- Buying a caravan from a caravan site, what a amazing caravan site in staffordshire. We went to buy a used Bailey caravan form someone at Longnor Wood caravan site. We buy a used Bailey twin axle caravan, but get taken by this stunning caravan site in Staffordshire, with top gear roads on the way it is a great place to stay, Once you have parked the caravan you get to drive on these top gear roads when seeing local attractions.

Loved the view will definitely look at booking. Could I just ask, I thought it is a legal requirement to have towing mirrors when towing a caravan?
Yes you should always have mirrors on, points and fine if caught so not worth the risk. You can get away if you car is wider and you have the correct view from your normal mirrors. But its not worth the risk of getting pulled over and checked.
How come you don’t use towing mirrors on your car I thought it was a legal requirement
If your vehicle is as wide or wider than what you are towing you can het away without mirrors, but really its not worth the risk as you will normally get pulled over and checked.

The series 3 pampolonas were the best in my opinion here’s a question for you mark if a caravan has soft closing over head lockers can you still travel with stuff in the lockers ?
Depends what you have in them, Still not worth it if its heavy items cans etc, but clothes and things that won't do damage if they did fall out should be fine.

When you buy a van, especially from storage site, how do you check the legal ownership before you buy.
You can do the Cris check which should tie up with the cris document, then ask for ID which driving license is best as you then have photo id and everything should match. Again checking every window chassis plate on the caravan to make sure the cris nber matches everything on the caravan also.

Yes Points and fine for not having mirrors on. Fortunately With the size of the car its wider than the caravan and I can get away without mirrors. But most cars do need mirrors, and when towing 8ft wide we need mirrors as its then wider than the car.
