4:18 it’s because, when you hit that one lift socket, it disconnected, and all that power went into that one bulb.
That’s not what happened what happened was part of The filament inside the bulb shorted out causing it to get brighter
What actually happened is the bulb lost its gas or vacuum and the filament got so hot and burned out

@@joshuabest100 No because when Matt broke the bulb at 4:02 it didn't get brighter.
This is because the filament is at a certain length to run it at 120v without it popping. When it's shorted, it draws way more current, causing it to glow brighter and then blow out. It still has the insert gas in it because it's sealed.

all my childhood memories are coming back
My dad replaced my ceiling fan yesterday.
It was old (September 2003 to be exact) and the motor was starting to fail.
Now there's a nice, 4-blade fan in its place, coming complete with an LED fixture. (The old one had a halogen fixture, and it took lots of hits from me as a kid. Surprised the old one even lasted for as long as it did!)

My aunt and uncle had a house in Toronto, that had a ceiling fan that never worked. So one day me and my brothers decided to spin it just to have some fun. So my uncle held me up to the fan and I gave it a spin, and nothing of interest happened. Then my youngest brother gave it a spin, again nothing of interest happened. Then my brother who is closest to my age gave it a spin and spun it pretty hard. Low and behold it nearly came crashing down
That is a REALLY good fan if it lasted THAT long.

Awesome video. Strange request, um, is it possible that you could do a sequel with another ceiling fan and have the ceiling fan run while it's on fire burning from the inside out? I don't know if it's possible because I can't think of a "safe" way to do that...
Thanks. :) That would be fun to burn a ceiling fan while it's running. Of course we can't burn it while it's suspended from a ceiling, but we could possibly burn one on the ground outdoors.
Or....I have an idea, maybe build a really wide doorway type structure outside and give it a semi solid foundation like with cement blocks, hang it from that, and set it ablaze that way.

remember when we were talking about blowing up milk jugs and other big containers in the garage? when are you gonna do that?
I'll talk to my friend and see if he's up for blowing up another round of milk jugs sometime. The footage that I have from 2009 is about 5 seconds long and it's extremely uneventful. I think we applied too much tape around the jug trying to seal the blow gun to the cap. Doing so placed all the stress to just one small corner which prevented the jug from pressurizing enough to get a descent explosion. If we decide to try it again, we will cut down on the tape a bit and if anything interesting happens, I will probably make a bonus clip out of it.

I've got a question I've been dying to know the answer of since I first saw this video a couple months back... Why are you doing this in a WOODEN shed filled with rubber tires?
All of the tires are from the car dealership where my friend works. When people get new tires, the dealership has to pay to have the old ones disposed. So the dealership encourages its employees to take as many of the old tires as they like.
