If you can, just make the Space Cadets a team in Houston. You already have the brand and everything! If not, then I say a franchise where one used to be: Indy, Atlanta, Quebec, etc. I also think Utah would be a good idea too in the States
It's in the owners' contract that if the team doesn't win a Stanley Cup in their first year, they screw the fanbase and move to a new city to try again. Houston here we come baby!

I would make like the Houston Space Cadets as you already have the branding, defiantly download the real life draft class and I would say expansion draft and ypu become the 32 team in the league removing the Kracken. If you do fantasy draft I feel the team could be to good. P.S. would appreciate a Jersey :)
Relocate the Coyotes to Houston as the Space Cadets! Trade away every player on the team for picks, sign the worst free agents and rebuild from there.

Playing every game definitely makes this tough, you should swap to every other game or only play 3rd periods, etc. at the very least if you don't want to full sim.

I would love to see the Kamloops Space Cadets. It’s been tough up here in BC this year with all the floods and fires surrounding us. Kamloops once had fires in every direction around the city this summer. I’m sure having this fictional team in Kamloops would give at least some good news for once. This isn’t me trying to make things up, I’m just hoping that at least you will consider it.

I'm excited for nine months from now when the next one comes out
Corwin, on these higher difficulties you have to play like this hockey and not online play. Position your players to block their offence, and move the puck around in the offensive zone so that you can get shots off.
*Defence:*
Blocking shots:
Don’t be afraid to set your guys up in front of their shooters and block shots, redirects and rebounds are pretty much for sure goals so don’t let them happen.
Pressure in the defensive zone:
You gotta keep swapping players and attacking them in your zone, body checks, stick on puck, stick lifts, and just rushing the puck carrier is the name of the game. Stop backing off and making them space because on the higher difficulties you get none.
Helping your goaltender:
You often let them walk all over your goaltender, there’s 3 of their guys at your net and none of your guys. When the puck is in front of the net start pushing them with the body check button, stick lifts, and poke checks are very helpful to keeping pucks out of the net.
Breakouts:
When you get that puck after being aggressive and blocking shot lanes back your puck carrier up and take a look, hold down the pass button whether it’s a saucer pass or just regular pass and find an open man. Don’t be afraid to use the board bank, net bank, toe drag, L1/RB loos pick deke, or any other deke that can make some space.
*Middle Ice:*
This is the no trick zone, no tricks. Move that puck fast by sprinting to their blue line maybe even using some backwards skating and passing to create space for your break in.
*Offensive Zone Break In:*
This is by far the hardest part, this is when you gotta cut through 2-5 guys without losing the puck because if you do it’s likely a 3-1 back to your end. So, what can you do?
Dump and Chase:
This is gonna require either some power forwards or 2 way forwards on your line cause even though snipers and playmakers are fast you can easily get your top scorers injured so I always suggest a big heavy center or winger on any scoring line. Once you get to about halfway past the red line hold the saucer pass button and tap the shooting stick forward. This will dump it in.
Now for the most essential part, get your guys moving on that puck, hopefully it will have landed behind their net so your faster guys can cut through and grab it. Before you try to set up anything you gotta get that puck and player somewhere useful so start moving along the boards or if you got the chance bring it right out front of the net.
The Rush:
The more risky of the 2, but also less difficult to set up once your in their zone. Create some space from the defenceman on the side you are on and cut along the boards using a deke or 2. Once in you can change direction quickly and put it to your point men.
*Offence:*
Fundamentals:
You should always be moving the puck, they will attack at all times so move that puck around and get their players out of shot blocking positions.
Make sure to use those dekes, there’s lots of them and tutorials teaching how to use them so USE THEM.
Use your skill stick. You can move the puck around away from opposing players using it and the A/X button so USE IT.
Setting up the point:
Move that puck deeps to get their players to focus deep, then quickly with a saucer pass bank it off the boards to your point man and move it to the opposite side to your other point. With 2 of their guys stuck in the corner you are free to make some moves either repeating that step in the corner or cycling around to open up the center shot lane. Defence are essential to your offensive game on higher difficulties so use them.
Only pass to open players:
Never ever pass through someone, sometimes it will work but 90% of the time it ends with your guys getting caught deep and them getting a good breakout. If you have no open man board bank or do a short range dump by taping R1/RB as you pulling your skill stick to your forward and shoot. This can easily ring a puck around the boards to your players.
Cycle between point and side board players:
often times you can get their players moved and either a straight in rush to the net from the point with a player, or a rush from the side boards with a play out front can happen. These are dangerous chances for you so use them.
Last but not least take slap shots or wrist shots from the point. Point shots create lots of rebound chances and redirects along with sometimes just going in on their own.
Tips on creating and executing chances:
-aim your shots, try to shoot where it’s open and be deceptive with your movement to create those open shots lanes.
-aim your passes, weak and unaimed passes are easy to pick off so don’t use them. If you are in a position where you don’t have time, make time and space with some movement and dekes.
-in the defensive zone use that triangle/Y hold to get the puck, also use L1/LB and R1/RB to block shots and passes along with R1/RB by itself to get stick on puck.
*Building your team:*
Your teams are built very poorly, although they look good on paper the chemistry and usability is not there. Try to math a playmaker with a sniper, and try to throw in a TWF or Power Forward in there.
Read their intended role as well in their information to see where they best fit in a team as well. Aim for the best + morale you can because + morale on young players increases their skills much much faster and they will set themselves up in special ways that assist in offence and breakouts.
Also this is an NHL22 specific thing but try and match up X Factor abilities with once that work good together.
Heat seeker with increased deflection skill, tape to take with puck magnet and or Snnipe.
Ankle breaker with a player with make it snappy works great too.
When you set up your defence try to put rightys on the left side and leftys on the right side to make getting shots off easier.
Also, any goalie under 87 rating is pretty bad for some reason so when you are in free agents try and grab one above that rating.
There’s many more tips but these are a good start for you to be able to play well

The Quebec team can be the Quebec Fur Trappers. Every time they score a goal they sit on the ice, one sitting between another's legs, use sticks like an oar of a canoe and the players and the crowd can sing "Alouette Gentille Alouette".
Like in the Trapper skit on "Kids In The Hall".

Honestly the most surprising thing to me is that this game simulated the Flames making it to the Stanley Cup finals

Here is my official campaign to start the Portland Pizzlies. They have been my personal franchise mode expansion team since NHL 2016 but sadly I can not continue their legacy as gm as I am not making the move to next gen consoles. I am so proud of the organization and their 4 consecutive Stanley cups, and it would be nothing but an honor to be followed by such a great gm such as Corwin.
