  • Hi all!! Episode 5 is finally here for you and this was a DOOZY. I loved getting to know Henry and Sam and even though I sorta saw it coming, I'm devastated by their end. I feel for Ellie and Joel losing even more people, and I'm betting their gonna lose even more!!! YAY. No but this episode was insane, the whole infected scene THREW ME FOR A LOOP. That's cinema. Hope you enjoy!!
    If you think you can take down the child clicker, give this vid a like, respectfully comment your thoughts (no spoilers obvi!) and as always, SUBSCRIBE!!! Or don't. I can't make you. :)

    Extra bit of heartache at the end when they're walking away, you can see Joel turn to Ellie, because he's concerned for her, but now Ellie has no interest and just keeps walking.

    There's something unsettling in realizing that Sam was just sitting there because he's deaf. An infected listens for their prey. Even if he ever went to go full on clicker he couldn't. Ellie broke her promise and fell asleep, so he was just sitting there. Waiting, screaming from the inside. As his brain was slowly eaten away. And until someone touched him, or came in his view, he would sit there forever.
    And when Ellie touched him, Sam saw his own body attack her. Instead of becoming the superhero he always wanted to be. He became a monster, crying for his brother to help. He didn't even hear the shot. Just his vision slowly fading to black. He spent all night trying not to fall asleep. Then suddenly his eyes were slowly closing, afraid of what would happen once he woke up, but he never did.
    Bill and Frank's story was sad, in a stoic kind of way, but just like Bill said at the end, it wasn't tragic. They'd lived a full life. Here Sam and Henry had hope, a chance, and a whole life ahead of them. Henry was so good that he protected Ellie before even realizing what he was doing. It was instinctual. That comes from deep inside. His first kill.
    But a little like Kathleen said, this kind of goodness, makes it hard to live in such a tragic world.

    I think Ellie's smile when Joel tells her to get her gun out is a little bit feeling like a badass and a little bit "um yeah about the gun being in my jacket and not my pack..."

    Ellie is collecting traumas... losing those who are dying as a result of being infected... Tess... Sam... And, she's feeling it.
    BTW, the ~ 20-year-old infected.... the BIG boys... they're called "Bloaters' ... they're vicious and nearly impossible to kill!

    I love your submission. Those meme inserts of yours are a separate art form. The series itself is 7 points. perhaps I would have rated it higher if I had not known the original source, where the death of the brothers evoked a greater emotional response. By the way, in the original, Sam didn't tell Ellie that he was bitten.

    THE BIG BOY TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION IS CALLED A BLOATER HE'S BEEN INFECTED FOR MANY YEARS JUST LIKE JOEL SAID 20 YEARS THEY'VE BEEN INFECTED THEY TURN INTO THAT SOME OF THEM NOT ALL OF THEM!
    This is the most all-time heartbreaking thing on planet Earth character-wise this will break your heart in four pieces after you watch this episode and then of course if you play the game you'll understand who these two characters are! Better about to break your freaking heart to pieces! Bill and Frank was merciful happy death in an apocalypse! Compared to these two characters they are about to watch!
    Now you understand the title the last of us Small hidden meaning that I think it means Joel and Ellie they're always the last to survive!

    I just noticed people forget that FEDRA in Boston was also burning bodies but that was kind of accepted by the audience, but when Kathleen says it in this episode people balk at it.

    • @InstantSilence
      @InstantSilence Před rokem +8

      To be fair, when we see it in the first episode, we kind of assume they're just cremating/burning dead bodies and euthanized infected, which is honestly a smart thing to do. Later in the episode when they show them doing public hangings is when we realize FEDRA's messed up. When Kathleen orders it, it's to get rid of a bunch of prisoners of war after she's already given the information she wants. Plus she lies to their faces about putting them on a rigged trial and throwing them in jail if they talk. Pretty different feel in the moment.

    • @jasonross6049
      @jasonross6049 Před rokem +1

      Kathleen was wayy closer to being right compared to henry. There’s a reason why henry’s character influence came from judas and kathleen’s brother was pretty much modeled after jesus. Hell henry even went out like judas to put a nice lil bow on how wrong he was setting up such a positive selfless leader while there is an apocalypse going on

    • @lol-ot4pn

      Kathleen was a liar tyrant who was obessed with revenge.
      Not justice….REVENGE.
      She preached justice but killed ANYONE that stood in her way of getting said revenge.
      No trial no, no jail time, nothing.
      She wanted to kill 2 children.
      One for existing with someone she hated and the other for killing her allies that wanted to kill THEM.😂
      Kathleen is a horrible person.😂
      Everyone did what they thought was right to protect the one they love.
      There is a difference between saving(Henry) and killing because you failed to protect(Kathleen).

      Jesus’ sister obsessed with revenge is better than a dude saving his brother’s life? Sure buddy.
      She literally admitted what she did and kept doing was horrible.
      Even her dead saint of a brother would disagree with her choices.
      Henry never regretted killing Michael for Sam.

    • @Tensen01
      @Tensen01 Před rokem +2

      @@jasonross6049 There's something wrong with you... Seek help. Kathleen was an evil hypocrite. Claiming Henry's brother wasn't worth anything, but her own was. Claiming Sam dying was fate, but not realizing the same could be said for her own brother. In fact, if fate exists then Michaels death and Sam's survival were both fated. She was evil.

    lmao no, no it will not. The game is a depression simulator.

  • @xoblythe
    @xoblythe Před rokem +2

    this episode is a big turning point narratively; Joel and Ellie have gotten closer and by the end of it, Ellie is starting to bury her emotions down and harden up whereas Joel took the time to dig graves for Henry and Sam and give them burials. It also parallels the end of the second episode; when Tess blows up all the infected, Ellie lingers while Joel keeps moving, not caring if Ellie goes with him or not. In the end of this episode, Ellie is eager to continue the journey and Joel is the one who lingers. I also think that Sam becoming infected and dying has cemented for her how important it is that she gets to the Fireflies so that they can find a cure for the infection.
    I won't say much else, but there's at least one good emotional scene coming in episode six that is an anchor point for Ellie's character and you'll need tissues for it. You're going to need tissues overall for episodes seven, eight and nine; the back half of the game's story pulls no punches and if the HBO version is anything to go by, they're going to dial it up to 11. Godspeed. 🫡
