Velma season 2 is around the corner which makes me question WB's business practices because they're canceling projects left and right that actually have a demand for them like Coyote Vs. Acme but Velma got two seasons even though it was panned by audiences. But why make shows that people actually want to see when you can do the opposite of that? Makes sense if you don't think about it. Actually it doesn't, even if you turn your brain off. XD

top 10 worst things about velma.
1. She's so horrible her Wikipedia page lists her as a villain.
2. The meta humor is so bad, it wouldn't suprise me at some point they'll tell a joke and someone in the background would hold a sign saying "LAUGH."
3. Velma is such a bad detective she'll get mad at person for mansplanning the mystery to her, then ten seconds later she'll tell them well I still need the information
4. The punching bag fred is the best part of the series.
5. Somehow when people are trying to make strong modern female characters, they think psychopathic is the way to go.
6. The villain is the source of their own problems. "My son is a litteral man child." "Have you thought about not spoiling him, and teaching him about taking care of himself?" "Nope I'm just going to kill him."
7. The bad fanfiction is strong in this one.
8. Why bother with learning a lesson the world needs to learn its lesson.
9. It's debatable that showing the corpse of scooby is a good thing.
10. So many other shows were sacrificed for this.

Before Velma was released, the detractors were labelled the typical "misogynists/sexist/racist".
After it was released, the ones throwing labels declared that Velma was a right-wing psyop and Mindy Kaling was a secret Conservative.

I don't think knuckles and velma releasing in the same week is a barbernheimer situation because the difference is that barbenheimer helped both movies become successful whereas knuckles will obviously be successful while velma will be left on the back burner

And there’s the fact that I have to wait on the release date of the Chainsaw Man Reze Arc movie.
Warner Discovery CEO Steve Zasz (hope I spelled that right) has not been doing that good a job of running the studio. Especially in the animation department (i.e. Coyote vs
Acme, Bye Bye Bunny, etc.)! And we're talking about an animation studio that made a name for itself in animation with its Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies shorts! Hopefully, creators will start pushing back and getting some changes made.

That's why all this is bull crap on one hand you have the Wylie Coyote movie with some people who actually saw the movie said it was good but the CEO of Warner Brothers decided not to release it why it was never known some theories suggested that due to the box office failure of space jam 2 the CEO probably had cold feet about the Wylie Coyote movie and decided they're not going to take a risk with an animated movie despite the fact that some people who actually saw believe it should have been given a chance to be released in the theaters this is why I'm not so concerned about the upcoming Looney tunes movie starring porky pig and Daffy duck the only promotion the movie has gotten was a poster there has been no trailer for the movie. On the other hand Velma the most hated show in the entire world and for some reason got a second season I understand it was due to a contract but still you think Warner Brothers would try to bury it

He legit did the reairings of Iron Giant for thanksgiving several years back. Last Ceo was rumored he is the reason Spirited Away got several reairings on tv too. These people at least showed some appreciation for animation.
And those who lived through the CN real days thought that was bad. At least with CN real we got the actors in some of their shows become the Actors for Miles Morales and A-Train years down the line.

You know it's pretty sad that Gigi, one of the "mean" popular girls, is one of the more likable and sympathetic characters in this show compared to this version of Velma.

Velma hated Daphne because, VELMA pushed Daphne away and she found new friends. Velma is now popular, (even though Norvell killed the killer). So now that she's popular she's pushing Daphne away again.
Velma's mom is a deadbeat failed murder mystery writer, who was an alcoholic, and her husband was the one paying the bills. Yet of course Fred's dad falls in love with her because inner beauty.
Fred got the machine, and is investigating supernatural occurrences. Fred is the one who started it all not Velma, but she'll get the credit.
I swear i kept saying that Gigi was going to become scooby doo, but it looks like they might be going their this season. Somehow they're going to put a human brain inside a dog and call it scooby. Most likely it might be whatever fell off from Lola's brain.
If you watch this you have our deepest sympathies.
I know that just got a second season due to a contract and all but why the hell didn't David Zalvak didn't straight up cancel it because he didn't have a problem canceling the Wylie Coyote movie

Hey remember that one episode of What's New Scooby Doo where the perpetrator was a narcissistic AI from a futuristic house that wanted to imprison our favorite characters and other people to get attention from them all the time. So Velma told everyone to close their eyes and not talk to this AI no matter what happened. And after a tantrum, she finally destroyed herself because not being the center of attention was so unbearable for her? Now replace the AI with Mindy and this life lesson becomes 100 times better 😊

I wouldn't have minded a Hex Girls cartoon a la Josie and the Pussycats, but I also would have loved to see a spin-off with the Ghoul School girls just to see their own monster antics with perhaps a fun twist on the Scooby-Doo formula with the five girls traveling to scare humans and learn how to be fearsome monsters.
Let’s just hope that Velma doesn’t ruin the Hex Girls like they did with the entire cast of Scooby Doo.
I would 100% be down for the Ghoul girls and some of the other monster friends from the various movies and spin offs to get their own series. It would be really cute to see the girls happy to meet their Coaches again!

The thing is about Velma is that you *can* have a show with a jerky POS protagonist. What it doesn't get, however, is that the audience isn't supposed to be rooting for them nor is that character in the right for everything that they do. That's what makes her really unlikable. Also, I'm okay with the whole bi Velma thing but of course it falls into the "bi character is bi because they crush and cheat on both characters thing" 😭

Um, got a correction for the Scooby-Doo & Krypto Too movie thing. It was actually never cancelled. It was always intended for the fall release that it had in the end. It's just that the movie leaked online early and some journalist claimed that it was cancelled in light of the Batgirl movie. The writer, Tim Sheridan, stated as such, but it seems the tweet that confirms this has been deleted.

I wish people who watch Scooby Doo would stop saying Shaggy is always hungry because he's on drugs or gets high. It's not funny. He just likes to eat. Plain and simple. If you have watched "Scooby-Doo! and the Monster of Mexico", he and Scooby have high metabolism which is the reason why both eat a lot.

Anyway sugie or maggie rogers last appeared in episode "Wedding Bell Boos" of the new Scooby and Scrappy-Doo show a continuation of the original timeline. Although studios need to PREPARE to film a sequel or an additional season, the execs need to LEARN TO WAIT and see if the current movie or season is SUCCESSFUL, BEFORE greenlighting said sequel or additional season! Doing otherwise will just WASTE MONEY, driving down the studio's stock value, as Warner Bros. and Disney are learning the Hard Way.
I mean you can tell a better story when you know you have more time then one season, but yeah. Isnt the case here.

It's so bizarre to me. There are writers out there that try to make unsympathetic characters, only for people to sympathize with them when that wasn't the intention. Meanwhile, Velma makes an unsympathetic character COMPLETELY by accident. Like something about that comes off as some kinda meta joke to me.
I can only theorize that this reflects on the skills of the writers. You set out to do one thing with your characters, and then do the complete opposite. I don’t see how they’re not embarrassed by this. It’s like a jeweler setting out to make a necklace, and instead completely melting all of the metal.😓
wouldn't this Knuckles and Velma launch be the 3rd time two greatly different genre franchises being released at the same time? Considering the current generation. The first would be Animal Crossing and DOOM Eternal, then Oppenheimer and Barbie. Knuckles and Velma would be counted 4th if we count the big three. Spider-Man's Wonder Stars (Spider-Man 2, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and Sonic Superstars)
I honestly wish they would finish the Wile E. Coyote movie. It would of been much better than this.

It's funny how we're getting season 2 of Smiling Friends (one of the best adult animated series') and season 2 of Velma (one of the worst adult animated series') in the same year. Truly the duality of man.

Not to mention that these cults are always depicted as Satanic, which is tone deaf because modern Satanists are not a cult. They don't even worship Satan in the traditional sense and they basically use him as a figurehead to promote individualism. It's always funny that Hollywood always makes cults Satanic but they never make them something similar to Jehovah's Witness or the Moonies, which are actual cults.
That would require actually researching enough psychology and sociology to understand why cults work in the first place…and so many of these writers seem almost allergic to any form of research. How many don’t even bother to watch any of the original series if they get hired onto a reboot?

I’m gonna play devils advocate for Hazbin and say that it doesn’t use swears or crude behavior as the punchline to most of their jokes most people swear in the show because that’s just how they talk much like in real life the crude humor is also a personality trait in about 3 characters and they each have a specific reason for doing so tldr Hazbin while has some crude humor doesn’t rely on it nearly as much as people say
Every new piece of information on the Batgirl movie makes it sound like something that WB cuda released, if only to make back some of the money it's spent-an endeavor in which I would have gladly contributed.
Didn't watch the first season and I have no desire to watch the second one. I do appreciate you covering the seasons because it saves me the trouble of actually having to watch them and for anyone who's curious I always tell them to watch your videos on the subject. Velma season 2 is like when someone in a group brings that one outsider friend of their own to a gathering and nobody gels with them. Everyone collectively agrees that they're garbage tier for the dynamic at hand, but the one to bring the interloper is like "Nah nah you gotta give them a second chance!" so, out of the goodness of their hearts ticking down to full blown regret, they begrudgingly let them on for a second outing, fearing the worst of their first impression, and expecting a dull baseline of annoyance at best.

I just can't wrap my head around WB's long term goals. They give this show two seasons, try everything they can to delete Coyote vs Acme despite there being a noteworthy audience interested in watching it, and they decided that their new DC games are just live service games with not great plots. What do they expect to achieve by making all the wrong choices?

They write this as a prequel and yet we already had an amazing prequel esque show in mystery inc. I mean they’re in high school in Velma and they were in high school in mystery inc. only difference is mystery inc. is a good show with great characters and story beats meanwhile Velma is “laugh at our jokes because we know the show is bad guys” just because you know the show you’re writing is bad doesn’t mean anything it actually makes it so much worse, there’s a fine line between funny bad and just bad the only thing that had me laughing in season 1 was Velma getting hit by a car. That was genuinely the one and only time I laughed which is sad to say since mystery inc. had me laughing at the beginning of the show need I remind everyone of “that is so spooky where did they go?” “What part of the word mystery didn’t you understand” snarky and still funny because it doesn’t rely on meta joke that won’t be relevant in 6 months. How does this show get greenlit for two seasons in one go meanwhile some good shows don’t even get off the ground

Kahling's contract forces WBD to have both seasons, or else she gets a big payout. Bigger than the show bombing. The other cancellations are, sadly, business as normal. Most of them were greenlit under the previous boss, and the new boss ALWAYS wipes the slate as clean as possible. The only reason we, the audience, are hearing about it is because the Media HATES David Zaslav, so they're painting whatever he does in the worst light possible. And the only reason they hate him is because he's not Left leaning enough.
