I'm installing one on my TAF I just picked up last week, as well as on my Whirlwind which has a new playfield but the guy restoring it didn't understand that it needed a coat of clear on it even after he received it from CPR. After 40 plays it shows dimpling so I have to protect the playfield before I play it any more. Hence, installing it this weekend. Thanks for posting this!
yeah, that new playfield dimpling is super annoying. It will eventually wear even but my OCD is the type that I installed a playfield protector on my ghostbusters before I ever even played it. My star trek premium was already dimpling, so I waited for about a year to put one on it. My Medieval Madness I put one on it just b/c it has the original playfield and is the 3rd production machine made. I honestly don't notice a difference in play but it is possible that I'm just not a good enough player to notice such things! :)
I leave the protection on the bottom until I'm ready to install it, then remove and install. The top layer of protection, I removed before adding everything above the playfield back.

do you peel the protection paper before installing all of the things, or after ?
