    Bought one last year for $300 and mine came with a grass catcher and roller.
    Just recently back-lapped it as well have it an oil change and filter change. If your an entry level reel mower it’s def worth getting it.

    I just picked up an old Toro GreensMaster 1000. Need a little bit of care as it was not used for 10+ years and sat in a basement all that time.
    We pulled it out added oil and gas. Well it did not start on the first pull but it did start on the 2nd pull and I think it will be 1st pull from here on.
    Needs a good cleaning and tune up. The spacing actually seems good to the cutting bar and I will backlap it tomorrow while giving it a tune up - Fresh pugs oil. Believe it or not the filter looks brand new.
    If you want to try something insane... Go look at a locke mower or find someone that has one. I was tempted today to buy one - but the thing was too much of a beast as this one was what is calles a triplex and had side wings that fold down for a 72" cut.. But if you find one near by what an awesome blast from the past video that would be. They used to be the only mower to cut the white house lawn with and they perhaps still have a fleet of them.

    Love ALL your videos, you're intelligent, kind, and just pure brilliant. You've taught me so much and you have a great sense of timing and humor, thanks ever so much. Additionally, your daughter is precious and your wife is lovely (and heroic pushing that massive Greensmower A+++)! I live in zone 7A in NY, I'm redoing my 1/4 acre lawn with Kentucky Blue and Perrenial Rye from the SuperSeed Store and I'm about to buy a the McLane 20" Reel Mower with Grooved Roller, brand new from McLane's ... I watched your recent video when you went to TruCut's Factory but I'm a 90-pound weakling, and yikes, I fear their equipment is too heavy for me. So, do you still approve of McLanes? You are by far my favorite lawn channel, and your opinion means a lot to me. God bless you and your beautiful family ... oh, and gorgeous lawn! Thanks very much :)

    I saw your video where you picked up (from the factory) a Tru Cut. So, do you prefer the Tru Cut of the McLane?? Honestly, as I watch videos, read, and shop, the McLane looks like a great choice for a home lawn. I like the drive system and it looks like the maintenance would be fairly easy. Always helpful videos, George! Much appreciated.

    • @PrincessCutLawnCare
      @PrincessCutLawnCare  Před 2 lety

      I think it really comes down to where you can service the mower. They are all great mowers but service is key. Do you have somebody close that can service a mclane? If so it’s a great mower 👍

    • @4XLibelle
      @4XLibelle Před 2 lety +1

      @@PrincessCutLawnCare There are no local or nearby places that service these mowers. Thus my decision on which brand will largely be determined by ease of maintenance expectations. Not only are there no dealers or service centers close, I've never even used (or seen up close, really) a reel mower. I'm hoping to find someone who will let me take a close look at theirs soon. It's a lot of money for something you can't try out first! Thus, I am most appreciative of your informative channel.

    Never tried a toro unit but I’ve had 3 McLanes. Back lapping is easier w the drill adapter. I’ve not tried the backslapping kit that McLane sells but you’ve got to back lap if you want those fine clippings. McLanes are easy to work on and simple for most people and short learning curve. My current McLane is a 20 in 10 blade with the smoothe roller and wishing I had the grooved roller but still works well compared to the front wheel kit which I have and it will never see the light day. If you want a reel mower you have to pony uP for the roller or you won’t be happy, it stands the grass blades up, distributes the weight of the mower and like this guy says it keeps you from scalping if your lawn is not good and flat. Happy mowing!
