Hey! In this video I talk about the main reasons why you might lack confidence in English.
First, you might lack confidence because you simply don't have enough experience speaking the language. Remember, as you improve, your confidence will increase.
Second, You might lack confidence in English because you've had some traumatic experiences. Maybe a teacher embarrassed you in front of the whole class, maybe your friends make fun of your accent, or maybe you lost an important promotion because of your level of English.
Finally, you might lack confidence simply because you have some kind of underlying fear. Maybe you are afraid of making mistakes. Maybe you worry about what others will think about your grammar. Perhaps you worry about people judging you.
Most language learners struggle with confidence during some point in their journey, so if you don't... you're lucky! :)
I hope this video encourages you.
I truly want you to become a confident English speaker so you can take advantage of all the wonderful opportunities this language has to offer. Don't let fear hold & bad experiences hold you back!
Work on your mindset and DECIDE to be confident. The freedom you'll experience as a result is SO WORTH IT. Trust me. I struggled with confidence in Spanish for years, so I know what this is like.

Bruno Robadel I agree with you, but many native speakers are hard to understand because they seem to be saying two or three words in a space of only one word, they just speak too fast and words are not clear to understand, neither is the context of what he/she's saying.

I’m an 3d visualizator in architects. In my experience, I was so scare to face with a new software or a new subject wich I have to learn to improve my skill on work. Its difficult and its take time. So in fews year ago I just feel lazy, scary and I just skip the learning then I give up. But now, I trying to do the separate practice from the software wich I have to learn, just a little bit every day. And finally that make me not to scare any more ! I’m just try to face with things a little bit everyday and that’s is my way.
For learning English, there is not much foreigner around here so its so hard to to the practice. Even when you see a foreigner on the street and you just so scare to say something ( even when they were really nice and welcome ! ) Its easy to give up! Nowaday learning English can be easier if you have internet and try to make connecting with people who speak English, and its really fun when you also get a new friend. I suggest you to read Stefanie’s Guide and just keep in mind, someday you will realize that there’s a lot of way you can do with English practicing, and then learning English can be much more fun ! lets give it a try !
Stefanie, you are like my mirror because you tell exactly how I feel and how I scare about something new, and something like this videos will make people get more understanding and more confident then they can find out the better way to do with learning.

Confidence is truly the key to being able to speak English. I remember in the beginning of my exchange program I wasn't that confident, even though I knew how to speak. Once I developed my confidence, by speaking constantly with a lot of people, I started to be able to handle big conversations without running out of words. One thing which genuilly has been helping me out is to think in English. I think this is important because now I don't have to think in my own language (Portuguese) and translate everything before speaking. Thanks for your videos, Stefanie:)

a couple of months ago I run into an old friend of mine that came from Mexico around the same time that I did so we started sparking n Spanish and next thing u know we were speaking English but I was impressed that he didn't have an accent at all
so I decided that this 2018
I was going to polish and improve or minimize my accent 👍
so people like you wont' look down to us and think you'd better and all that than us by teaching how to socialize in internet like we are from the third world country that just knowing what internet is.

Really, you can't stress this enough! Having a native English speaker to talk to is precious when learning the language. When I was beginning my journey to achieve a decent level of spoken English, I had a friend (American citizen) and he would speak at a normal pace to me and at first it was quite difficult to catch everything to the point that I was forced to ask him the meaning of his slangs and idioms or to slow down a bit. However, after many explanations I was able to catch up to his speed. Bottom line, I went from having to ask someone to translate for me to becoming a translator for my friend when he needed to communicate something to a native Spanish speaker. Great video!

That's right. I remember when I learnt to drive a car, the first time I thought that would be impossible to learn and drive, I was so scared ( also here is manual shift) , then with practice I can learn and now I just drive like as if I were walking, automatically. So the same with english and any new thing in life. ;)

Thank you I learned very important thungs which can stuck you if you want to achieve a goal. I felt confidance when I was using google in English, was reading in english, speaking with those who speak it. I use such methods to study Spanish.
Because in my own experience I understood that I hate traditional teaching methods they aren't working they just misleading you a lot. You need only use them if you wanna get degree or something like that. But advanced degree is not helpful and can't help to be confidant.
The problem is that people can find their orientirs. You are very helpful for many people do your great work, your efforts will not be in vain.
