I like the trade. We get a shooter, in the short term, and future draft picks. In the meantime, our young guys still get to learn how to be pros. We have the cap space to get another shooter with a bloated or expiring contract for more draft capital. It seems someone has a plan and they are going to execute the plan
I think it's a good trade, Grimes was hurt, and haven't really showed anything of being a great contributer. Hardaway can help the young guys, maybe have something left in tank seeing he not playing with two ball dominant players
THJs one skill (3pt) is a need and they got future assets. Plus the Pistons have to reach the cap floor. THJ should be better than last years trade for the remains of Joe Harris.
I'm going to hold my judgements until at least the mid way point into next season. I'll give Trajan a chance to see his vision through even if I don't see it myself.
If you can flip THJ for 2 2nds at the tradevdeadline, you end up with 5 2nds for Grimes. Thats a pretty good trade. Grimes is due for a extension and can't stay on the floor. Had to go.
I think we should have gotten more. Dallas was more desperate to move THJ than the Pistons needing to receive him. Let’s face it, 2nd round picks are worthless in the NBA. Quentin Grimes only played 6 games with the Pistons this past year.......and we won 3 of those 6 games. Not saying we won because of him as he was dealing with knee injury still and his shooting was off, but I was looking forward to him getting some minutes with our young core this season when healthy. Two early seconds next year could be very helpful in moving into the first next year or move up in the top if we don't win the lottery.
We might get a late first but 2nds don't factor into moving up within the top ten.
It makes sense. Should mention Grimes salary so we know the difference.
$4.3 so we lose $11.9

So what is the difference between this move that Langdon made and the one Weaver made for Harris last year?
This is actually worse, Grimes is a solid player lol. But its fine, If we get Tobias, we should be much improved.

Dallas probably got the better player but the Pistons probably aren't done trading away young players.
Solid B. Langdon is implicitly acknowledging how fucked they are, and starting to dig his way out of hell.
I wonder why they didn't try and do a 3 way trade sending moore to dallas instead of grimes.
