    What a great video! Thank you for making this, it helped me decide on the Encore X for sure!

    Thank you for the review. We purchased the Bee, but it is too bumpy on the state park gravel paths. Our daughter also slumps down in the non-padded seat. We managed to order the Encore X today on Black Friday sale for $479. Excellent deal. We got the used Bee at a garage sale for $100. So it was a inexpensive way to learn it didn't suit our needs.

    Wonderful review! It really does make choosing one of these so much easier. I had one question though, that I don't think was covered, and I'm sorry if it was and missed it. What's the difference between the D'lite and the Encore X in terms of the rear window. Does one have more ventilation or access options than the other, or do they each function more or less the same? Thanks so much!

    • @Twowheelingtotsbikes
      @Twowheelingtotsbikes  Před 3 lety

      Great question. The rear window is the same. It's mesh covered with a plastic layer. The bottom of the plastic is open to provide ventilation. On the D'lite X, the rear plastic has zips on the side and can be rolled up similar to the front plastic cover.

    It's almost criminal they charge $600 and don't even include the 2 front wheels to convert to a stroller.

      But it's still one of the most affordable trailers... good bike trailers aren't cheap. 😭😭

      @@Twowheelingtotsbikes indeed. Not the most affordable hobby for sure. But at this price wouldn't you be better off just buying a Thule (which does include the front stroller wheels)?

    Great review. How reclined is the seats in the Burley Encore X, would it be OK for children to sleep or would the angle be too steep and their heads would lull forward? Thanks

    • @Twowheelingtotsbikes
      @Twowheelingtotsbikes  Před 2 lety +1

      The most reclined position is not very reclined compared to the Thule Cross, Qeridoo Kidgoo, or Hamax Outback. We actually use the reclined position as our normal everyday position. Kids will sleep anyways if they are tired, but there head is much more likely to roll forward in a Burley.

    Hey! I was undecided between the kidgoo2 and Encore x, but I made my mind up thanks to your videos. I got the Encore x. Great trailer, comfortable enough for my two children. However I must say the only bit disappointing thing is the rubber in the handle bar wchich smells a bit cheap and leaves a rubbery smells on my hands . It is a bit strange that this is the second time I subscribe to this channel. THANKS!

    • @tylercox8819
      @tylercox8819 Před rokem +1

      It's a somewhat simple fix if the smell bothers you! I cut the foam off with cheap scissors then just used bar tape for road bikes and made my own! 20 minute job if you know what you're doing. I'm also sure your LBS would do it pretty cheap If you didn't want to do it yourself!

    Is there any ventilation on the sides? We need features that accommodate a hot climate

    • @Twowheelingtotsbikes

      There's not. But no trailer in the US has side ventilation. We live in TX and it's fine.

    • @Twowheelingtotsbikes

      Definitely depends on the kid. The D'Lite's recline certainly helps though.

    Is there any way convert this to a one seat version by unclipping the straps and moving a single option to the middle please? Also, I take it you need a bike stand if you ever want to stop and get off your bike?

    • @Twowheelingtotsbikes
      @Twowheelingtotsbikes  Před 2 lety +2

      1. You cannot move the straps to put the child in the center. If you want to use it with only one child, they will have to sit on the side OPPOSITE of the tow arm.
      2. The trailer is designed to remain upright if your bike is on its side. You can lay your bike flat on the ground and the trailer stays upright.

    • @Twowheelingtotsbikes
      @Twowheelingtotsbikes  Před 3 lety +1

      You can't remove them, but you can collapse them down flat for use as a cargo trailer. That should probably work.

  • @Daniel-tl2ln
    @Daniel-tl2ln Před 2 lety

    I wonder if you tested or have clue which one is better for both running and cycling(probably more running) Encore X or Thule Cheetah? I had Thule single, now I need double, I love Thule and I would love to stay with Thule but it is so crazy expensive that's not even fun.
    I read for Encore X that I could run just using that one small wheel, it helps with turns, so no need to buy jogging kit. While Thule has two small wheels and with that it's a must to buy jogging wheel kit.
    Encore X is slightly cheaper than Thule and if I can get away with the small wheel for running then it's a lot cheaper(150-200 CAD difference). Originally I wanted Thule Cross 2, but due to price I am thinking Burley Encore X, Thule Cheetah XT or Aosom 3in1.

    • @Twowheelingtotsbikes
      @Twowheelingtotsbikes  Před 2 lety

      The Cheetah XT has been discontinued, so not sure you could get one.. .but the Thule Chariot Lite might be a good, lightweight option as well.
      I have run with all of the Thule and Burley trailers. I've run with double stroller wheels, single stroller wheels, and jogging kits. I personally don't like jogging kits because the stationary front wheel makes it very hard to manuever. That said, the stationary wheel is a safety feature so that if you hit an obstacle running at high speed, your front wheel won't jerk to the side and cause a crash.
      I don't run fast enough for that to have ever been an issue, but if you do run at fast speeds, we highly recommend getting a jogging kit for safety.
      While the single front wheel of the Encore X is excellent, if you'll be using the trailer primarily for running, it could be annoying because it sticks out so far in the front. That said, if you buy the Encore X, you also have the option to upgrade to 2 stroller wheels or to a jogging wheel if you don't like the feel of the single stroller wheel of the single stroller wheel. More options on the Burley than with the Thule.

      It’s actually pretty straightforward. Burley has official assembly videos that make it much easier then just reading the manual.
