@CatfishDave, you should try the 12V black light LED strips for your night fishin. Not sure how they would video, but... They're cheap and they work great for night fishin ! They are plenty of light to see what you're doing and with a lil florescent tape or spray paint, your rods will be seen a mile away ! Good to see your still slingin the bait ! Some nice work there, a sweet flatty !

Dave, now that was a pretty flathead. We used to go catch eaters once a year or so up the French Broad by the Little Pigeon River. That was the only place I knew to catch flatheads that I would eat cause of the pollution and all. If it was about 5 - 7 pounds it was dinner. Ten pounds was too big. I was 10 years old before I found out their real name wasn't mud cat. That is growing up in East Tennessee for you. Thanks, Dave. Oh cool night fishing. We would think 🤔 that's weird fishing for catfish during the day. In Michigan we start fishing for Flatheads at dark. Yeah they were biting at 3AM last weekend. My buddy got 2 after 3. Approximately a 15 & 25 LBer.

Only had my boat about 4 years now. I’ve broken more rods in those 4 years than the previous 45+ years of fishing combined. Like the lower volume on the music. Thanks for sharing.
Dave kills me that rascal catches at least a 30 pounder in every video lol I can go for months without catching a big cat fish but I do like other fishing too striper fishing and bass fishing with those rattling craw dad's, the bass nail them sucker's lol
You can see the rod break. CD puts a tough, hockey stick angle on just the top 2-3’ while pulling a fish out of the water and it broke. Most poles you can’t break if you keep them relatively horizontal. But, high stick one and put more the a 90 degree angle on the tip and it’ll often break.
Dave has two videos night fishing and breaks 2rods with the same technique. Grab a rod 1ft from the end and bounce a 8 lb. fish it's going to break. Someone commented contact the rod manufacturer.Maybe look at the video.
I popped 1 sear tightening by hand, I just gave out on its own after a couple weeks, then I broke 1 on a blue just shy of 50 on a suspended bait. Those rods definitely aren't made for up and down fishing
I like to night fish if I've got an illuminated boat dock so I can see how to load up , some of the docks on Normandy lake here in tennessee and on woods reservoir don't have good lights and you can't find the dang dock when your headed in for the night , I have to use a big spotlight to cover the bank so I can see the dock area, if you have boat trouble you're screwed at night too , it's hard to get anyone to help you at night , during the day anybody will give you a tow but at night they are more wary about approaching your boat
Atta kid. I live in Idaho and we have mostly Channels with a rare blues and Fatheads. I'm addicted to catfish. I go 3 days a week most every week. In the spring I was in Dayton Tennessee and caught quite a few blues 25 plus pounds but no Flatties. Love watching your channel.

Lots of baits to be use for catfish, believe it or not cheese works , roll it on your hook like a dough ball. 😮😊
