    INFP: Thank you all for your concern. I apologize for my brevity in the end. I'm still emotionally processing, but wanted to be transparent about this matter as soon as I could. In terms of health (and emotional health, to the best of my knowledge) she is fine.

      Awe, what happened with Alex? :( Did her departure have anything to do with the reason why she stopped responding to comments? Or is she just busy with life? I don't mean to pry or be intrusive, but it just seems so abrupt it makes me worry that a culmination of frustration from all the mean/careless comments finally got to her. If it's just wanting to take a break from social media in general, that I understand. I realize this might be too personal for you to want to talk about (or to feel comfortable sharing on Alex's behalf), and you probably already have a million people asking you questions, so I won't be offended if you don't respond, but I'm just trying to wrap my brain around it.

      Hi Heather, I appreciate your concern and I also respect Alex's decision to not personally deliver a message. I'd rather not say anything because I feel like any comment from me would be paraphrasing at best and conjecturing at worst.

    Hi Calypso, I like the idea to distinguish between imprinters and experimenters. As a Se dom married to a Si dom this concept makes a lot of sense to me.
    But the description of Se is way too shallow for an Se dom. We are not just taking in the external world but we mesh with the world around us. I can feel completely connected to the world around me, as if everything integrates into a unified world.
    It's a sense of connection to our environment, to people, to nature and to objects. And the interaction feels natural, controlled despite the risks perceived by others. And even during 'chaotic' events we experience stillness in our minds because the events are not happening to us but we are fully integrated with the world around us. Instead of a racing-car with a Se driver who sees and hears everything, there's one racing unit, as if the car and the driver melt together into a bionic machine. The driver will have a sensation of being part of a completely synchronized interaction of body, mind, car and the racing track.
    Se is also about exerting energy, spotting opportunities, valuing ergonomics and aesthetics, improvising, movement, new experiences and testing limits but my intention is not to write a book but to make a point Se is more than most perceive.
    Like Fi to you is probably way deeper and more layered than I can imagine with my Fi blind-spot...

    • @CasualCognition
      @CasualCognition  Před 5 lety +6

      Se is more than most people perceive. The integration thing is interesting and I'll keep that in mind! I hesitate to tie any specific values to any cognitive processes though, since any type can value ergonomics and aesthetics, though the high Se way of valuing something is probably very different from the high Si or Fi way of valuing something.

    Great content. Some feedback to improve though: pause a bit more between your sentences, so people can proces the information better when they listen. Often times it feels a bit rushed, just to get the sentences out, like you're "reading in class just for the group, because the teacher asked you to" but if you pause more it is more nice to listen to and the message comes in clearer. When you switch up terms like Se, Si, Ne, Ni in fast succession after eachother its harder to proces what you actualy ment. To make it even more easier for the listner, just show in the video what function you are talking about by placing Si, Se, Ni and Ne in the screen. That's why I suggest little longer pauses between sentences and articulate the functions a bit better. Content 10/10 delivery of content 6/10. Solid 8 is solid! I like how you make video's Calypso. Much value! :)

      I agree that PoLR Ni people can be "blind" to certain universal or singular truths, but it could also be related to her familiarity with computers, regardless of her type. When you've grown up with technology at your fingertips, you don't always realize how daunting and foreign it can seem to an older generation.

      It because she lack Ti. Ti is more about objective analysis. Te is about objective action. TI is good at connect ideas logically.

  • @heatherbryant4197
    @heatherbryant4197 Před 5 lety +5

    Hey, just curious what your idea was behind the graphic in the thumbnail. 👀 (Se👁️‍🗨️ Si👁️) I was thinking the colors represent sensing and the black represents intuition, so that the wide array of detailed colors radiating around a the center pupil in the Se eye are like all the complexities of the current physical reality (Se) radiating towards (or away from) a singular funneled Ni idea, and the black surrounding the iris could even be the way a holistic Ni truth encompasses all the Se data while paradoxically also being at the center of it (or maybe not actually paradoxically, but depending on whether your process is Se-->Ni or Ni-->Se examples, or whether you're an SP or NJ).
    So the colors in the Si eye are in boxes (like the file cabinet reference) bc they grouped by association, and then also arranged on a semi-gradient to represent how Si associations are loosely linked to similar details (colors). So the black (Ne) connects to several Si data points, but not all of them, because any given Ne idea is like a partial truth and not a whole truth unless considered with _all_ Ne possibilities. The little black boxes interspersed throughout the colored boxes remind me of how you could be giving Si examples and all of a sudden Ne interjects with a new idea, connecting to different Si colors, or how Si routines get randomly reset with Ne novelty-seeking. And finally, the optical illusion of the top & bottom bands of colored boxes connecting by both overlapping & underlapping also seems symbolic of Ne's multiple angles and perspectives. And the 3D appearance implies depth in the sense of time for Si, while the 2D appearance of the Se eye implies an experience of the current moment.
    Okay, obviously I'm Ne/Si and doing a terrible job of explaining this lol. Am I just projecting my subjective interpretation?

    • @CasualCognition
      @CasualCognition  Před 5 lety +1

      Wow that's awesome. I found this icon set of 9 eyes, and thought the one I picked for Se reminded me of objectively seeing colors and Ni synthesis while the one I picked for Si reminded me of the file cabinet thing like you said. Didn't think about the other cool stuff you mentioned so thanks for sharing!

    when ne is high the person is experimenter and takes measurements. people with high se just do it and go off if feels right. An istp easy see how to act in moment so they have no reason to takes measurements. Intp other hand will not so they have take measurements and use extroverted intuition to figure how to act. so intp take physical action uses Ti+Si+Ne. ISTP uses TI+SE.

    Hi Calypso, I noticed my friend has eyes that move like Ni Se but she bounces from topic to topic like an Ne user would. I'm almost certain she's ISFP because I recognize her Fi and you typed me as INFP :) I'm wondering, how would Se rambles and conversation bounces differ from Ne rambles? I can tell we think differently but I can't pick up the pattern. Oh one thing is she'll see an object and bring up a story about it immediately, and that she thought it was funny that I had the same focus object at home but didn't talk about it. I hope everything is okay + thank you for continuing to make these videos!

    • @CasualCognition
      @CasualCognition  Před 5 lety +8

      Hi Tabitha, thanks for your astute question! Se can and does bounce from topics like Ne, but the connecting point between two topics tends to be more concrete (Se) rather than symbolic (Si). I actually do some light experimenting, asking several people to talk about rabbits. One Se user said that there are rabbit figurines in her classroom, and thus started talking about the class she teaches. This sounds subjective, and it is, but the rabbit figurine has no intrinsic meaning, it was just concretely present in a certain context. Thus, it's a concrete connection. As for Ne, well, I just thought of how in Chinese zodiac, rabbits are lucky. Now I might talk about cultural symbols, or the idea of luck. This is a symbolic connection, because it's not like I've ever had a concrete experience in which rabbits equal luck.
