I lived in Tiptree during the 80’s & 90’s, I was then in my mid twenties & thirties. I remember the waft of oranges coming across the fields when they would make the marmalade. There is a wonderful museum there & you can visit the tea rooms for fresh cream scones & Tiptree strawberry jam at certain times of the year. There is also a produce & gift shop where you can buy their jams & other related produce. Sadly I had to move after living there for around 12 years. Tiptree is a very special place & I miss it.
Where is tiptree?? I lived with my husband and children for 3 months in the Chester area. Would have loved to see this!!! I eat these jams here in the states 😋
Not sure where the Elf and safety is at Tiptree ! Worker trips over the pallet on the floor !!! AND THEN throws a moldy grapefruit in the bin but ignores the fact that the surrounding grapefruit are covered in mold ! I'm rethinking my shopping preferences. In fact just making a large amount of marmalade at home instead.
There’s a nice little museum in the tea rooms on the site of the factory.
