Desmond Dekker was a Jamaican ska, rocksteady and reggae singer-songwriter and musician. Together with his backing group The Aces, he had one of the earliest international reggae hits with Israelites
"Israelites" was released, eventually topping the UK Singles Chart in April 1969 and peaking in the Top Ten of the US Billboard Hot 100 in June 1969.

So happy I found your channel while seeking to learn this song! There are decent tutorials on CZcams and for some songs it takes me lessons from 3 channels for the same song to fully get it. Then there are the good tutorials where I get everything I need in one stop. Last, there are the great ones in which all the knowledge is clearly given, the open-heart of the creator is spilling out, the voice and playing are as high-quality as the lesson is thoroughly, patiently, and expertly imparted. Plus, occasionally the green eye-candy guitar is boss, too!
