An absurd comment. FDR was great thinker and speaker and never lost that talent up unitl his death. Biden was a catrastophically diminished man last night in every way possible . Job one was to dampen down the fears that he was too old , too frail and incoherent . He made it worse not better. I am voting for Biden too - I really love the 7.8% interest rate. Poor people with bad or no credit are the ones who really feel the interest rate pinch. But screw them, right, because orange is bad?

Richard, given trump’s plans for the economy, and his own dubious financial history, thinking that he should exert control over interest rates is…loony.
Biden may have slowed down , his speech and thinking is slowed, BUT, he is balanced and aware enough to lead the nation. Trump stirs up ignorance and hate, he brings out the worst in desperate and emotionally frail men.
I don't think his thinking has slowed at all; he's as sharp as a tack. But he also has very unrealistic expectations about how Trump will conduct himself on the stump, how the media will cover him and who the uncommitted voters are and how they'll perceive him. And he is physically, for want of a better term, rigid, in the way that someone with Parkinson's or bad arthritis is rigid.

Our electorate is mostly younger than him and frustrated and angry. They look for simple solutions and that may tilt things toward the party of the simpletons. DJT says the things they want to hear.

I am President Biden's half age and I can assure anyone that if my last 2 weeks had been like his, I would not be standing there not even 10 minutes. He is the greatest American President of all times and it's very sad that so many people cannot see that.
BS. I'm half his age, too. My mother died two months ago, I have a serious chronic illness that's on a rampage of a flare right now and causes me to faint if I stand in one place for more than ten minutes, and I'm still working to overcome a brain injury from a decade ago.

Alan Lichtman who created the 13 keys presidential election prediction model said last night that replacing Biden is the worst thing Democrats could do. It instantly flips the incumbency key and probably guarantees Trump wins. He reminded everyone that our history is littered with cases that show that presidential debates just have never been determinative of election results. Debate Losers win elections fairly commonly. And vice versa.

FIRST = Voting for President is NOT a popularity contest - You don't vote for President #A vs #B because you LIKE one better.
Instead, you vote for President A because:
(1) You want President A in charge of the country;
(2) You find President A more trustworthy;
(3) You want to see President A's & their Party's policies enacted;
(4) You want President A's judicial nominees appointed (including to the Supreme Court);
(5) You want President A to pick who will lead & set the agenda for the government agencies;
(6) You want President A to lead and command our military;
(7) You want President A to direct our National Intelligence Agencies and believe he can be trusted with our highest level national security secrets;
(8) You want President A to make and keep our international treaties, agreements, and promises to our allies;
(9) You want President A because you believe they will be compassionate, kind, caring and supportive of Americans in tragedy or national disaster;
(10) You want President A's morals and values to be a shining example of America to the world and to our children;
(11) You want President A to support the down-ballot success of their party and to push their party's policies;
(12) You want President A to be set the economic agenda and to use the power of government to help our economy;
These are the MAIN reasons you vote for a President.
Of course, you may want to take into consideration other things like age (Both Biden and Trump are elderly - so they cancel each other out on that issue),
You may want to also consider obvious indications of personal ethics while outside and inside of government, and other similar factors.
SECOND: Convicted Felon Donald Trump: 34 Felony Convictions (so far), Known Sexual Preadator, 6 times Bankrupt, thousands of lawsuits against him, Confirmed Multiple Fraudster, hundreds of millions in legal fines, and 3 more trials to go - including gross violations and breaches of National Security Secrets
THIRD: Character matters, and along with Intelligence, Experience, and Temperament, make up the key elements we must apply to assess a presidential candidate.
Summary: No rational, same, honest person would hire Trump, trust Trump with your 17 year old daughter, of vote for Trump President, let alone City Council.
Think about it.

That debate was *painful* to watch! Biden seemed so frail, mumbling throughout the evening, but today he is vigorously speaking in NC. I haven’t yet seen how many Americans watched the debate, but it was brutal to endure as a Democrat.

My takeaway from last night.
1. Biden is a horrible debater and laid an egg.
2. Trump is dangerous and needs to be kept as far away from the White House as possible
3. Biden has been a good president and cares about Americans.
Biden needs to fire the team that prepared him for the debate. They don't understand what a televised debate is. It's not a debate, it's a show. How they missed that I don't know.

I was pretty depressed at Biden's weak showing last night. He plainly did not feel great and if it had been a lesser event he might have called in sick. But when the dust settles, it was just a debate, sort of. It was not a vote. And one evening of not looking great against a backdrop of 50 years of service maybe should not loom that large in importance. Trump did what he always does--lied, spewed insults, and answered every question with 'it's the migrants!"

The debate was a disaster but anyone that understands what a threat Trump is, isn't going to change their vote for Biden. If Trump would have done a horrible job, he wouldn't lose any votes from his base. The issue is with a minority of the country that is undecided or don't have any strong opinions one way or the other.
What astounds me is that there are undecided voters.

After watching it with Hal Sparks, i didn’t think it was that bad. I recommend watching it again and you’ll see it was an ok performance.

The position of U.S. President is not a single man job, he makes the final say on items proposed to by staff. He may have his own plans, still he needs other politicians to agree. It's a position solely based on thought, nothing physical. The American public has been made confused on what the president is.

I love Joe. He is a nice man, very honest, and has been a great president without a doubt.
Right now, he has to step down because a lot is at stake (democracy, Supreme court judge appointments which we are already trailing, our country and our futures, etc) and we cannot afford to blow it.
Let's be honest, knowing what is at stake, it will be selfish of him not to step down after this term. It's a patriotic thing to do and will be highly and forever commendable.
We need somebody like Michael Obama, Josh Shapiro, Mike Cuban, or someone else that is great, bold, tough, and sharp ... Definitely not a boring, weak, confused, and push-over politician.

" For weeks, people have been talking about how incumbent presidents never do well in the first debate, then are freaking out because Biden wasn't great at the start. Yet, he answered questions while The Felon avoided them and lied with impunity without a single challenge from the piss poor moderators. (BTW, Jake and Dana, 'unbiased' doesn't mean keeping your mouth shut when you damn well know better.) Biden is a good president, and the other guy is a threat to democracy. This isn't rocket science.
