Borahae! I am a singer/songwriter/producer that rediscovered my passion for music during the pandemic after hearing BTS. A wild musical journey ensued that reunited 2 childhood friends (me & Lucas). The way they do runs feels very instrumental versus "showy", you know what I mean? Like a good saxophone lick. Their voices is legit their instrument.
Kyla has that smooth tone in her voice that you'll love listening to her without making your ears hurt, and her runs are just as smooth. Her voice and runs/riffs blended well with that of Darryl's. Queen of R&B...
Kyla and Jay-ar's songs are my faves... specially that "Say That You Love Me"
Kyla is the Rnb queen of the phils..shes one of also senior in her craft as an artist.thank you for d support of pilipino artist..
Kyla The queen of RnB and Jay R The King of RnB also have done duets and one of those songs was Say That You Love Me.Their vocals was so perfect match for each other. It was so awesomely good.😊

That’s the same studio where SB19 recorded the “No Stopping You”. It could be Star Music studio/ ABS CBN. They were both artists of the network at one point.
Trivia: According to Gary Valenciano, Kyla is the only singer he hasn’t heard to go off tune, ever. Of course, it doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened, but…
That studio is called the "Purple Room" of ABS-CBN's Star Music.. 😅
I remember Gary said, during their recording for their duet, that Kyla did it in one take.

Ms. Kyla dominated the RnB genre in the Philippines. Her runs were as smooth as her voice. She is not as belters as other belters which makes her voice distinctive. Her demureness I believe is carried on to her music.

I think because most Filipinos grew up singing and emulating professional singers when they sing and were mostly not rigorously trained but rather self-trained using unconventional methods, regardless of position -- standing, sitting, slouching, sitting with legs crossed or legs up (Regine Velasquez does this a lot in her rehearsals), lying down, etc. -- they will and can sing well.

My friend, rest his soul, had organized a previous event where Kyla was their headliner (this was before she got married). He told me Kyla is a freaking "yosi horse", meaning she a heavy smoker, and I mean HEAVY, like maybe 2 packs a day. Says she lights up a stick and goes through 3 of em just like that.
AND SHE STILL SOUNDS SOOOOOO GOOD. You just gotta be born with these kind of pipes.

@@ferofax I’m a fan turned back up singer turned friend. Ive known her since early 2000s and even during her gigs where I was one of her back up singers not once did I see her smoke. Also she is always with BOTH her parents wherever she goes and they’re a very conservative family. So no your best friend may have gotten the wrong person - that cannot be Kyla. Must be another singer.
