  • Why a Prepurchase Is Needed - Grumman Style: Here is a perfect example of why you should not just focus on purchase price of a plane without a good prepurchase by a knowledgeable shop. It can literally save you a ton on money. This video shows a plane that needed to be scrapped for a host of reasons because of repairs either done wrong or hiding yet another issue. Roscoe is spot on about getting a good pre-purchase inspection done. When I delivered my Tiger to Fletchair in sept 17 for a performance problem and a couple of tiny fuel leaks they discovered my horizontal stabilizer bracket was cracked in three places. A good grumman shop would have found this on the pre-purchase inspection.

We are seriously considering the purchase of a 1973 AA-5 that is currently owned by a friend of ours. We also have a friend that's an A&P. A blessing really!
Really happy to see such a channel, as I'm sure it will come in handy in the very near future.

After looking at other styles of wing/spars, Id take a Grumman. Beechcraft are way crazier in price for parts. Piper has way more problems with corrosion. Grummans are simple, great parts interchange ,easily maintained, leads to more maintenance...usually.
