I have not watched this video yet, but I fully intend to because I love your sewing videos so much. Just came here now to tell you that I had a baby boy this week and his name is Benson… and it was definitely inspired by your Benson. So there’s a new level of fame, people naming babies after your dog! 😆
AGHHHHHH CONGRATS on the baby boy!!! I hope everything went smoothly and your boy is healthy ❤️
I think you just made my life naming your little one “benson” ❤️❤️❤️ brb going to tell everyone I know right now
Congratulations 🎊
To measure the length, just flip the measuring tape so the "0" is where you want your skirt to end. Now you can easily adjust the length from your waist down 😊
You're a genius
...sometimes, yes 😉🥰
Ayy I was literally just doing that!!!
(I'm making a dress while watching this video haha)
You have changed my life haha
Mind blown 😂
I’ve always wondered how the American creators that I watch always find theses amazing deals on fabrics as it’s SOO expensive to buy fabric in Europe (for me specifically Germany) and I really rekated to you when you showed these prize tags on the bridal fabrics as that’s what I am used to when fabric shopping 🙈 but the fabric you found was STUNNING and the final dress is also a dream 😍 loved the video!!
I lived in Germany for almost a decade and recently moved back to Canada (in the same place that this CZcamsr lives by the way). Fabric in Germany is just soooo much better! You don’t know how lucky you are! Here, we get almost no European fabrics and when we do, it’s insanely expensive!!! When I visit Germany I try to stock up!
it's probably because america has cheaper quality fabrics that go along with the better deals.
Hi! I’m not from Germany but live here now. Do you have any stores or tips or even keywords to finding good fabric stores in DE?
@@raynetorycallaghan895 I like selfmade - if your in the Munich area, I can also recommend L.T.S 👍🏻
I knowwwwww I live in Switzerland and fabric is so expensive, and shipping costs so much too 😭
Wow! Definitely a 10 out of 10. A couture dress that no one else will have. It looks beautiful on you and you look gorgeous. Now you have a special occasion dress for future events. Love your fabric choice. Hope you had fun at the wedding.
❌ buying a new dress
✅ just make a dress for something to wear plus content plus viewers so satisfied watching her make one.
what a win-win situation, btw I like the dress
i also made a dress for a wedding a week ago and i got all these compliments and got to say "thanks, i made it!" it's so fun, I hope u got those too!
You inspired me...BIG TIME! I bought a brand new sewing machine several several months ago (maybe a year) and it is STILL in the box! I have been knitting mostly. My Mom was a seamstress and avid knitter. She taught me when I was young, but life gets in the way. BUT, I am getting my machine out pronto!!! Thanks.
Such a gorgeous dress! It looked amazing on you and looked so well made! Great job!
You are so talented! Such an inspiration to me who is still starting sewing, this gives me plenty of ideas. Also sewn a satin dress for a wedding with my sewing teacher and made a hell of an impression, can't wait to start again!
The fabric you bought is stunning. Love the lilac lining. You still busy working on your pattern pieces. Cannot wait to see.
WOW! Honestly this dress would’ve cost so much more if you had purchased it from a store! You got a great deal
Jenna I've crocheted forever! My mom taught me. But knitting for get about it. I'm too slow.
Thanks to you and inspitating me.... I got a 25$ sewing machine at a flea market today! And it works!
So i am following you on your journey and my new one! Have a spectacular day
This was so inspiring for me. I want to start sewing my own clothes! You have wonderful taste and amazing talent
Love that fabric! I miss looking around Fabric land with my Nana. Watching videos like this makes me want to get a sewing machine and learning how to sew.
Jenna! The dress was fabulous! You have come so far with your sewing skills. You looked amazing in it. Did you end up with much left over fabric?
thank you!!! I have a whole yard left of the fabric and scraps 😭
Maybe just make the top of the dress, top..🤷🏼♀️
@@JennaPhipps Maybe you can make a fancy pair of dress shorts with the rest of the fabric. That would be a nice piece to either wear with the matching top or with a different top if you want to dress it down a bit.
@@JennaPhipps omg, you should try making a corset top. thats what first came to my mind when i saw that fabric.
This dress is so stunning! You did such a wonderful job.
Fantastic job! Sewing formal wear for myself scares me, but your breakdown of making a dress is super fun and enjoyable to watch!
hahah i love how excited you are about the straps. it's the little things, ya know? beautiful outcome, jenna! keep up the great work
That fabric made my heart flutter I’m so glad that’s the one you actually ended up getting
I love how relatable you are. You make me feel more confident being a beginner. Thanks! Dress is fabulous!!! ❤❤❤
I loved watching you go through the whole process of making this dress. Absolutely stunning!
it turned out a-maz-inggg! i love watching you grow and improve! its very admirable and very ispiring
I love how even though you appeared to be on the verge of a mental breakdown pretty much from buying the fabric to the end of the video, you still overcame all of the hurdles and persevered with your project. It turned out beautiful. You did a great job.
This is sooo pretty if this was at a boutique it would be like easily 400 and $300 and you made it with like 120 which I feel like a good deal
I mean 120 plus 24 hours worth of her time if she says her time is worth minimum wage thats like 400 dollars so it cost 520 dollars for her to make it 😫😫
@@ambersmith2612 true but she also filmed it and got money from that so hopefully it balances out a bit
@@sourdough6653 that is what I thought
@@Oliviarodrigo89fan yeah whenever CZcamsrs spend money that seems out of their budget, I always have to remember that they make money from the videos
Jenna, it's absolutely gorgeous! I am floored by how it came out and your sewing skills!
I love it...you're very calming to watch...I guess naturally authentic
You make it look so easy! Beautiful dress!
This is the best one you have ever made ! So gorgeous!
You just get better and better! Nice job girl!♥️♥️♥️🥂🍾🫶🏻🙏👍🤞🏻✌️🥰🥰🥰🫠🪡🧵
jenna ur sewing struggles are so relatable😩 ilysm and this dress is so good omg.
It turned out so wonderful! Great job!
What a beautiful garden party/going to a wedding dress. It's breathtaking. 😮 😊❤
The dress turned great. You look good in it. Congrats!
I went to fashion design school with the pattern designer for the skirt! Literally fan fueled when I saw the link!
This is my first time watching a video from you and I can literally feel every moment of distress :D spending too much money on fabric, sewing things together the wrong way round :D I love it.
It's a stunning dress OMG!
It looks so pretty! Now I want to make one!
It turned out amazing, well done!! I’m so jealous of the fabric choices you have in the US!! Also glad to see that I’m not the only one making mistakes and having meltdowns throughout the process lmao!
Jenna is in Canada.
Turned out beautiful , Jenna💜
Wow! What a great job! It's beautiful!
Amazing work. Such beautiful colours on you 🥰
Beautiful Jenna. You are so talented.
I love it! Turned out beautiful! ❤
I have dreams about this dress! Absolutely stunning 😍
Good job girl. 👏 I think this skill is probably one of my most favorite and I envy anyone whom can make there own clothing. Thank you for sharing this video and your cute humor. 😍
Hi Jenna, I have made many miles of rouleaux (fine tubes like your straps) used to work for a bridal designer. You can actually get a rouleaux loop Turner. A long thin wire with a fine hook at the end. Always cut on the cross grain of your fabric... Think you worked that out 👌 Congratulations on your beautiful dress for the wedding 💒 XX 💕
The dress looks absolutely adorable!!
Finally i was waiting so much for this. You look gorgeous in this drees.😍😍
Awh thank you!!!!
😍😍😍
That dress is beautiful!!!
Aww Benson 🥰
You are amazing. The skinny straps perfect. Adore it
You can also make straps without turning them inside oute by cutting a piece about 4 times as Wide as you would like them, then folding both sides to the middle of the piece, and then folding it in halve again. Then you can sew along the side with a regular Stich.
You do end up with a strap that is 4 layers thick, but especially with very thin fabric it ends up working quite well.
The dress looks amazing by the way :)
Jenna thats beautiful your money was so well spent!! Love love love your content❤
21:56 😂💃 it’s so pretty!! Love the back and the side. 10/10 indeed.
Beautiful dress and very engaging way of presenting your videos. Well done!
She's just so fun to watch😊
Such a pretty fabric!🤍
Wow that is a really beautiful dress! Good job 😁 wish I could do that
Good job! I understand your exhaustion to sewing. I’m a self taught fashion designer and I did my last minute collection together. I made 5 outfits in one week before heading out. What did I gain? Experiences and efficiency. Draping was my first time and I loved it. Good job!
OMFG that is my FAV Fabricana!!! The staff there is so nice and super helpful
Amazing!! Looks beautiful
YAAAY!!! new video!!!! love u jenna and benson
Beautiful! 😍 😍😍
You hit some bumps along the road. But powered through. Well done!
I learned from a pants pattern with belt loops the best way to make little noodle straps! You don’t actually have to turn them! Just make strips and fold them like bias tape is folded and then sew down the open side!
girll you did a 10/10 on both !!!! great job!!!!
Love your videos and your vibe you're so fun and freaking love the dress please make a pattern we would really like to recreate this dress❤
Just found your channel and loving the sewing adventure you had sewing the dress. Like you, I hated seeing thin straps 😵💫
The next morning your skin looks like a glaze donut and im here for it!!! Also, love the dress!
god I love your content. this is darling, thanks as usual 💖
You look absolutely stunning ♡
i love watching these videos 😍
Jenna nailed it… again🤗.
Gorgeous! Love it!
Jenna you are amazeballs well done 👏🏻
Outstanding!! 👏🏼👏🏼
You do amazing work!
I too, am fond of “Coffee & Unicorns” 🤗🎼
Beautiful fabric, beautiful dress! But I would have made the slit just a few inches lower. Great job!
The back is my favorite it looks so pretty
Yayyyyyyyy I have been waiting for a bother video!!!
Wow! Great job!
I love your videos Jenna ♥♥♥
hi Jenna, just letting you know to measure the length for your skirt, I would place the "0" side of the tape to where you want the end of your garment to be and whatever number is where your hips are or where you want your garment to start will be your measurement :)
Jenna!!! You look sooooooo good😍
Just got a sewing machine, and you’re the inspiration gonna try the bucket hat first
Me too have my yarn, 1st try wasn't right so its try again time ☺
The lampshade on the dress form took me out 😂😂 just like that, I'm subscribed 🙈❤️
Jenna your dress turned out GORGEOUS! The best part is it’s the only one that exists❣️
Wow! Gorgeous dress, you look beautiful in it! And I think it was good that the black straps wouldn't work for you because the purple straps look so much better 😁
Enjoyed the video and ended up with the urge of getting back to sewing ❤ Subscribed! 🎉
YAYY I MISSED SEWING VIDEOS!
U right 10/10 it is so beautifully done 👍
I am so glad that I am not the only one to sew a seam inside out! But man, I HATE ripping! But I bought a wood turned ripper. So it's easier to hold.
You are so chaotic. I love it. Subscribed
cute dress!!
The meltdown is so real in this video 😹😹😹 the dress turned out fabulous though!
I felt that when the straps started working… it made me feel *some way*
You are a very good seamstress ! I love watching you .. the dress is stunning and looks beautiful on you ! 👏😊
Thankyou for your video, your dress is wonderful
I love the dress ❤️
I would buy that it's amazing
Just WOW!!!
I've been off CZcams for a couple of months and I didn't even know how much I missed Benson 😂😂💚💚🌿
Love the dress
