- Benjamin Franklin is obviously well-known, however we don't often consider him to be a philosopher. He's contributed a lot to the political philosophy that would influence America but he also had a unique practice to cultivate a moral philosophy.
In his autobiography, Ben Franklin lists thirteen virtues that he tried to live by: temperance, silence, order resolution, frugality, industry, sincerity, justice, moderation, cleanliness, tranquility, chastity, and humility. To hone these virtues, he would record any infractions in his notebook throughout the week to keep track of his progress. He would also mainly focus on one virtue per week so he didn't get overwhelmed with all thirteen at once.

I've used Ben Franklin's method before and it's a great method of self improvement. Would recommend
Great vid, you should make one on Han Ryner, there’s no videos on CZcams in English about him, I think he would be great for this series.
Check out "Character Strengths and Virtues" by Seligman and Peterson. They incorporate a bunch of systems including Franklin and Aristotle.
In a word.... wow
😂 Nice 👍
First of all, you do amazing work. Do not give up, even if you won't get the amount of followers your like.
Second, @PhilosophyToons what will your virtues be?
One of them has to be determination. I think having commitment and determination helps with anything.
