    This was only in the context of social media? Of course if we think about it memory is essential to this digestive process, which is why some material tends to prompt one to pause and reflect. Aside from that though we might see more and more some who are not capable of making that distinction anymore, takes everything literally and do not have the meta cognition to recognize the inherent assumptions in the way they make sense of the information.
    Maybe the most interesting thing about digesting information is that it can restructure the way we digest information in the future since it changes our thinking. Social media starts looking like a landscape where people may be consuming each others waste products rather than what is nutritious - and of course much of the landscape itself promotes that kind of engagement.
