Goblin village: *literally builds a statue of Bug and compliments him with every greeting*
The party: "Wow, this village really hates you!"
Angela just straight up forgot about the fact that the ending of season 1 showed that EVERYONE in the village loves Bug and they were waiting for him to come home in order to give Bug a tragic bully backstory
I love how we all knew exactly where the key went...
@@Mario-us5xm Yeah that's what I was thinking, but new canon: Bug moved to another goblin village when he was little to stop the bullying lol
@@MaiAnh_HNthis is also my headcannon too
I love how they just keep casually overlooking the fact that Bug is a lawful good Paladin
Not anymore lol
He's neither good nor lawful at this point
Like Angela has any idea what that means. I love the girl, but she doesn't remember things about her own character, like his God or that he mastered necromancy in season 1. 😂
@@travistownsend5207 the truth is that it really doesn't matter, considering the willy-nily approuch towards even the more cornerstoned rules of D&D. They are way more interested in the silly roleplay and narrative than everything else. And this is 100% fine, I suppose.
I mean, by Goblin standards
i was not expecting Amanda to kill off half of Bug's village but okay that works
She slayed! Literally!
“yea, people are gonna die, but like”
Fuck it we ball
i support women's rights and wrongs.
Ahh yes, a staple in all D&D campaigns: committing genocide
Right?! Like yea "They're just Goblins" but it's literally Bug's kin! 💀
I love how Angela casually forgot the super fucking emotional ending of S1 ksfmbskflmb
Yeah now that sweet scene, which I assume has to move to here, is recontextualized by Amanda murdering them moments later. 😢
maybe that was a different hometown village /j
Holy shit. Legit stunned they just casually killed off a bunch of innocent goblins with literally zero repercussions. Bug and Delores just casually dipping toes into Chaotic Evil territory for a sec
Im kinda sad they don't remember that really poignant moment from the season 1 epilogue when Bug returned to his village and everyone was happy he was safe 😭
I was confused, then concerned. When the classical music came out, I knew they were all dead
There was an epilogue for season 1? Damn, how'd I miss that?
Was looking for this!
@@P0rk_Sinigangit was right after the wrap up in the last episode
@@Keshkup I guess I closed the video too early.
Sword AF has quickly become the best part of my day on Wednesdays :)
Just imagine how happy you’d be if it were a video instead of a podcast! Wouldn’t that be swell 😅
wednesday rly is DND day, smosh dnd in the morning and dropouttv posts theirs in the afternoon
Same!
Facts
FHJY tonight, I’m hoping for a Smosh crossover at some point
playing out in my head now. Some poor woman named Linda just walking out of house one day to find 15 tons of turtle dragon screaming "LINDA!! Time to pay for what you did to Deloris!"
So, Linda runs away and the turtle dragon is like, "Hey, come back here, I can't move that fast. Oh, fine, be like that. I'll catch up to you eventually!"
I IMMEDIATELY THOUGHT LINDA MONROE (StarKid fans would get that reference)
Furnace has turned the gang into murder hobos
I know it's supposed to be his influence on them but Delores has really been getting a little extra lol
@@laurenhunter-mercado9813Maybe if people would just come to her show these things wouldn't happen!
@@laurenhunter-mercado9813 god forbid a woman have hobbies! (joking)
Are we gonna talk about the fact that Bug should be an oathbreaker paladin for the sudden murder of several people in the village?
Plus the epilogue of season 1 set it so Bug came back to his village, was condecorated as a hero and supposedly has a good relationship with his home, you can tell Damien had a whole storyplot of encountering Bug's extended family and they would give out the technology of the furnace, but since it was so important Damien had to retroactively make an NPC give them the items just cuz "Isn't it fun how we're causing havoc and being so random? Isn't it funny guys?" And actively retcon the story on the fly.
Also, as you mention it, a Paladin whole reason to be is their oath and It's barely even explored, It's said to be of the trickster domain but nothing else.
And it might just be me but I don't like when parties just become murder hobos for "funsies" and disregard any plot the DM sets out for them.
Srry I vented out but I literally saw no one bring this up and it bugs me a lot
@canelitafacha7232 this is literally why I get so mad and have almost stopped watching back few times... dnd is a team building strategy and decisions game, not a murder fest and i have greif with a few of them for it but really, no one seemed to give Amanda (whom all else follow and bend to bc of her ignorant insistence and directionless strongheadedness) that memo.
She truely does not seem to grasp what the goal is from dnd (or most things she does) and unfortunately, her inability to see herself as wrong or improperly informed (ie, she does not fully and completely listen when given game rules and instructions) will cause it never change 🫠
EXPLORE THE TOWN, THE PEOPLE, AND THE HISTORY!! CHANGE THE ACTIONS AND PATHS OF NPCs, NOT JUST MURDER THEM!! STOP JUMPING THE GUN WITHOUT CHECKING FOR INSIGHT OR SOMETHING FFS 😭
@canelitafacha7232 See, but this ALSO had me confused. Domains are for clerics... I thought Bug was originally a cleric. Now bug is a paladin? I have no idea what's going on here.
@@momuv6boys YOU GOT ME CONFUSED TOO LMAO, I went back and checked ep 1 for season 1 and 2, in S1E1 Angela says that Bug is a Cleric of the trickster domain but en S2E1 she just says "A Paladin" with no further info, and It's weird to me cuz they do mention that they leveled up, therefore:
- Shayne became a lvl 2 druid, makes sense
- Chanse became a lvl 2 bladesinger wizard, makes sense
- Amanda multileveled into bard, so a lvl1 Bard/lvl 1 Warlock, makes sense
- But Angels just says Paladin, no clarification on multilevel nor saying if she changed class completely (Which is unusual, but Damien is such a marshmellow I suspect he said yeah why not and just rolled with it).
Let's hope for season 3 to pick back up, S1was amazing and S2 too for the mostpart, I love it but It's also valid to have dislikes too!
@@canelitafacha7232 They're far more than level two at this point. Chanse mentions level four spells in this episode alone.
Bug seems to have undergone a class change in between seasons probably because Angela didn't really understand how to play as a cleric. Yes, it'd be nice to get a bit more backstory on the change but maybe that's going to happen later.
Well, that village sounded hospitable coming from Damien, but Bug had a different idea of it.
So true
So I've noticed Season 1 they were like "Let's help anyone so we can prove that we're Heroes" Season 2 "We're going to kill anyone who says hi to us" and I'm here for it 😂
Furnace calling Bug out for being unusually violent was so funny to me
I'm not here for it. It kind of feels like the players don't care anymore, so it makes it harder for me to care. Nothing kills my immersion more than when players start treating NPC's like they don't matter.
@@L2Sentinelunfortunately same.
I get it for backstory/background stuff to have Bug’s village be bullies to him- only to then in the future- worship him because he’s the only one who left and did anything. Having resentment? Hell maybe smacking up one or two goblins? Got it, fair- but he let dolores start by KILLING 30 OUTRIGHT??? What the hell is Bug’s oath- Vengeance??? All in all, those goblins did nothing to hurt him or the party then in that very moment, so would Bug just be a chaotic evil oathbreaker paladin? And I’m sorry- but *everyone* went along with it? I get maybe Furnace because he’s more chaotic good (wanting to get to true neutral by any means) but Dolores (since she’s the one who killed 30 fuckin goblins) and Kota have NO reason for that,
I've noticed Angela kinda makes DM decisions.
I actually like that they made the party have a bit of a spell be over them when Fernie became Furnace since it makes sense as Fernie is undeniably the heart of the group and that being taken away from them literally would show. I do believe that Angela probably forgot the homecoming after the last season tho that could be written as just a visit were he didn't interact with most of his bullies and was just riding the high of "becoming a hero" then immediately going back to the gang. It will still surprise him that his most impactful bullies are now all the sudden acts as as if they didn't bully him and praises him. Which is what I think Damien also thought of cause otherwise he'd help Angela remember but it really is an easy fix. What I would like is to know what's up with Dolores and her angst/midlife crisis moments lol cause she reaaally has a lot of baggage too with the demon deals and all.
I wasn’t expecting to like the audio-only format as much as I do, but by this point I’m really enjoying having the sound effects and imagining the actions. Especially this episode with the motorcycle scene I feel like it worked out in a really cool way. Thank you for finding a way to still produce this series, I really adore all of the characters and storytelling that happens here!
Same! Really makes my daily morning jogs so fun and exciting to look forward to!
Exactly! I don't think I love it as much as I loved seeing them in Season 1, but I love it so much more than I expected!
“If you want to I will.” “Come on my back.” Holy shit 😂😂
I love how Furnace regains a little bit more of "humanity" back with each core and meanwhile the rest of the party: LET'S MAKE ALL OF BUG'S BULLIES EXPLODE-
Delores to Bug: Come on my back!!
Shayne: *dies from laughter* 🤣
I wonder if Damien knew he was going to be running an evil campaign when this started haha
I don't think so 💀
34:32 well, guess I'm adding Bug and Delores into my "Angela and Amanda falling in love in every universe" compilation 😂😂
I KNEW they would do this eventually 😂
Them in Patrick's short film lmao
I love that the whole party is seemingly affected by a passive violent influence due to Fernie becoming Furnace and they even acknowledge that. Hope to have more of a deep dive to Dolores's angst era/ midlife crisis 😂
If that's planned, it's amazing, but I read it as Shayne desperately trying to get the rest of the party on track.
Justice for Lady
Lady did NOT give a fuck
Has anyone else noticed that furnace is basically a mechanical ghost rider
Loving their almost villain arc lol
"Almost"? They're already there! Their obsession with being the biggest badass of the group made them lose touch. The literal murder death machine is ironically the most moral character at this point. The bullying angle doesn't justify mass murder. Vengeance on childhood bullies is a classic villain origin story.
Ah Nestor, the goblin whose good with cranks
Eeeee
And gameplays
DAMIEN HAVING THE EMERALD PLAY PHANTOM OF THE OPERA GOT ME
time stamp 1:06:44
Kinda had me wondering if Angela was wearing her POTO sweater lol
I love how long these episodes are! This is honestly one of the best shows you’ve ever done! The cast is phenomenal and Damien’s story and storytelling is absolutely amazing. I hope we get a season 3 and beyond.
"If I die, I won't have anything to watch on Wednesdays!" *looks at the camera* "Other than Sword AF." 😅
I don't think you heard me , looks at the camera, I said BLIMEY
The way their imagination just explodes with the motorcycle scene is so amazing
Damien literally tries to create a scenario for Angela to feel loved and warm and Bug and she literally says, "no." lmao. Angela loves being bullied.
If this isn't the _'Are We The Baddies?'_ episode then I fear the episodes to come...
Sounds like Damien is about to experience a murder hobo situation with these characters. Good God Bug, they made a statue of you and you had your friends kill them. Yeesh
25:53 im crying this is a crazy character choice
"so koda in this paintable, fanartable moment..."
is that a challenge???😈
This is easily my favorite thing Smosh has done in awhile, if ever.
not Amanda committing the massacre of the goblin town 😭
everytime i see there's a new episode, i realise how much i need sword af
every episode i question more and more wether they are really a band of heros lol
every time a new episode drops I'm amazed how it keeps escalating, and this episode did not disappoint I knew that character will be joining forces with true neutral lol
The way Damien leaned into the chaos for the motorcycle bit was hilarious
Love that The Furnace seems to keep getting much better rolls than Fernie ever did. 😂
It's like the universe said, "different character, different luck, plot device unlocked"
Ugh as much as I miss watching their expressions, I LOVE the soundscapes.
i know this definitely wasn't their intention but the way furnace/fernie is portrayed really resonates with me as someone with DID. the lost memories, all of his friends missing fernie, him trying to explain that he's not fernie anymore... idk. really makes me happy
Reuben (and the other spirits) having the most interesting and poignant origin and being followed up by Amanda murdering Bug's villagers....I need the murder hoboing to stop before it gets too ridiculous. Please Damien, save them! Sword of HEROES!
Very few player actions this season have been heroic
To be fair, Amanda wasn't intending to murder the goblins only to knock them back away from Bug. She forgot her spell got stronger with her level up.
@@timemonkey true, but after that she and Chanse seemed to want to kill all of them.
@@travistownsend5207 Amanda is absolutely the kind of actor to 'yes and' a situation rather than back peddle from a mistake.
I was skeptical of the format at first, but I’m really enjoying this season! Please continue to make more Sword AF ❤
Can I just say a massive thank you for continuing this series, no matter the format you guys have done an incredible job and this podcast is my favourite part of my Wednesdays
please never stop making sword af
They will it gets barely 100k veiws 😞
@@goblue2246 hopefully they might switch over to patreon or something for sword af support, 5$ a month from 70k people is more than enough for it.
Feel like Damien is creating the bigest murderhobos i ever seen😮
This season is going too fast 😭 I know a season 3 is unlikely, but I'm not ready to let go of this.
I dont think i could live without this
Audio only makes it easy for me to live without this
Me neither Man
@@SonOfMutait is way better when we can see them. Last season was awesome for that.

Sword AF is my favorite thing on CZcams
Loved the episode, but don’t like how it retcons the epilogue of season 1 where Bug returns home
Everytime I need a Sword Af episode a Sword Af episode is uploaded 😊
every wed then i guess
Waiting for Bug's next steed to be a bear... a Bug bear...
Furnace is secretly a Nam Vet 😭😭😭 “they had me using these in the forest back in the day” 💀💀
Thank you all for continuing this series with a new campaign. It’s really fun to follow along while you play games that build upon previous sessions. I think that was part of the magic of Legacy board games you played too. Please keep this type of content coming!
The mental image of Bug and Bed on the motorcycle was peak chaotic Angela 😂
Getting into this was the best idea I’ve had since deciding to watch some smosh stuff last year.
I literally JUST caught up on this and thought to myself, I wish episode 6 was out. Clicked "Home" on CZcams, and this was the first suggestion. Cool beans, universe.
Man, this series has been a genuine treasure
Didnt expect ghostrider but should have seen that coming with furnace 😂
8:07 SOUND DESIGN HAD BILLS TO PAY
At first I didn’t like it was just audio but the sound effects and music make it nice to listen to. I have my headphones in and clean my place while listening.
I'm early in the episode but bug being like "I have the urge to mess stuff up" coupled with the 'mindless violence that's not like me-' when they wanted to kill Tungo makes me feel like something is wrong with Bug
CORRECTION SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG WITH BUG (killing a crowd of people and licking the blood)
Not to mention it was his own brother @@Char.yeet1
I think something is wrong with all of them specially the ones closest to Furnie as Furnace probably has a violent passive influence over them.
@@Char.yeet1 seriously, the dumbest shit ever.
nester…. makes cranks… damien i see your game
I was hoping someone else caught that. Lol
The amount of 20+ rolls in this is insane
Fate was waiting for this moment
It’s so great to see your heroes at work
Not me getting emotional at the crew beating up Bug's bullies 😭🥰
Especially Koda. He was such an unnecessary dick to him in the first season so to have him specifically wanting to take down his bullies is such relational character growth. I love it.
Someone commented that bugs village actually loved him, and that Angela forgot her backstory 😅
So.........
The epic music when they are on the motorcycles just make that scene ten times better.
So excited for the next episode!
I can't express how much I love this series 🥲
I can't believe we are at episode six already. It's going by so fast 💔❤💔
I know people are commenting that Bug is a Lawful Good Paladin, but the Goblin party member coming back to their goblin village and having their adventurer party exact revenge on everyone that ever wronged them is PEAK goblin behaviour. It’s hilarious.
This is the best D&D group EVER
Its so fucking cute how everyone has bullied bug this whole time but immediately went protective mode when he talked about being bullied in his home. This is really becoming such a comfort series for me. It seems almost cathartic for everyone who's invested
Except for the fact that they kill 30 of them for pretty much no reason other than something they did (i can only assume bugs age but) decades ago.
It’s possibly the wildest, stupidest shit I’ve seen a player group do, and I deeply enjoy these 4- so this was just a played up bit that absolutely does nothing but make the party seem evil
@@NeO_SaNdMaN4040 in the end it is a game. They're not actually murdering people. Its a silly campaign this season and personally I'm enjoying the hell out of it.
@@NeO_SaNdMaN4040 you people take this shit way too serious and ruin the fun. Its a game.
@@eminemfan50098 I’m just saying it takes some of us out of it. I get how it’s meant to be silly, I DM Saturdays for my brothers and silly shit happens all the time, but Jesus Christ.
@@morgue3000 i can at least say its still an enjoyable game to listen to.
i absolutely love these videos!! they got me into dnd and led me to make so many amazing friends. thank you guys ❤
THIS SEASON IS SO GOOD! I’ve been on the edge of seat every episode!
I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but if this show has you on the edge of your seat, watching a live-play with actual conflict would blow you away.
@@jimbobjones9330 nope. Watched a lot of other dnd campaigns, this is the only one I look forward to weekly.
I think we can all agree. This episode was badass.
Damien is doing a fantastic job as DM, love the unique characters and world building
This was SUCH a good episode. I love the imagination and inventiveness of ALL of you! So so fun. And the way you all lift each other up and give each other the stage is really uplifting. Also i thought the soundscape was especially good for this one.
I’ve got a fever and the only prescription is more SwordAF 😇
I had to pause. My heart just sank when all of those goblins were unnecessarily killed. They were happy to see Bug (Angela) after their hero went on another adventure and they were all slaughtered.
I don't like this tunnel vision of "everyone is a bad guy or annoying unless they're one of us so let's kill em or be a douche." 💔
i need the whole motorcycle sequence animated NOW
Lol the party just showing up and massacring all the goblins was hilarious
The image of Furnace yelling not to use their good stuff before unloading a machine gun into a bound one at point blank is such a Fernie/Furnie fusion moment. Talk about a fan art moment.
Everybody just rolling 20s and above is insane
"Wow... uhh, she's hungry.." Did anyone, ANYONE, else hear Bob's Burgers? That's living rent free in my memories now.
This is my favorite episode of S2 so far. I was honestly really upset in episode 1 when we abandoned the dragon turtle, so coming back to free it was a highlight for me. Also, the entire party riding motorcycles was so cool to imagine, especially with the war horse riding with Bug, and Delores being afraid and riding so slow 😂 I can't wait to see fanart of this moment specifically.
Fernie is such a character development when he has killed animals in his past and developed the ability to talk to animals.
The turtle dragon launching himself perfectly is great.
I'm loving this series.
I hope it gets a season 3.
Dolores "How many breads have you eaten in your life?" Brando
The gang riding motorcycles was not on my Sword AF bingo card and I couldnt be more happier to learn how to draw vehicles just to recreate the glory I'm imagining
44:07 - Well I appreciate Shayne trying to handwave the Party's murder hobo tendencies in the pst few episodes hahahaha
I know they were re-born but I feel a little weird about Delores talking to Bug about him seeing her naked and her saying "if you want to I will because I'm into exploring" when she was supposed to be like the mother of the group and her focusing on talking and acting motherly (I'd say especially to Bug) in the first season, otherwise loved this episode
I'm hoping it's due to Furnace's influence and Dolores's new angst/midlife esque crisis cause even Angela was a bit gagged by it lol
I'm waiting for Furnace to get punched and say "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood." before hitting them back 10x harder
I still wish it wasnt just audio only format :( I miss the magic of seeing the cast acting and improvising...
I agree but they've said they'll prioritize it in future so there isn't much point in keeping discussing it.
Hopefully season 3 they bring video back but for now we just enjoy this as is.
After the grueling surgery, this is what i just needed to lift my mood up
Suprised this isnt a therapy channel lol
TFW when you realize the CEO is Robotnik but gritty.
He's even using animal souls 😨
dude the end of the episode is so sick
18:57 Holy crap the sound design for the background effects is not given enough credit. This is immersive as fuck.
This season is so great! Absolutely love the content guys ❤
Furnace he's a "gun" that doesn't want to be a "gun" no more honestly love that
He's the iron giant 🥹
