what I hate the more with this channel is that they have such interesting conversation that you just want to chime in and participate in it and you can't, which makes it frustrating lol
still love it tho
SO true. 😂
I have literally paused and had to actively say what I was thinking several times
😂😂😂😂
@@twistysunshine same lol that's how you know they have good topics
I think Carmy is definitely on some self-sabotage bullshit because he does think he doesn't deserve to be happy. He was raised by a substance-abuser with an unregulated mood disorder who uses threats of self-harm and suicide, guilt-tripping, and character attacks to get attention and affirmation from her family-and he looked up to a big, charismatic, larger-than-life brother who repeatedly turned him away. Someone who is always waiting for the other shoe to drop, always tip-toeing around someone else's emotional outbursts and feelings, is going to either end up emotionally stunted, incapable of commitment and intimacy, constantly in "fix it" mode, and shit at communicating if it's not work-related. Or! That person will end up hyper-sensitive to other people's emotions, feel the need to constantly "check in" and gauge where someone's at, and internalize a bunch of guilt for anything the abuser does when it's really not their fault-aka, Natalie.
Do you know me? I feel personally singled out and attacked.😢🥺
"ugly hot yt boi" ?! 😭
The reason Carmy was such a terrible leader this season is he stretched himself too thin trying to be in charge of everything from what cutlery the restaurant will have to hiring new people to designing the kitchen to coming up with dishes. You can be a Michelin star chef but not be any good at time management or a being a business owner. Carmy has no experience with that other side of things.
To me that’s why the fridge scene in the last episode as stupid as it is was so impactful. Carmy has made so many fuck ups because of not focusing on one thing. If he let Sydney just come up with the recipes on her own for instance then he could have spend more time on kitchen setup. But the one thing he has done is give his team the confidence and skills they need so that they can succeed even without him. He doesn’t get to see them or help them succeed but they do… and they do so because of him - because he sent them off to learn and gave Tina his knives and had those chats with Sydney.
If he had allowed them to do more at the start of the season without his approval they would have all got so much more done. But it’s a process and now he has a team who are all confident and know their shit.
exactly. you put it in the best way possible
I think the real punching bag of the family is Natalie. When it’s all said and done, Richie Carmy and the mom all rely on her to save them emotionally.
Also I’m rooting for Syd and Carmy to be end game. I’m not fully convinced their love for each other is platonic.
During Carm's monologue, Sidney told Tina to check the front because she was feeling sick and Tina then told Carm to hold on a sec but he didn't hear
You do know that a manager in Arby's died because she GOT STUCK IN THE FREEZER last may this year.
9:20
Um... The Arby's employee who died stuck in the broken-door freezer in Louisiana back in _May this year_ would have a word with y'all about things that don't happen in real life.👀
yeah if you work in a restaurant you know that stuff is always getting broken and constantly having to be fixed
for real? wow
You guys just talked about the intricacies of this show for an hour and then said it's over hyped come on! Admit it it's a masterpiece! Lol
Also Richie being cured made perfect sense imo, his whole issue was he had no self respect therefore no respect for others. I think he always knew what should be done just like he did with the forks he just never put in the effort to do it whereas with Marcus going to copenhagen he actually needed to learn stuff. Once Richie got his attitude in check he did what he knew he should be doing the whole time
exactly like
Being able to talk an hour about a 10 hour season when you have 4 people with their own viewpoints and opinions, all of which have spent years making conversational longform content.
Not to take away from The Bear, but I wouldn't use that as a masterpiece indicator lol
Not me just realizing that Syd's panic and the focus on the ticket printer was a callback to when the Beef went online in the season 1 finale and the tickets just kept coming, so I think in season 2 we see her confronted with that same exact stressor and this time she rises to the occasion rather than running away.
I was so proud of her! I thought she was going to slip again but she didn't!
That was not what I meant to post at all but I have incredibly fat thumbs so we are just gonna leave it there I gues
I will just say for Richie's change, he was the one calling orders for the Beef for years. Like him and Mikey were working in that place as teens in the 90s. I will not say that it is the exact same as running expo for a high end restaurant. But going from the everyman that kept the Beef afloat to the man that is in the way and doesn't have a role. I think Richie was always going to have the trajectory to be in the role he was in for the last 3 episodes. Even in Fishes, he was telling Cicero that he felt like he had potential, he just needed some guidance and an opportunity. Cicero was on him for years for messing up but Richie wasn't even the f up, it ended up being Mikey.
Ok I thought I was being a hater when Claire annoyed me but it’s not just me lol
No it's not just you she so annoying with call Cam out but in a sarcastic way ALL THE TIME. It comes off passive aggressive
@@lstarsabb ok that’s interesting. I think she was one dimensional in my opinion
@@ChanceViola she is!!! very one dimensional and boring. compared to all the other beautifully crafted characters in the show, she just falls flat and seems annoying to me lol
Not everything has to be realistic, oh my lord. If I wanted realism I would go watch an actual dysfunctional kitchen. There are points in the show that are unrealistic, but it's serving a purpose for the narrative and arcs. That's what I'm here to watch, a good a narrative. Although unrealistic, it's doing it's narrative just.
Llamas
I mean maybe she was just based on Mary (from there's something about Mary) one of the OG manic pixie dream girls - who was also a doctor ....
YAZ Eddy! I said Meteor Man as well when I saw him on screen 😆😂😆
Me too! 🥹
One of the all time best costume montages
From the thumbnail I was like she look familiar I just couldn’t quite place it. It’s been a while since I seen the show I watched it all the day it came out. Glad y’all talking about it.
Damn I just realized I forgot to shout out my nigga Mac
0:59 Agree!!!!!!!! The series completely lost me at the introduction of that relationship
So glad I found this video. My most hated scene in the first two seasons was when Claire overheard Carmi having a meltdown in the fridge. I was like, both of y’all are slow, but Claire, you’re a doctor. If anyone can understand stress and how it can take you to a dark place when you fail, it should be Claire. I was fully expecting her to talk him down off the ledge, but instead she just starts feeling sorry for HERSELF and leaves him there locked in the fridge!!! She ran back there with so much concern like she was about to be there for somebody. 😂 And then she made him feel 10x worse! 😂 It’s not funny. But it’s funny, man. 😂 Stupid Claire! It’s like the writer’s created all this fake tension and conflict, then made all the characters suck. Why, tho?! 🫠
I think "its not realistic" is kind of a cop out sometimes for not interrogating the narrative at times. Like sure Richie and Claire do unrealistic shit but it's to serve a purpose for a narrative. Tropes aren't bad and they usually serve a purpose.
lmao, "Mentor Man is my Batman".
When i cant tell you im so glad this was made im not on my own here
I think the things about mental health and trying to mature as a professional and be there for people in you personal life is valid. My only complaint from a women who engages in hetero dating is that communicating that, setting boundaries, and not promising more than you can deliver is an issue. Because women are in the same position but rarely have the same expectation on their partner that their partner should be a tool for their emotional growth.
Dead at how to pronounce Cannes.
The good thing about Claire, I wont miss her in season 3
