  • On episode 2 of our introduction to MBTI series, we discuss the four cognitive functions of 2 perceiving axes: Se Ni and Ne Si. Do you use extraverted sensing and introverted intuition or extraverted intuition and introverted sensing?
    ESTJ, ISTJ, ESFJ, ISFJ, ENTP, INTP, ENFP and INFP use Si and Ne.
    ENTJ, INTJ, ENFJ, INFJ, ESTP, ISTP, ESFP, and ISFP use Ni and Se.

    Short explanation:
    Se percieves the present so Ni guesses the consequences.
    Si picks and stores the details so Ne relates them.

    @MrLuigiFercotti Před 6 lety +72

    As an ESTP, the trick for using Ni is to let it play out in the background, then be ready to grasp it when it delivers connections or creativity. I never like "brainstorming" to me it's like trying to force creativity. I let the data process in the background, then let solutions come to me. Those nuggets are often golden.

      That's cool dude. I am sure you have very strong reasoning. I have to find a place to throw Ne on like math or mbti, or anything abstract or else I get bored. For some reason Ne doms find pleasure ignoring things in front of their face that they should be accountable to.
      Because of my intuition I have a very foggy idea of reality and I understand the things in life that don't matter, but luckily I can make a career out of math doing research, but I would be helpless otherwise if it was the 1800's and I was a poor farm boy.
      I think an Se user would be a farmer just like me, but not poor and wouldn't complain and actually get things done and move the economy forward haha.
      Sensors truthfully and stereotypically are much more disciplined, I think.

    • @ArtyMars
      @ArtyMars Před 5 lety +2

      That is exactly how my process works as an ENTP, I am literally always writing shit down that just magically appears in my mind about problems and they are ALWAYS helpful these little NI nuggets, i never used to pay much attention to them regrettably.

      @@justina2320 Same! If only I had known this sooner. I am an ISFP previously mis-typed as an ENFP for about 3-4 years. I write poetry as a hobby, and it really hit me hard when I realised that I have FEEL and EXPERIENCE first before I write stuff. And always, my writing contains some sensual descriptions which would otherwise be absent if I were actually an ENFP. I was so stubborn and thought I knew everything about myself.

    So... Se is like taking videos and Ni is like watching videos that Se has taken (and making predictions how next film would look like) and Si is like taking still shots and Ne is like browsing photo albums of Si photos? No wonder Ne users eyes roll so much ;)

    It's incredible to see CZcams being used to share independent study and theories. You are certainly trailblazing a lot of new territory and ideas here in a very young psychological science! As socionics becomes more popular, perhaps your work will be studied in the future no differently than traditional peer-reviewed work.

    I used to think I was ENFP Ne-Si, but it appears I am ESFP Se-Ni because I look more at contextual information in the moment. I have learned how to think more hypothetically, but I am naturally more focused on concrete factors that may not be considered in a conceptual question. I do think my Ni is quite developed though, because I can think abstractly and make intuitive predictions that usually come true.

  • @nerysghemor5781
    @nerysghemor5781 Před 3 lety +1

    As a high Ne user, Ni seems kind of weird...but I think I'm seeing it now in terms of two of the big quantum theories. The Copenhagen interpretation seems like it could be the Ni version: waveform collapse into one path whereby the other possibilities cease to exist once an observation is made. In contrast Ne strikes me as the Many-Worlds interpretation, whereby the other possibilities exist elsewhere once an observation is made, even though one observation constitutes YOUR current reality. Needless to say I have always found the Copenhagen interpretation annoying on a personal level. XD Does this sound at all like a useful metaphor? --INFP

    Great video! One question though: do sensory experiences not trigger memories or associations in Se-users PERIOD, or just not most of the time? I ask because the Se and Ni stuff seemed very familiar to me, while the Si and Ne stuff seemed very novel, but sensations do sometimes spontaneously trigger memories or associations for me. Not most of the time, but occasionally.

    • @CasualCognition
      @CasualCognition  Před 6 lety +9

      INFP: When Alex and I are discussing a concept, she usually drills deeper into the concept with Ni, supported by past Se examples that are related on a physical or experiential level. Since the connection is evident, I hesitate to call them associations. My Si tends to make personal and symbolic associations, such that the connection doesn't make sense to others (unless I explain it), leading my Ne to veer away from the original concept into new concepts. Hope this answers your question :)

  • @caramelunicorn8023
    @caramelunicorn8023 Před 4 lety +3

    I've always considered myself as an ENFP, but I must say I do share many of the qualities of Se. I will be the first to respond to a phone ringing (even though I'm easily startled) and am generally more in the moment when i choose to be. I am observant of reality as it happens, while one of my friends will be completely unaware and preocuppied with her own thoughts and goals, focusing more on the end-result I guess than just enjoying the physical environment of a place, which I am able to do quite naturally. Yet I do have moments of conceptual lala land and can get quite wrapped up in my own imagination and philosophical pondering about the meaning of life, being more drawn to fiction and fantasy-based movies. Does this make me an Se-Ni/Ni-Se user? Because I can also relate to the Si-Ne axis somewhat, having a very vivid imagination and an ability to recall past events that made me laugh, or is there less of a connection between recalling memories and Si? Just curious and intrigued.
