I've been listening to jordan since a year ago. I was just 18years old. Now I'm almost 19 but still addicted to weed en playing video games. But I just deleted all of my video games. And decided to take to highest responsibility I can bear. And you see, this took some time of thinking and procrastination. But everyday the sun rises there's this reset in my contentious that tells me. It doesn't matter what is if what could become is better to create.

The point is to pursue your purpose and do whatever makes you happy regardless of what anybody else thinks. Never do what people think you should do, only do the things that you actually want to do.
I, personally am so happy that I threw away all these nonsense "special" occupations like I really have to impress someone. I have literally chased jobs in which I didn't even have any interest in at all. These days I just keep it simple, focusing on my own businesses that I create, invest to earn a lot of money, and focus on opportunities that I'm actually interested in.
Last but not least, no matter what you choose, there will always be pros and cons. The most important thing, however, is that it is YOUR decision, not anybody else. You must never be influenced by others and what they are doing, or you simply won't make it. Especially if it is your own family because nobody likes to interfere more than your own family. They always think they know what is best for you, but only YOU know what's really best for you.

He cries because he has lived what he is teaching here. He knows it, from his core to be the truth.

At 18 I remember always wanting the truth about how I could find purpose in life, and the answer I would always get from my family and friends was, "misery is the curse of intelligence." I'd keep thinking how terrible it was that I hadn't achieved anything, but people would say nobody achieves anything so young. I feel sad that most of them carry these feelings even to this day, but it is wrong. I failed college and messed around with drugs and alcohol, and found myself utterly suicidal. Now I am planning to become a contractor, have a healthy schedule and have a partner who lives with me. She has a hard time verbalizing things, but she pushed me to find work and help with chores around the house. That alone fucking changed my life big time. JP says clean your room, but it's unbelievable to think just how powerful that is. When I clean my home, and have the money to survive, it becomes so easy to write, and workout, and go out with friends and eliminate the dread of immediate catastrophe. Really, it's incredible. Still very pessimistic about life, but it is not less worthwhile to see how things unfold than it is to just quit the game altogether now. The smallest responsibilities, an approximate aim, and hope. Powerful stuff.

Hi everyone, if you read this, it probably means that you can hear something in Jordan's voice what attract's you. It is his emotional message for me. You see, being addicted, Alcoholic and easily obsessed with everything has been an escape for me from my emotions. Thereby, I'm 19 years old and 140 days sober from everything now, and my emotions are slowly coming back to me. Normally I would use or drink or play video games by now, but I found something better, I accept now the fact that I feel. Trust me, it has already payed off.

There are some many things I love about Jordan Peterson's deep and insightful messages, among them is his great capacity to verbalize the essential nature of humans beings and many of the problems we face in this visit to this world... he's a well of profound knowledge, yet despite all this and despite the fact that I can't exactly put my finger on it I feel his prophet like preaching echoes the prevailing mantras of western culture and reinforces them by constantly putting out there the messages of status, dominant hierarchies, your proper role in society, do this or your life will be a catastrophe, etc, etc. Even though many of the things he says are true, are well presented and articulated, it's obvious that he's a product of western culture. The problem also is that he presents his ideas as if they were the only objective reality we humans can live in. There are many valuable ideas, insights and lessons to extract from his speeches, but sometimes it surprises me that as much as he likes Carl Jung work he has never adopted his insights about Eastern wisdom and mysticism.... and when he does he usually treats them as some kind of side note.

He's pretty anti-bs which the media and politics is full of.
Specifically, he's against a lot of the transexual 'acceptance" stuff being pushed because it destroys the very core of what humans need to progress and make moral decisions in life (identity).
The man's purpose seems to be to act as a beacon for others to find their own purpose, and he does a pretty good job of it, unfortunately for him, this kinda makes him an outcast as most people seldom want to confront the brutal truth, they'd prefer to be fed sweet lies.
We're all susceptible to that in some way, the media just happens to have a larger soap box to shout obscenities from as a defense mechanism.

@@noahw4623 the man spent 30 years discovering how to articulate what he spent 30 years discovering. He's literally telling us how he became who he is and how it worked.
Not only does he dispense wisdom, he proves that he lives it. He shouldn't be worshipped, but his wise message is practically spiritual - not to confuse message with a religion.
There's so few good fatherly figures in society now that he has become a father of sorts to many. There's an attack on masculinity and fatherhood today, and there has been, so it's no wonder he's attacked for who he is and what he says.

Vision, honesty and responsibility also happen to be key principles of leadership. They are necessary to be able to create things (together) for the benefit of more than yourself. It is really remarkable that Mr. Peterson comes up with the reference to Genesis: Everyone is made in the image of God. I did the same in my book on leadership. To state that in those Devine qualities that we have the answer can be found what is expected of us. Use them to create, build, shape the future. Prove that you are worthy of them. Giving men Devine capabilities to achieve greater things also is probably the earliest example of empowerment (give a person the appropriate means necessary to accomplish the task given). How subtle and brilliant a plan with mankind is that.

It is like how Simon Sinek explains the difference between optimism and positivity. Positivity is denial of the negative, while optimism admits that the negativity is happening but understands we can overcome it.

Life is only as complicated as you make it to be. The major challenge in life is human relationships and the fact that you are dependent on other people to get what you want. Many of us want to be and act professional/serious all the time because that is what "society and media tell us to do". On the other hand, humans are emotional and social beings, so when you neglect that fact and act and communicate otherwise, you're not going to get very far. In fact, the most successful people in life have great social and communication skills. Technical skills matter much less than you think.

This is my religion. I'm gathering a basis that God is conscience. To have faith in your ability to make a conscience decision to better yourself threw your community for the persut of happiness. I plan on holding meetings virtually to discuss principals ,laws , beliefs, and how to live life religiously threw conscience decision. It is not a religion/way of life for the weak of faith because without it the greatest test of life cannot be played. And it rings a certain truth in the soul that you are the meaning of life. God is always a figure that drives us regardless of current religious systems but they all have the same principles at the core of them. Taking that and feeling the world around us there are simple truths that all know on a deeper level as unbiased fact. Those are the foundation to take care and love and hope for your surroundings but not to be blind of the truth. That this life is difficult under the best of circumstances but you have a conscience [godly] decision to continue the path to having faith of God threw faith in yourself. There are no limits to you as a creature made in his image.

Many devotees of religion were taught from childhood that suffering exists in humans because of sin against "God." That sets the stage for ongoing guilt. I don't know about you, but I relate to the following quote ... "Human beings do not like being pushed about by gods. @@jimhughes1070 Life can be brutal, and I suggest that that is because we are brutes that do our best to survive the brutishness of life on planet earth.
You might, or might not relate to the following words I wrote along that line of thought in 2017.
      An animal am I
An animal am I ... grounded from the sky
No gods to love or hate me ... no angels flying by
My earthly journey is but short ... as nature has designed
I pride myself for leaving ... all religion far behind
Most of my life was squandered ... by confusion of the quest
To know if a god existed ... or if it was a human test
They taught us that religion ... demanded our respect
But only if it was our own ... all others to reject
They trampled each other to their graves ... as religious wars they fought
Meanwhile they taught that God is love ... and knows our every thought
If a god just happens to exist ... it ought to be ashamed
The suffering of all forms of life ... should not have brought it fame
As death draws near ... I understand that I will soon depart
And so I give these words to you ... from the bottom of my heart
Please teach your children to not trust ... that you have the answers

I like Peterson, have watched countless videos of him and have his 12 rules for life book. But watching this video, Peterson is taking things waaaay too seriously than it needs to be. Thus, I am more fond of Robert Greene's perspective on life and I have all of his books too. Jordan is too much concerned about the suffering aspect of life and preaches what "you should do". Robert, however, brings more realism to human nature and encourages you to be much smarter and more strategic operating in the world and with people.
Life to me is as simple as this; Do whatever the hell you want to do without any guilt, remorse or even conscience (because those things are only going to hold you back from reaching your goals). And never put too much trust in anyone because we are all acting out of our own self-interest, and nobody truly cares unless it's in their self-interest.
Does that mean you're a bad person? Not at all, it means you are being real with yourself and others. Life is the biggest game you can ever play, so just play the best game you can play. If something does not work out or you are not able to get something, simply move on to something or someone else. You are not bound to anything or anyone, and you can do whatever the hell you want. Don't try to impress other people because it's only going to make you and others more miserable. Prove things only to yourself, be the best version of yourself and help others become the best version of themselves.
Every day you wake up, the only thing you should be concerned about is doing what is in YOUR self-interest, not anybody else self-interest. Become really good at something and make yourself indispensable. These sorrowful speeches from Peterson with sad music, no matter how accurate it is, are neither going to make you happier or help you take action.
Because at the end of the day, that's all there is... Action! So stop complaining and start doing, and always keep in mind; Nobody cares if you live or die unless your rich and famous. Do NOT throw yourself away to others, never cast your pearls before swine. Just keep improving yourself and achieve the best things in life. Fuck everybody else :)

You live and you die, so just go do something, whatever it is and die like a fucking man (or woman for PC...). There is no point in worrying whatsoever, so it's better to have an "I just don't give a fuck" attitude and stop taking life so seriously. None of us are going to make it either way. One thing that Peterson is spot on, is that you should stop wasting the opportunities that are right in front of you. That we can agree. Just do it!
