@@CHOUDHARY6211 I don't think Dove is amongst those brands. Sure, there are some, but as far as I've seen their ads, they've never delineated beauty to one skin colour or so. Plus, they've been talking of this issue for more than 9 years now. But, you're welcome to debate; if you have seen certain instances where their intentions and actions are questionable, please share, I also wish to know. But in a world where we need big brands and companies to talk about these issues, especially considering the stark paucity of this, Dove is doing a great job. Sure, it could be a marketing strategy, but I don't think any campaign would last this long if it were to be a marketing strategy. They could have done this once or twice and thereafter forgotten. Rather, they stuck with their theme. So I guess we can trust them, as far as my understanding goes at least.

I too wear spects, have braces, am 4'11, mostly shy and everyone does find creative ways to call me ugly but quite honestly, I do not care. I live with myself, not the society. If you find me ugly then you're the one with bad taste. I love myself and I always will. But, I fking was humiliated by the people who were supposed to be my comfort zone so from that day onwards I casually drifting away from them and after some point I wouldn't even sit or talk with them. Now, even though I don't call em friends any more I do sometimes talk to them or joke around a bit but not more than that. my name is Aditi, and I can relate to the first girl (her name is also Aditi). I've always hated my complexion. my mother is very fair, but my dad is a bit dark-skinned. whenever I'm out in public with my mother, people often mistake me for her "friend's daughter" or "Neighbour's daughter". My father always told me he wished I looked like my mother. Because of this, I grew so insecure to the extent that I did everything and anything to get rid of my "ugly, black skin". And like the second girl I used to be extremely insecure about my weight. I used to starve myself for 4-5 days and refuse to eat anything. I was 6 when that happened. SIX. I am gradually learning to love myself for just the way I am. If any parent is reading this, I ask you not to shame your child for things which they are born with or cannot control, instead teach them to love their flaws and embrace them because those flaws are what makes them unique. FYI being dark-skinned, chubby, having curly hair or having acne is NOT ugly. they are beautiful qualities which make a person who they are. Thank you so much dove for making this

No joke, every single thing (except from the glasses, though I have many friends with the same experience) that happened in this advertisement happened to me. Though I live in America, I have Indian parents. I have pretty dark skin, and my mom always tries everything to make it brighter and lighter. The yellow paste, the "tuck in your stomach", it all happens on a daily basis. I also have curly hair, but because of the way my mom brought me up, I now brush it out myself every morning without second thought. Of course, she says "It's all for your health", and sometimes I agree. But she's talking about my physical health; what about my mental health? So, I just want to say, the person who brought up this idea, the people who agreed with it, and the people who executed this all deserve the biggest award for bringing the reason for Indian girls' insecurities to light. Thank you so much.

A bit hypocrisy for a cosmetic company. No Parent is so cruel to do such things that to in this age.
Besan is more effective skin care product than any of Dove's chemical solution, it's not fr fairness but for skin health, being a guy I use it too and is effective.
And regarding spectacles, it is empowering and useful tool but in a program it may not look good in photos due to flash and lighting and if the glass is thick the refraction shows face and eyes distorted. I use spectacles myself but never to pose for a photo bcz its an extention I use fir my eyes, not me or my eyes.
Stop villainizing parents and Guardians who have concern for us.
And I have never seen a parent have stitch tight clothes for their children it's usually the opposite it's made soo loose and long that it fits for next 3 yrs😅, My sister literally used to cry that it's too big for her. My mom used to say belt kis ke liye hai, adjust it to ur comfort. But uniform kabhi correct measurement ki nhi Silegi
So keep ur fake narrative to yourself and don't poison ppls mind and make children revolt and become rebel towards their parents. They already suffer so much in upbringing Children.
If they are so concerned about these "social evils" ok let's change beauty let dove stop manufacturing products and advertising them using 'beautiful' models, or try advertising with a girl with acne or dry skin.
We Indians don't discrimination on such things or how would Priya varier or Sai Pallavi have become national crush with so much acne? My favorite actresses are Smita patil, Shabana Azmi, Vidya Balan(all hv smting which is against so called conventional beauty standard)It's their talent we admire.
