i love Norfolk Southern❤️

Awesome Movie!
I could sit there (with permission from the railroad of course) with a chair, sandwich and a coke and would entertained for the day!!!! Too bad they don't have a railfan overlook for the yard, looks like a lot of good action.
Couldn't sleep, huh? Just had to be at the yard before sunup? I'm about half way through your video, as I type this comment. Yard engines 3011 and 754, which are lashed together, present an unusual setting. Your images give the impression, that not all power unit personnel are physically blessed with great health. The second crew person to board, can just barely climb up the steps to the porch platform; than (just like me) he is to obese, and possibly close to retirement age (I'm already retired, and age 73), to be climbing around anyway. He had to forcibly 'squeeeezee' through the door opening just for accessing the cab. What an exercise just for reporting at the work place. Your moving images are great. Now I'm going back to finish up the viewing. Thanks!
You should see the people here in my county in Michigan. They take obese to a new level.
I saw 3011 and 704 hauling a fleet of hoppers, and mixed freight on Everett railroads line
Fabulous!! Wish we had this action here in Denver...
Awesome video! I love the night shots! Reminds me of a old hangout as a kid near the yard! I've subbed up and look forward to more!
As a Railroader. You just got to love your job.
great NS yard video
awesome ! ....
Awesome video Super Trains.... love the yard action some say it's boring but I like the switching and building of trains.👍🏽 hope you do more if them.
Just amazing. Thank you so much for this great video. I subed to support you.
Excelent job!!! Manoubres and signal lights chambers, congratulations !!
Been there, Good times,, Happy to see I can see some of it agian.
All the switching, very lnteresting
Good stuff,thanks
Very nice model railroad! LOL. :-) At first I thought this was a model railroad layout until I saw some people moving in the scene and then I figured this was for real. Model railroad layouts usually don't have moving figures in the scenes. Thanks for posting. I am like vettebecker1; just need an armchair, sandwich and a bottle of beer and I could sit and be entertained for hours.

Very cool video. I was in Altoona back in October 2016. Saw the train museum and the horseshoe curve. Wish I had found this train yard. I was there for the TCA train show in York. Two people didn't like this video??? What's not to like?
I subscribed, because you have some assume videos. Thanks for letting me experience your type of work, and I will keep watching your new ones in the future. Tom
all those tank cars it's just amazing how many there is. thank god for the pipeline coming through pa and other states
awesome video & catches. very cool. sweet SD40's, D9's, SD70's, Slug's, GP38-2 High Hood EX-UP SD90/43MAC SD60's GP40's nice. sweet GE's & EMD's nice. sweet NS, BNSF & UP nice.
Great Video!
awesome
Wow. Loved that coal train @25:00. Looks like an all (8 unit!) EMD lash-up?
Yeah that’s some nice yard action
I live about 40 mi from altoona, havent seen these railyards in years.
hay great video what kind of camera or phone do you use
Next time I'm in Altoona I'll have to come see the train yard. Last year I was at the Horseshoe curve and the train museum. I'll be at the York, PA model train show this October so there's a strong possibility.
DennyDreadBassMan just at the curve today. For some reason, one train came through,it had 4 engines,no cars,Two mins later, another train comes rolling on in,5 trains on the front, bout 100 coal cars, than,at the two cars on the back,it went WOO WOO WOO WOO-WOO WOO-WOO (shave and a hair-cut two bits)
At 14:42 Is that high nosed gp38-2 remote control operated? It has flashing lights, like the RP-E40 slug. Also, I saw the both the RP-E40C slug, and it's GP40-2 master with hoppers passing the Everett railroads shed.
Where is this place? Perfect for my next trip to Altoona!
I saw that ace 1097 in Elyria Ohio 2 wks ago at 26:06
I wasn't far from there when I was on vacation
Infrastructure! Are there still manually operated switches in this marshalling yard? Perhaps remote switching or at least monitoring was installed with PTC?
Great video but I was wondering who fuels and checks the fluid levels and pre trips those trains ?
What are the red devices in the middle of the tracks that are always near the rail switches?
15:04 are those cooling fans for those yard slugs or what? Very cool video!! 👍😎
No those are suppost to help For their engines to power up
Can you make any more videos are the trains thank you
a live cam will be cool there...
28:55 that was smoking like those alco rs11 pennsys I use to see
I kinda liked where 2690 backed up to 9680 and was like here kiss my butt, just to get him out of the yard, plus the fact two yard engines at 4000 hp can hostle a train that previously had 16000 hp just to get it there, these sd40-2s get their guts worked out of them, poor things.
And just so y'all can know,621 is a SLUG
I'd probably be sleeping on the bridge!!!
I'm assuming if there are engines bringing up threar, those engines are pushing. Are there steep hills in that area where the lead engines need help?
That is correct
that all MEE baby..... I own ns..................
What is the long pole the engineers carry whenever there is crew change?
It is a brake stick which is used to turn the brake wheel on the train cars so the conductor doesn’t have to climb up the car
They cleaned house
they should make a railcam video there...
That's a great idea
They use smaller engines for shunting right? Probably a few are going to the curve. Lols
thought I was gonna see Amtrak around 52:10
Here is the video of Amtrak from that day if you are interested, we filmed it at the station and yard. "Amtrak at Altoona Station & Rose Yard in Altoona, PA Pulled by Genesis P42DC #94" Video Link: czcams.com/video/9Da4gmMW2CA/video.html
Thanks!
Someone explain to me why the drivers carry those rod or rod
Those are called brake sticks and there used by the conductor to turn the brake wheel on the train cars so he can just stand on the ground instead of climbing on the car
maybe they're sd60s can't tell.

I'm sorry .... but if you watched the vid in one sitting ... just no .
