Top 10 cultural facts about Cameroon:
1- Don't do eye contact with an older person when addressing them. Or a person higher up in hierarchy to you.
2- Don't offer a hand for a handshake to a more noble person or an older person, it's consider disrespectful when a younger and/or less noble person offers the hand in a handshake.
3- Don't offer a left hand for a handshake, it's disrespectful unless the right hand is incapacitated.
4- Don't use first names to address an acquaintance unless you have been given the greenlight to. Use mister or madam.
5- Cameroonians use aunties to address younger women, even when they're strangers and uncles for younger men, try to do same.
Older persons can be addressed as sirs or madams. You can use papa or mama for acquaintances.
6- Don't enter someone's carpeted room with your shoes on, even if they're clean. It's disrespectful.
7- When you meet someone first in a place of meeting, you as the new arrival offer a greeting first.
Always offer a greeting when meeting people it is considered very disrespectful otherwise.
8-Be sensitive to the dressing and music in the environment. Cameroonians like people to dress the part as appropriate to their circumstances. Eg people dress up for church and get togethers. It's seen as disdainful to dress down to such events.
Cameroonians are also particular about their music which they consider some of the best in the world, don't be harsh to judge it openly.
9- When offered food in a meeting, do oblige your host. Always turning down food is considered disrespectful except for health reasons.
10- Aside from music, be careful about debates on politics, religion and sexuality here. While Cameroonians are some of the most open-minded and friendlier people on the continent, they can be quite limited in their worldview on these subjects as well.
Also soccer /football and language disparities especially comparing english with french can be dicey topics here.
I have a chance to settle in Cameroon for 5 years, that's why I'm watching videos I really interested to explore Cameroon, love from Pakistan 🇵🇰
Cameroonian and proud to be . Land of treasures ❤🇨🇲🇨🇲🇨🇲🇨🇲
hmm toi la tu es partout hien
They say that Cameroon is Africa in one country.
My country Cameroon 🇨🇲🇨🇲 is known for its hospitality. Feel free to visit anytime 🤠
Beautiful and hospitable country indeed.
Btw, have you been to all these places shared in the video?
@@TheAfricanScript yes, some not all. Hopefully someday I'll visit the others
Looks nice 🙂

Recently met a girl from Cameroon and shes amazingly kind and big hearted so I came here to learn more about the culture.
Hello. I'm Sean from the USA. Personally, I'm most interested in the Capitol and the wilderness preserve: elephants, hyenas, and Lamarckian giraffes are all of great interest to me. But it's Mount Cameroon your great Mountain Peak that would be the strongest attraction to my fellow Americans and Europeans. I know the tourist business. Thank you for inviting us to your beautiful, stable African country of Cameroon.
Cameroon is very beautiful. African countries should make it easy for Africans to travel within the continent
Great idea.
I believe with the introduction of the African common market, this will change some time to come.
Btw, how many African countries have you visited so far?
I'm from Texas USA, I met a Cameroonian lady online and plan to visit there next year for our initial in person meeting.... I'm looking forward to visiting this beautiful country 😊
Wow!!!
This is great to hear.
Btw, have you ever visited the continent?
@@TheAfricanScript never visited Africa before , but I've always wanted to visit; therefore I'm very excitedl and adamant about coming there next year 😀
@@jerryhall5759 Enjoy you visit to Cameroon 🇨🇲. I am a Cameroonian American living in Dallas, Texas and I travel back every year. It's a beautiful country. Hope it becomes your second home.
Please I will be waiting for you let me know when you are here
I want to visit this year. I need a good tour guide.
I received my African Ancestry Matriclan DNA Test results and am so proud to have restored my ancestor's heritage to the Bamileke People in Cameroon today.
Next year, I will take my ancestors home and will proudly be their vessel back to the motherland.
My Brother, Thanks so much for this video.
Wonderful.......welcome...
Halleluyah. If you're a bamileke, you're one of the 12 tribes of biblical Israel. The true children of Israel are negroes, currently scattered in the 4 corners of the earth due to slave trades. Yah is calling us back home soon..
I've never been to Cameroon; But I've done a LOT of research and exchanged e-mails with some citizens of Cameroon. I think it's a great tourism and investment opportunity. We need to drop all remaining sanctions. Cameroon is a great African state with a wide diversity of pristine wilderness landscapes and great human diversity.
Proud of my Country 🇨🇲🇨🇲🇨🇲
Beautiful Cameroon.
Ngwa, Have you been to all these places shared in the video?
Cameroon is a very beautiful mountainous country!!! It would be nice to hike those mountains!!! TFS!!!

Even though I'm congolese, I would love to visit cameroon one day. I heard Yaounde/Douala is a nice place to go
Awesome video! I am from Paraíba which is the state in Brazil that fits Cameroon in the map! What made me impressed is the similarity that we have in the food! We also eat a lot of corn based food, sweet potato, "iame",potatoes etc!
Wao that's interesting
We are similar in so many things food ball food soil plant etc
I Loved you, @ Inter.
Thanks for showing Cameroon to the rest of the world.Hospitality and lots of fun memories awaits anyone who wants to visit.the food too is just so yummy 😋😋
what many media platforms don't dare to show. Thank you!
Its cities with largest populations are Douala on the Wouri River, its economic capital and main seaport; Yaoundé, its political capital; and Garoua. Cameroon is well known for its native music styles, particularly Makossa and Bikutsi, and for its successful national football team
Couldn’t agree more.
Glad you enjoyed the video.
I love how you focus on the really most important.. Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. 🇨🇲🇨🇲 beautiful country.

Yes
Can you do top 10 interesting facts about Equatorial Guinea.
We shall definitely share some facts about Equatorial Guinea 🇬🇶. Are you from this Central African country?
@@TheAfricanScript No I am from Texas USA.
Equatorial Guinea, please don't go there. They're so mean to foreigners, especially those from my native country Cameroon. I wish I could pay back to each and every Equatorial Guinean for the ill treatment to Cameroonian and other African immigrants.
Peace: = Tourism: =Prosperity!?!!!!??
-M.K.S. Cameroon; can!!
-M.K.S. **(For: "**#AfriCAN_** Unity!!"!!)!?**
Not so much Swahili in Cameroon...
Additionally, its not safe to visit Mount Cameroon, the Bimbia slave port, or Waza. Mount Cameroon and Bimbia are in the South West province where there is a low intensity rebellion. Travel in and to Waza is dangerous due to Boko Haram.
Sorry to be a downer, but both regions are dangerous. Douala is a big, hot, and dirty place. Great music and food, but the crime and humidity take the fun out of it. Bamenda and Maroua are my favorite cities, but they are too dangerous at the moment.
Cameroon is a great country suffering from horrible politicians.
