I agree with her. But makeup shouldn't be considered as something to "hide insecurities". It their to enhance your beauty. Its an amazing thing. You can play and experiment with makeup as much as you can. Its a form of art. Everyone is beautiful with and without makeup. Something to cover up your insecurities is PS which shouldn't be normalised.

Many use it to hide insecurities. I have seen many women not feeling comfortable with their skin complexions and lip colour and whatnot. They actually express their insecurities by saying things how they don't like their lip colour and how ill they look if they don't wear foundation. Makeup gives them confidence. And I believe it's okay for them to hide out their insecurities unless the insecurities are so big that one feels the need to go under the knife. She is referring to that aspect. At that same time, there are people who use makeup as an experiment like an artist. That is also true. Some are confident in their own skin, yet like to experiment. But, majority use makeup to hide out their insecurities: it's implicit in their language.
Have you seen the insane transformation after makeup, it can make an ugly person attractive.
