This ad is relatable to many other girls like me. Educated, job qualified but still my report cards have a dusky face to be checked.
Indra Nooyi is dusky, so is Deepika Padukone. Kareena Kapoor looks like a garlic naan. You don't need a multinational dissing the nation using Hindu names to dish out a pretentious ad which pretends to portray something, while attacking something else.
I also face this discrimination since my childhood 😢 this broke my confidence very brutally

The brand's motto might be soft skin and all but as an individual short film ad this is THE BEST. This shows the struggle of every teenage girl. How our society have set some beauty standards and if you don't fit in that then you're screwed.

Acne, fat, skin colour are major insecurities and in the society and all love to talk or interact with good looking persons, in my case I'm bullied for being fat and I'm facing insecurities every day... Are fat people are not treated to be normal 🥲 it really hurts when they crack jokes and make body shaming... We do have a good heart...

I remember an instance when I was a teenage in 8th standard and I was a born hypothyroidism patient, my weight was around 72 kgs, I used to look bulky so my teachers never choosed me for annual function stage performance. Still I was happy bcs I had little interest in dance and show off but once, I was returning from the school on bicycle and one stray dog clashed with my cycle with high speed. I fell badly on the ground and got a leg sprain, it was really hard for me to get up ,the street was empty that day ,I was looking desperately for someone's hand to get a help so that I could get up ,then luckily I saw 2 boys who were my classmates passing through the street ,they looked at me and my bag bottle all the stuff on the road and giggled ,they said ( ohh dekho bhens gir gai, dekho zameen ko fracture ho gaya hoga kal repair karana padega) ,I told them i ve got a sprain can someone help me but they didn't even listen or turned back.
That day I cried a little ,but I really didn't knew that time that this is the reality of this world. Even after that instance I got to face a lot mockery of my body until I lost my weight. Now I'm working in private sector with 10hrs sitting on the chair and again having weight issues ,MY mom scolds me daily for my weight bcs she thinks no one will choose me. But I feel ,ur increased weight won't give U that pain but if u r dependent on someone for money or support ur life will be miserable.
So don't worry girls, give ur health and career the first priority

It's not always beauty test.
Moms use Haldi on face for the skin to glow and it also has healing properties for many skin conditions. Using haldi is always better than some soap like dove. They don't apply haldi thinking about future marriage, this is stupid.
Mom covered the pimples area with hair because she is worried how the fellow classmates or teachers will react seeing them.
The waist measurement and the specs clip doesn't happen usually. Just remember that Indian parents care more about their children then most of the Western countries.

This ad came on and tbh I just watched it for timepass but when the curly haired girls part came I really felt that. My family is pretty modern and stuff but they literally do little things like that. When her grandparent was combing her hair out my dadis and mother's words about my hair played in my min☹️

Yes, there are judgemental people in society but then again:
1. This company peddles Fair and lovely, so it's rich coming from them.
2. These companies feed off insecurities.

dove says stop beauty test but why dove did not take any of these girl in it´s previous ads? why there are always skin faired girl no blemisses on face, no dark toned girl and blah blah..... so dove please dont be contradict be speecific do not put marketing everywhere please do not play with emotions of public.

But on other hand , Dove is a cosmetic base company so they have to advertise with fair people because everyone likes fair colour that's not the fault of dove that's the fault of people mentality ...
