackson 5 from the lens of the original fans.
Check out on j5 lover, she could break it down further than I. I'm still and always j5 expert ,top notch. Thank you. Happy new year, and get a great 2021.
That marlon had was cute. He should had worked more on his live vocals. I remembered his stuff was good
In 2021 him and the Jackson have excellent vocal. Check out their concert in 2016 and up
This was a cool watch.
I was most fascinated by Marlon…he was always an enigma to me, because for the most part in the Jackson 5, he was silent.
Most people don’t know he had a twin that died in the womb…
Wow...the Jackson 5 never received a grammy...and these days we have people like justin bieber collecting an award for yummy😂😂😂 man what has the world turned into smh
Facts and Justin Bieber was always wack🤦🏽♂️😂😂😂💯
Grammy sucks, there's a lot of legendary artists and bands that weren't recognized the way they deserved by Grammy's, so it's not a big surprise.
@@marie_01s Facts Justin Bieber is extremely overrated in my opinion🤦🏽♂️💯
@@daelenevans2934 Agree, in these times there's a lot of overrated 'artists'..
@@marie_01s 😎👍🏽
This is some information I didn't know!!! Thanks for sharing!!
Come on really? Mike and the Jackson been famous over 50 yrs. Movies and stories bio ect ect
@@mrhawk1924 really I'm serious...how long have you been famous?
Wonderful video! Lot of good stuff in here that I didn’t know. The Jackson 5 truly deserves more credit!!!
Nice thing on Marlon. Ya dont usually hear much about him.thank u
I 💭 they were going to say out of all the brothers he is the only one still married to his wife for 49 beautiful years...#GO MARLON & CAROL
Systematically racism at that time.
Larry Graham was playing bass and singing on stage years before the J5! even in an interview Jermaine said that he wanting to play bass because of Larry Graham
and when i thought i knew everything and anything about the jackson’s😂 preciate this one, i learned a lot fr🙏🏽jacksons are certified legends
When the Jackson started out, I wasn't born yet. I love the Jackson to this day. I listen to their music almost everyday. They all were good looking and had beautiful smiles. 🥰❤️
All them cats were bad to the bone
You better know it!!!
Most famous bassist to play and sing is Larry Graham, with Sly & The Family Stone, later with his group Graham Central Station.
LOL!!!! jokey smurf
Carlos Even Though I Knew All Of This, This Is Really Awesome...One Love Fam...
Thank You Sir. Don't you wish they'd release the footage on these cats?!?
@@thebreak-down796 Yep...Yep...Show U Right Fam...

Such a great mix of things that I didn’t know about this group
I absolutely love The Jackson Family. They gave us more pride than anyone else. Im talking my melanated people.

Dope!
Jackie released 2 solo albums..1 in the early 70s
His first album was really not that bad. I liked She's Not a Bad Girl, and his remake of Didn't I Blow Your Mind.
@@thebreak-down796 The first album was good. It just wasnt promoted well. The second album was nice too. check out KRUZIN on youtube. A semi hit song from the 2nd album
@@avidreality3392 I totally Agree!!! In fact Jackie was a main factor to their background vocals when they played live!!! And nobody catches how valuable he was to the group's harmony!!!
@@thebreak-down796I love DO I OWE & LOVE DONT WANT TO LEAVE
@@thebreak-down796Jackie's falsetto was legendary...all the Jackson 5 background vocals you can hear him the most with Jermaine and tito
Brother you are "CORRECT " I was one !!!🎸💯☝🏿
Excellent.., on so many points!
The Jackson 5 never won a Grammy. All the history i learn about them. That's new to me.
Michael had 8 in 1984
wonderful!
This video was outstanding. Found out stuff I didn't know!!
I, like millions of other girls, wanted to marry Marlon Jackson! 😍😍
Marlon wasn't the only Jackson who did a solo album. (If you meant self-produced, then my bad). MJ, Jermaine & Jackie all did solo albums on Motown before Marlon. I remember Randy did one(Randy & The Gypsys) on A&M. I think everyone made an album in that family except for Mike's children.
Michael Jackson will be always alive for us and loved by holl world love you Michael Jackson for ever my Engel truly it's he is king and king of pop rest in peace my Engel love u lot
I just paused and I know the answer of him doing the robot for the first time it was papa was a rollling stone in Japan 1973 easy answer and I’m only 14
nice haha xD
Dope video
DAAAAYYYYYYYUUUUUM! Never knew this...and Neicey is from Gary as well!??
Everybody knows if you are a true Mike fan
@@mrhawk1924exactly
I will always love the Jackson 5 and Michael Jackson is my favorite but they are the best entertainer ever live
These cats were badass 🤭🤭🤭🤭🐈🐈🐱🐈🐈
Unbelievable they NEVER won a Grammy!!! Something is WRONG!!!
I think berry gordy had a lot to do with most of his artist not getting grammys
Baby boy was the first record that was heard on the radio in Chicago before the motown days......
Check out on j5 lover as she talks about the film isoman cross and sons and how they didn't do it because they're too busy in1974 tour world wide. Joe Jackson manage a four sister group mdlt Willis from astubula, Ohio, yes he was open his sons to songwriting freedom for his ivory tower records label. But they wrote the no hit song what's your game? Check them out on soul train, mdlt Willis ,1974,that's when the trail hell start to the fan, when an j5 assistant got fired because he told a rumour that one of the girls try to seduce Michae,l remember that story ? The reason why the isoman cross film is in the can although they're busy on thier tour including thier first feast to Africa. Although, the major of the script is everytime a black person made thier start is to be in a "slave movie",half of the script didn't even show any real gratitude opening thier own business, or opening thier own school. Thanks for telling us,sir, you have a happy new year.. 2021.
Why didn't he get a Farlight Series 3, they were just as good I would say but not just cheaper but a lot bloody cheaper then $350,000
A Fairlight CMI series 3 cost like over £60,000 in summer of 1985
Fact 3 is wrong. Larry Graham of Sly and the Family Stone also played bass and sang songs
MARLON WAS ALWAYS AMAZING .
The first performance where the Jackson 5 got paid ( according to Michael's autobiography) is the world famous Blue flame strip club on Bankhead in Atlanta. ...as seen in the Jackson's movie. Mainly because The Palladium was right behind it where all the greats performed. Joe set it up for the producers to slide over between sets and see his boys.
MJ.รักคิดถึงตลอดมาตลอดไป❤️🤟🤴🌻🌹🇹🇭😭
❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
Jackie Jackson did a Album 💿 Too
Yep!
It was totally unfair and horribly disgusting not only for the Jackson 5 but for all colored brilliant singers and artists who did not get any major recognition and awards just because of the color of their skin! Rotten rubbish due to racial discrimination! I may think that God created Michael Jackson so that through him, the entire music industry would change because of his brilliance in dancing and singing and all their songs that become classic hits. Through his music videos Michael broke the barrier and opened the flood gates for other musical talents regardless of their skin color.
Jermaine might have been the youngest To play bass and sing live But he wasn't THE FiRST Larry Graham was from sly and the Family Stone
Jermaine had album
Why wasn’t Tito a great blues player why he never dropped a solo album?
He was and he has already.
@@thebreak-down796 Tito wasn’t no great blues player smh and his albums not reaching the top nothing Carlos just stop lol
@@OVERSEEROFRAP You asked why he never dropped a solo album, now you're talking about an album not reaching anything; and you asked why he wasn't a great blues player when he was touring solo for years and has played with other great blues player. A jewel our ancestors used to say was, "Let people think you're fool before you open your mouth and remove all doubt"! Stop consuming too much sugar in your diet it impedes thinking, lunch meat.
@@thebreak-down796 👏🏿😂😂loved that statement..that's a fact
He’s got a great blues album out.
It’s fairly recent too!
"...perfidious..."
You forgot to add that the drummer of the Jackson 5ive whose name was ...
Johnny Jackson, cousins of The Jackson Five, is actually related to the Jacksons.
On March 1, 2006, Jackson died at a home in Gary after being stabbed by his girlfriend, Yolanda Davis, following a quarrel. Davis was later pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to 2 years in prison.
Johnny Jackson played the drums really awesome!
----
About this video, I rather that the J5 be called,”the Jackson 5ive” than “the Cats”. Lol 😆.
I’m surprised 😯 that the J5 never got a Grammy Award. Was this becuz they were black? How racist!
Johnny Jackson wasn’t really related to the Jackson 5. They said that as a marketing ploy.
마이클 참 야무지게 생겼네요
얼굴도 젤루 잘생겼네
Hi MJ THE JACKSON FiVE MichEAL JACKSON
Not true Jermaine was not the first and you sound like an older brother so you Gotta know Larry Graham was the First to play bass and sing live when he was in Sly and the Family Stone
Cut it out!!! You didn't listen to what he said. He said FAMOUS!! Larry Graham wasn't famous when he was with Sly and the Family Stone. And what song Larry Graham sung live on before Jermaine Jackson? None because he led no song with Sly. Sly Stone was the man in the group.
Dude you're telling us nothing new about the Jackson. Over 40 yrs every one told stories bio movies ect ect on Mike and Motown with the Jackson. Take A Damn Knee in 2020. Baby tonight was a smooth video. ANYONE AGREES?? And check out Marlo in 87 Late night with Arsenio Hall
You lost me at take knee 🤔🤔🤔🎢

Right lmao
Impressed by the Jackson Five?
Look up and read what them, and their father did for fame: it's in the book written by Darren Cubie - called:
Inside the Chi-Lites Music, it will shock you.
5¶And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. LUKE 4:5-7 It's true.
Dude Tito & Jermaine Didn’t play on they early hits It’s was the funk brothers Jermaine & Tito was faking it
Dude some of facts are not true
