I could sit there (with permission from the railroad of course) with a chair, sandwich and a coke and would entertained for the day!!!! Too bad they don't have a railfan overlook for the yard, looks like a lot of good action.

Couldn't sleep, huh? Just had to be at the yard before sunup? I'm about half way through your video, as I type this comment. Yard engines 3011 and 754, which are lashed together, present an unusual setting. Your images give the impression, that not all power unit personnel are physically blessed with great health. The second crew person to board, can just barely climb up the steps to the porch platform; than (just like me) he is to obese, and possibly close to retirement age (I'm already retired, and age 73), to be climbing around anyway. He had to forcibly 'squeeeezee' through the door opening just for accessing the cab. What an exercise just for reporting at the work place. Your moving images are great. Now I'm going back to finish up the viewing. Thanks!

You should see the people here in my county in Michigan. They take obese to a new level.

Very nice model railroad! LOL. :-) At first I thought this was a model railroad layout until I saw some people moving in the scene and then I figured this was for real. Model railroad layouts usually don't have moving figures in the scenes. Thanks for posting. I am like vettebecker1; just need an armchair, sandwich and a bottle of beer and I could sit and be entertained for hours.

Very cool video. I was in Altoona back in October 2016. Saw the train museum and the horseshoe curve. Wish I had found this train yard. I was there for the TCA train show in York. Two people didn't like this video??? What's not to like?

DennyDreadBassMan just at the curve today. For some reason, one train came through,it had 4 engines,no cars,Two mins later, another train comes rolling on in,5 trains on the front, bout 100 coal cars, than,at the two cars on the back,it went WOO WOO WOO WOO-WOO WOO-WOO (shave and a hair-cut two bits)

At 14:42 Is that high nosed gp38-2 remote control operated? It has flashing lights, like the RP-E40 slug. Also, I saw the both the RP-E40C slug, and it's GP40-2 master with hoppers passing the Everett railroads shed.

Infrastructure! Are there still manually operated switches in this marshalling yard? Perhaps remote switching or at least monitoring was installed with PTC?

I kinda liked where 2690 backed up to 9680 and was like here kiss my butt, just to get him out of the yard, plus the fact two yard engines at 4000 hp can hostle a train that previously had 16000 hp just to get it there, these sd40-2s get their guts worked out of them, poor things.

It is a brake stick which is used to turn the brake wheel on the train cars so the conductor doesn’t have to climb up the car

Those are called brake sticks and there used by the conductor to turn the brake wheel on the train cars so he can just stand on the ground instead of climbing on the car
