I'm so excited, I've been waiting a long time for this moment!
I was at mile 25 handing out gatorade. You looked great Zach it was so cool seeing you!

100k! Congrats Zach! 🥳
Exactly 100 likes to lol
Zach beat me by chip time, but I beat him by gun time 😉 Great rolling the last miles with you man!
Idk if I may be clueless. But what does that mean or what is the difference
@@eduardoestrada8224 Gun time is when the gun goes off at the start, Chip time is when you cross the starting line to when you finish. Chip time would be more relevant if you start in another corral. But results for placement (say for money) go by gun time results.
You are bang average
After running 26.2 miles (42 kms) and entering the city of Athens, the Greek soldier Pheidippides screamed “Nike, Nike, Nike” to announce the outcome of the "Battle of Marathon" and collapsed and died.
Pheidippides ran bare foot and 26.2 mile running took toll on his body. On his foot he had blisters, laceration and blood clot under the toe nails. But his screaming the word "Nike, Nike" was not for Nike Shoes.
"Nike" is the Greek word for "Victory". Lets celebrate the Victory at the "Battle of Marathon", Greece. Salute you the Brave Heart, Pheidippides !!!
Well done Zach Levet !! Congratulations !!!
Congratulations!!!!!!!
Waiting for your marathon video 🤭
Hey this is Ryan Trahan’s girlfriend
Cool
@@therandumblab1296 that’s his wife
You have lots of subs
Your perseverance is really an inspiration for me and other runners. Congratulations on finishing the marathon! Can't wait for more videos.
You’re positive perspective is crazy, it’s not easy to go through something like that and find some good out of it. Amazing video man best of luck in the future!
Amazing job Zach, I loved the story telling. I just had a cross country race today that went ok and this video was really inspirational. What you said at the end about pushing through mentally and physically is really important. 🙃
Chicago local here - was so fun/exciting to see all the runners coming through! Hope to see y'all back in Chi-town next year!
Boom! Congrats on 100K Subs. I'm so excited for you man! You're channel is the best running channel on youtube and I enjoy it so much. You really inspire me to be great in XC and Track. Thank you so much man!
Dude, way to go on finishing looking strong even though you were hurting! I feel your pain. I had the exact same experience in my first marathon ever this year, although my time was much slower, being 3:21 when I had been shooting for just at or under 3 hours. It was this past years Atlanta marathon, so the last 2.5+ miles were loops around this race car track, and it was just straight misery until I crossed the finish line. I had never experienced that level of cramping before, but was able to stay upright somehow and kind of hobble-ran those last couple miles. Finished with splits of 1:27 for the first half and 1:54 for the second. It felt so good to be done. Anyways, congrats on 100k, congrats on the race finish, and congrats on all the other super cool stuff you got going on!
Zach. First and Foremost well done for your 2nd ever Marathon.
Second: I did my first ever marathon a month ago. The Heartland Marathon in Omaha, NE. My time was 5:29:44. I did 10 weeks of training prior to running 'The Most Important Race Of My Life.'
My goal for this huge race was to get 5 hours flat or better. Even though I didn't get my goal it is an automatic PR anyway, hence my first ever marathon. What really shocked me about this race was I was not last or the caboose overall, in my sex or age division.
To think it's your first ever one and the only thing that scared me the most was the curfew time/cutoff time/deadline time whatever you call it, it can literally scare you. Even though more things scared me when in the first three weeks of Marathon Training, I started to get more comfortable by week 4. When it got to week 7. Things were going stellar. Then week 10, the final day and final workout of Marathon Training on Thursday. Took a 3 day rest before race day because you never exercise or work out the day before race day. Save your energy. My HS track coach told me that a long time ago. Still abided by that advice. Everyone is different don't get me wrong.
Then it's race day and I may have not got my goal time but I finished without getting injured or disqualified.

I was lucky to be alive after that.
Amazing take on the marathon and your perseverance to finish it was definitely a tough day. Hope to see more marathons from you in the future!
Congrats Zac. This makes me even more excited for my first 10km race now. Very inspiring.
This was incredibly well done! Congrats even though it wasn't what you expected. A very VERY respectable time!!!!
congrats on 100k, love you zach
This video was very engaging, I can almost picture myself running with you in that group. Nice work man!
Dude, I feel you gu’s just messes my stomach up at the last few miles of races. Well congrats Zach!!
👑 Zach! You did an awesome job👏. Great job pushing through.
Great job!!!! The same thing happened to me when I ran the Chicago Marathon a few years ago. I think it's a nasty combo of a plane ride, walking around that HUGE expo, and then pounding those concrete streets for dozens of miles that really makes the legs angry. See you in Boston, though!
yess so stoked for you bro I've been looking forward to this video ever since the marathon
When I see these videos pop up on my phone I always know the day is going to be even better!!
AWWW congrats Zach! So cool to see you running my city!!!
Congrats are in order! A lot of of heart on this man you love to see a hero finish the race
zach, good job finishing the last 5 miles despite the pain!!
Great Race! I was out there cheering you. Insane effort you put in this one.
So close to 100k! It’s been awesome to see you grow over these last couple years
Considering the amount of time for training you had it´s a great time finishing like that and despite the final miles. Nice job! keep the momentum of training and ready to eye your next race
Given the context, great effort to finish mate!! Good luck with the training
Zach - CONGRATULATIONS....I know what those f@#$%^ cramps can do. I didn't finish my last marathon for exactly that! BUT YOU FINISHED AND THAT IS INCREDIBLE !!!!! Well done man!
Great job on getting it done! You dad is cool for showing up!
Just wanted you to know that you’re my inspiration to keep running. Can’t wait for you to hit 100k!
Congrats man! I did Chicago in 2010 and wanted to pace for 2:35 but since temperatures went to 83 degrees by mile 20 I got cramps almost exactly where you did at mile 24.5. It was in my hammies and I had to stop and stretch several times. It happens, way to follow it through
Good job on your marathon bro and your literally less than a 100 subs away from 100k i've been here since u were at 50k i love your vids and i'm glad you've come this far
Marathon & 💯k 🥳 Congrats Zach 💪🏾🏃🏾♂️
Great job man i enjoyed this so much i hope you’re recovering well
It seems as if everything was done right with all of the essential training deficits, the right healthy foods, and great confidence along the process. You just never know what’s going to happens after such a brutally long 26.2 miles. Great job Zach!! Always inspiring to see your life log journey.
Side note: running my second half marathon in Vegas next year
I don't think he ran enough mileage during the buildup.
Congratulations on finish the Chicago marathon and on 100k Zach!
Awesome job. Congratulations! I ran it as well with my hubby and it was pretty tough. The temperature was pretty hot for a Chicago marathon. I’m a local and it was hot! But had so much fun!
Congrats on 100k subs! U totally deserve it
Amazing job mate! And congrats for reaching the 100K subscribers.
Let’s goooo 100k looks fire on u🥵❗️
Great splits! Try talking more salt in when it’s hot. I have 25+ IM races and some 15 ‘dry’ marathons but for me sugar and salt intake are the most important intakes I need to focus on. Drinking you will.
Congrats Zack! i ran the 2019 and love Chicago. Im better at surfing than running but trying the pain cave expirience is soo goood 💪🏻❤️🙏🏻🇵🇷
Dude amazing job!! Electrolytes broo, gotta up the salt content when the going gets tough! Dang impressive and resilient race bro
Well done tho man. We always learning - keep strong. Hopefully one day come across from you in the westside.
Loved the video man! Same thing happened with me but we finished and got it done!
Congrats on 100k Subs Zach
Wow great video . Many of us that ran this race cramped up.. your description is exactly what happened to me .. ❤️ This video way to dig deep 💪🏼!!
Fact! Add me to that list as well. Congrats to you both!
Def. not ideal conditions .. we all grew from that !!
I dont watch your channel a long time, and im Back. And what i See?? You ended second marathon.!! Graeat job.
I run only 10k but after wached this video i want run marathon :)

Cool video, hope you rest well & recover, what a awesome runner, onwards & upwards towards your next 02:25:00 marathon 😀👊🏼
Great meeting you guys!
Just imagine what you could run with an extra 3 months of training, nice job keep up the good work!
Just saw you putting tvs on people's porches, hilarious 😂
Congratulations man👍🏻
Congratulations, it's just a great time! What about now? Can we see a return to track and field?
Great job!!! My sister in law just ran 3marathons in 15days Berlin, London, Boston. Her friend did 4 he ran Chicago that day with you and then went Boston right after. One day I’ll join you guys in marathons!
That a great achievement! Congratulations
Wish I had been there with ice for your hamstring…. OMG,,, during Ironman Louisville years ago, I was on mile 2 of the marathon portion, my right hamstring pulled bad ( I was yelling oh no, not now ) and there was a person with water and ice…. I took some ice and just massaged the heck out of that hamstring and began walking, then was able to run the rest of the marathon…. I firmly believe, that ice really helped save my marathon… I had no more running issues after that ice…. Glad you were able to finish 😀👍🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️.
great job zach!!
I feel like i’ve been waiting for this video Too long!
Amazing. I just ran the Boston, and fell and fracture my tibia mile 22.
Hobbled to the finish line and requalified and finished top five percent females nonetheless. Wanted to quit 3748593 times because of the pain, but didn’t and pushed through. Now I’m in crutches but it’s al worth it 😅
Sounds like me except in Berlin
Heart of a lioness ! Keep running
Wish you a speedy recovery
@@cicirunner 💚
I ran Boston too and through the course, I saw 2 women fall. With all those tracks you really have to watch your steps in several places. Amazing you requalified running injured like that. You have grit! See you in April?
Great running some miles with you!
congrats Zach takes a lot to even finish a marathon!
Great job, Zack!
CONGRATS ON 100k SUBSSSSA🥳🥳🥳
Thank you:))) you’re amazing!! So stoked!!!!!!
Dinner with shalane!! 😭 congrats Zach!!
No kidding! Shalane 🇺🇸❤️
Good job Zach!
Been there dude. My cramp was at 17. The last 9 miles was painful. That time is awesome for hitting the wall.
Absolute great job and you should proud of yourself
Great job Zach :)
Congrats!!
Congrats mate! Last weekend I ran my first official marathon in 2:39:27. I take HUGE inspiration from faster runner's like yourself, as I only have 22 months of running experience.
Keep doing your thing, I appreciate what you do!
HAPPY 100K
what would you say is the best nike running shoe for interval work in grass for cross country. Love the vids, been following for awhile!!!!
Sounds like sciatica, Had similar issue. I had to slow down before the pain could dissolve enough to run. Way to finish out!
Bro Great Story, I am a runner and I was filling what you were were describing, congrats !!!
The way you described your last 4 miles is how I feel the last 10 miles of every marathon lol. More quads than hamstrings though.
Congratulations Zach, such determination to stick in there toward the end!! The big question is, and it may be a bit early, but what is your next big running project?
Wow can't imagine how painful the last couple of miles were for you, but great job finishing strong!
Those cramp feelings are a sign of inadequate preparation
I cannot wait to see where this takes you
Awesome job 👏👍🙌👌
You are hero material!
I like the music from Casey's run through New York vlog at 6:23
Zach man you did an incredible job my brother ever in Boston let me know get some runs in god bless ✌🏾
